I've always avoided painting my radiators because I worry about how it affects their affectiveness when they have an extra coat of paint on, that is not because I know it does - just that I worry about it.3

@badmemory: I've always avoided radiator covers for the same reason that I'm sure would block out heat. I don't think the paint would have any detriment to their effectiveness - the customer reviews I've read don't mention that and are generally quite favourable. My worry is that I could end up with streaky paint marks - apparently it dries quite quickly. I'll ponder on it.Be kind to others and to yourself too.3

I’ve done an OAT that is over a year old! There is a shrub (a flavour of viburnum I think) by the gates at the top of the drive that was becoming gallumphing! Interfering with the gates in front of the garage, showering me with rain drops every time I hook back the right hand gate, shading the bed beneath and so on and so forth ….
When I got home this afternoon, after a rest in the relative coolth of the living room, I got out and trimmed it back hard, to about half its width and height! Go me!! 👏😊

Ooh, it is very motivating to read all your OATs (especially walking to the next room to get a cushion! 😂😂 that is exactly the type of life changing stuff I am here for!) 😃😃
I tried ringing the garage again but no answer- either they're having an early bank holiday or they've had enough of me and blocked my calls 😂😂
My sister sent some plants for my birthday- I need to get those outside before they shrivel up 😬5 -
Ooh, I see our little OAT thread has been listed on the MSE pick of the week list 😃 Hello to any newcomers, do come and join in ticking off your Outstanding Annoying Tasks, big or small! 😃5

Similar to KK in that I did some ignored pruning so that visitors can get down the path without wrestling through plants. Mr Redo used to sort it with the chain saw but I thought it best not to try that method.
The frivolous cushion and curtains for my room have arrived. How many days will I leave them in the box? I hate hanging curtains. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I had my gardener here today (he's missed quite a few days due to sickness) and he's dealt with a lot of stuff. All the trees and hedging have been watered, the hedge, front borders, and drive weeded, and everything in the front garden mulched, which used up the two bags of chipped bark that have been sitting there for months turning into mulch... I'd hoped it would go a bit further.
He also moved all the old rotten fenceposts from the drive to the back of the garden, cut two forsythias down to about 6 inches (they were growing oddly as there had been other things growing into them), and two cornelian cherries down to shrub level (they are sprouting from lower down). I need to cut the 'prunings' up and stick them in the bins, but he's done the bit I'd have procrastinated about.5 -
The cushion clashed hideously with the old curtains so I had to put the new ones up. They will need shortening but I like them. The room looks and feels better as a result. An OAT avoided, although shortening them will go on the 'to so' list once there is room in the craft room to use a sewing machine. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
