I got quite a lot done yesterday. I jet washed my garden, did the flea treatment for my pets and booked us to have a weekend away in Brighton for June. I had to call up and book my cat into the cattery for the weekend and pay a deposit for her. I hope the weather is like this in June as it is lovely here today.
I want to start meditating at home as I am going to group classes, but I want to do it at home too. I'm going to do a meditation exercise in my garden in a minute. I want my patio to look more inviting so I might buy some plants in pots next week. My garden isn't south facing so I have to see what type of plants I can buy. I know some are toxic to pets too so I will have to research that.
I do have to make a phonecall today that I have been putting off. It is to try and get some therapy to help with grief and I have been deliberately putting it off.
I did bring down the small spare vacuum cleaner to keep in the living room where my cat has her litter tray. She flicks the cat litter all over the place each day and it is easier than using the dustpan and brush every morning. I only remembered we had a spare one yesterday!

@Wednesday2000 all the lily family are toxic to cats, they can kill the furry owners just by the pollen if it get's on her fur and she washes it off.
I fell off the posting wagon last month, but i have got the e-mail back log down to high hundreds rather than the 3 thousand plus at the start of April.
So I need to finish the e-mails, weed all the pot's, plant said pot's with flowers, pot on my chilli plants, set some bean seeds and set up the plastic stepping stones in the gravel so I can get to the pot's without twisting my knee.£71.93/ £180.005 -
@Wednesday2000 - I hope you are able to access the therapy soon. We had a weekend in Brighton in early March for a concert. We really enjoyed ourselves. You may already know but there are lots of restaurants at the Marina which is a bit out of the main town - the chain type restaurants where you can often get a voucher deal. There's a spoons there too for a good value breakfast if you need brekkie.
For May I am going to progress writing our wills and POA's. There will be other tasks but I'm feeling that I've caught up with many OATs so it's time to tackle 2 big and important life admin tasks.7 -
Two small ones today …
Responded to pension company query about a deposit I made - I’ve been swerving that email since Monday and all they were asking is what my annual salary is! 😉🤷♀️
Responded to the vets chasing me for the admin fee for them completing the P3tPlan form. I told them this last Saturday when we took Chloe in for a check up that I paid this by BACs a week ago - replied to their email and sent them a screenshot of the payment this evening.KKAs at 15.05.25:

A very successful outcome to an April OAT today. I ordered and took delivery of a delightful yet very expensive impulse buy trough thingy from a reputable waiting rose online shop last week. All fine yet it did indeed have drainage holes despite the website specifically saying it didn’t so I’d purchased some pots to use it as a cache.
Sent a polite email pointing this out and “how disappointed I was” and received a lovely email back with £16.50 partial refund.
Can I come clean with you lot and say that actually I’m delighted it has drainage holes so I can fill it with compost and loads of flowers?!Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

I need to finish a job I started 2 years ago
we decided to strip the paint off the staircase, soon realised that under the paint was some vile varnish that resembled treacle!! Hard work shifted some of it, but it was taking a few days just to do one spindle, and there are 40 of themplus the rest of the wood.
every now and again I’d have another go, until a few months ago, I was persuaded to replace the spindles with black iron ones. I bought them in the new year sale, but still have 5 sticky spindles to finish, I’m hoping this thread might give me a pushI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Wonderful start to the month everyone, welcome and welcome back to all
I did an hour's walk I'd been putting off, to stock up on toiletries at a better price.
And I know we're on day one but I might have won silliest OAT. For weeks I have been sitting on the kitchen-diner sofa and thinking 'I could really do with another cushion behind my back. Like one of the cushions in the living room. That aren't being used'. And I have thought this several times a day every day. Well, today I only went and- brace yourselves- walked the few metres and got a cushion 😂
P.s. I did know the phrase referred to the plant, I just couldn't resist the opportunity to use it!10 -
Thanks for the info. I did remember about lilies and pets. I did buy a planter from Amazon that my husband put together yesterday so I wonder how long it will take me to get the plants sorted out!
I did contact the therapist yesterday and I'm seeing her next week. My OAT for today is to fill in the forms she sent me. I also want to start a new book as I'm only up to 8 this year so far.2025 GOALS

The wall washing prior to painting is finished - yippee! I hate the prep part but it's a necessary evil. With a bit of luck, DS will be painting the ceiling this weekend (it will probably need two coats) and I'll sand down the woodwork ready for undercoat.
I've dealt with an OAT before it even makes it to the list by ordering new net curtains that will probably arrive before the decorating is finished but, hey ho, at least they'll be there when I need them.
Two additions to the list: (1) Make the fixings for the mirror above the fireplace more secure than they currently are (looking very dodgy) and (2) Decide whether or not to paint the radiators that are looking less than pristine white.Be kind to others and to yourself too.4
