So UC have now paid the other half of our rent😊. Our new rent has increased to £570.96 from £550.68✅(an increase of £20.28 every 4 weeks) We have recieved a new statement update from UC on journal & new Hounsing element has gone on✅. Our transitional element which was originally £489.17 has decreased to £468.89(£20.28)☹️. Our payment of UC was £686.10 which we have been getting for the past year; I believe when all the new rates are put on next month we will be Worse Off. Please explain , Thanks

If you get transitional protection then your overall UC should remain the same. The transitional payment amount will always adjust downwards as your UC elements such as housing costs and allowances increase.

You will get the same amount of UC overall.
Your Transitional Protection will decrease by the amount of increase for the other elements.
Leaving you in the same position.
Some people subsequently consider themselves worse off, others don't.
