Had a very quiet day yesterday as nobody was in the office, I know at least one other person is in today but hoping for a good day again. I might try for a no spend day today.

Waiting for my Open University course page to open. I’m hoping it will open in September. I also have two days leave booked in September so something else to look forward to.

I’m away at my mum’s with the whole of my family over the bank holiday weekend. It will be nice to see everyone. I would like to swim in the sea if we go to the beach.

Went to open air Shakespeare as my friend had free tickets last night. I was worried about being bored but I absolutely loved it. The tickets would have been £20 each so very MSE! I think I owe her an ice cream.

Finances are still looking good. I have radically cut down the number of coffees I get to probably around 3-4 a week. Before I was getting one or more every day. I enjoy it so much more when I do get one now and obviously I’m saving money.

I need to do my chores this evening as I didn’t do them last night due to being out. Freezer surprise for dinner tonight. I have a feeling it’s pasta bake but didn’t look inside it. I usually label freezer tubs but hadn’t done with this one.

Did a bit of spending yesterday morning, bought some earrings as I’ve only got one in my second holes at the moment and some coasters which I’ve been wanting for ages. Also bought a train ticket for the bank holiday weekend. I have about £60 spending money till the end of the month, need to be frugal with that.

It's too hot to knit at the moment so I’m just staying on top of my chores and watching tv in general. Work is going well.

Hmmm! I actually seem to have about £90 spending money. I think my maths was off somewhere. That’s a bit better.

  • It’s finally the weekend. Have been looking at the budget, I have £100 saved towards a new computer that I can use if things get too tight.

I have a swim booked tomorrow so will be doing that in the morning, knitting group in the afternoon. Need to vacuum at some point. Sunday will be a lazy tv day, hopefully no spend.

Looking forward to the long weekend too. Hopefully the weather will be nice although apparently it may cool down a bit.

I just had the absolute best swim. It was so lovely and an hour flew by. I also worked out I can get a day ticket for the bus to get there for £8, saving me a bit of money.

I didn’t buy a coffee in town before getting the bus but I did buy a sandwich and a mince pie (!) after swimming as I was starving and it’s an hour and a half home. I think I need to start taking lunch.

I’ll buy a coffee at knitting this afternoon, so about £3.50 more to spend today.

Trying for a no-spend day today, I’m tempted by a coffee from the cafe next door but I won’t. Am going out mid morning to collect some yellow courgettes off the Olio app, will use them to make risotto. Other than that I need to vacuum, and I’m going to spend some time knitting a baby cardigan. I also must wash my bedding as for one reason and another I haven’t done that for a couple of weeks.

Am now at the “crawling towards payday” time of the month. I am going to open air Shakespeare again, but without a free ticket, so need to buy a ticket for that.

I’m owed £25 by petty cash at work, will hopefully get that back soon. It is empty but I’ve had to get urgent stuff. Not ideal.

I’m away for the bank holiday but I’ve already bought my train ticket and will be with family so won’t spend anything. I hope the weather is nice.

Should get my payslip end of this week. Pretty sure I know how much I’ll get but it’s always nice to know. Need to write down Sunday and Monday’s spending, I might do that now.

  • Just enjoying an oat cortado for lunch. I found £3.50 left in my Monzo account which is how I have justified it. It’s nice to get out of the office. I’m alone at work all afternoon but have quite a good job to get on with as well as the post. Roll on Friday.
