So we still have 3/4 weeks to claim UC:

    Still dreading it😦

Our payments of esa should be £325.50(every 2 weeks) with the new rates of esa 25/26!

How ever we have received £343.60,:(2 weeks)

I believe this is wrong, and informed DWP we getting too much!

Informed them of wife’s new pension rate(£230.25),full state pension,25/26 rate:

They informed me this would be sorted; but still getting £343.60 every 2 weeks

Can some clarify what we should be recieving👍

just trying to get it sorted(correct payments); before we make our joint claim!

Any advice/help will be very much appreciated 👍

    Thanks to All once more😊

Are you claiming online or by phone?

Ideally, you want to submit the claim on your next ESA payment date. Just gather your information and paperwork; if you're doing it online, you could technically open an account and start doing so today.

You can start to open the account now and input the information. You have 28 days or you have to restart.

    Practice

    Video is basically accurate

When did you notice the payment was wrong near April? It's £18.10 that you're disputing?

Did you do a https://www.entitledto.co.uk/ calculation.

    Thank you Timelord👍

So when we do make our claim for UC it will be online.

Before we do this l/we just want to know why we are/have been recieving £343.60;(£157.80esa perweek
This figure is based on the old esa rates 24/25 and wifes old pension rate of £221.20 per week!

The new rates of esa 25/26 are as follows;per week

    Couple                        £144.65
    Carer premium            £  46.40
    Support Group            £  48.50
    Pension premium        £153.45
                                       —————
    Equals                         £393.00

So £393.00 minus £230.25(new state pension) equals £162.75 per week esa (£325.50 every 2 weeks:

So can some clarify if this is what l/we should be getting please👍

Also if they (DWP) are over paying us would like this to be sorted before we make our claim for UC.

    Thanks for any lnput👍

Also if possible would like to get Newcad take on situation

    Thanks once again😊

It looks like simply a DWP error, they are still taking off last years State Pension amount rather than this years updated State Pension amount.
There doesn't appear to be anything more complicated than that, the rise in pension has not been applied by ESA for whatever reason (lack of staff probably) and so ESA are not deducting as much as they should be.
As you say it would be nice if it could be sorted out before you migrate but it's no great problem if it isn't.
The overpayment wiil need to be paid back, whether that's from ESA or from UC it will still be the same.
(I was repaying a budgeting loan on ESA when I migrated, it just became the same amount deducted from UC).
You know that it's happening so could just put the amount overpaid to one side for when they ask for repayment, or spend it now and repay so much a week back from UC later.
Anticipating the next question- deductions for debt repayment from UC is currently a maximum of 15% of your Standard Allowance. (Or a max of £94.21/ month from a couple over 25 Standard Allowance).

    Update:

30th May contacted “Help to claiim”
Gave them information; as a result they did an estimate of what we should recieve UC award!
They also sent us an email(with reference number) so if we have any issues with UC;claim/ payments in future etc we can call them back,& they will help Us👍

I believe everyone should use this service(if they can) before they Start their UC claim!
They also give info/advice on what to expect when doing UC claim👌

    2nd June:

Me & the wife started our Joint UC claim(s)

I did mine first(seemed pretty OK) Was given a code& this had to be given to wife so the claim(s) could be linked✅
Unfortunately we could Not Verify Our Identities/ID
We both have Passports, but they required another form of ID which we did not have!
(They only had a few options)

However today we both recieved texts to log into our claims/journal(s)& we both have an appointment(s) for Tomorrow to go to our local job centre & give them ID which we do have

    Will keep you updated;If anyone has any advice/information of what happens next;
    this will be much appreciated👍

Also doing this process to try to help people who are in the same/similar position to Our selves.

    Thanks Once More😊

It will make zero difference to your overall financial situation whether you receive it or not.  If you do then it's deducted in full from your UC, and if you don't then you just get full UC.  So overall no difference, other than whether you get any fortnightly payments or not.  But in the end it all adds up to the same either way.
