    I need to finish a job I started 2 years ago  :|
we decided to strip the paint off the staircase, soon realised that under the paint was some vile varnish that resembled treacle!! Hard work shifted some of it, but it was taking a few days just to do one spindle, and there are 40 of them  :/ plus the rest of the wood.
every now and again I’d have another go, until a few months ago, I was persuaded to replace the spindles with black iron ones. I bought them in the new year sale, but still have 5 sticky spindles to finish, I’m hoping this thread might give me a push  :)

The wall washing prior to painting is finished - yippee!  I hate the prep part but it's a necessary evil.  With a bit of luck, DS will be painting the ceiling this weekend (it will probably need two coats) and I'll sand down the woodwork ready for undercoat.

I've dealt with an OAT before it even makes it to the list by ordering new net curtains that will probably arrive before the decorating is finished but, hey ho, at least they'll be there when I need them.

Two additions to the list: (1) Make the fixings for the mirror above the fireplace more secure than they currently are (looking very dodgy) and (2) Decide whether or not to paint the radiators that are looking less than pristine white.
Be kind to others and to yourself too.
