I have emailed again as they are not acknowledging that I’m paying peak rates for my boosts  … they just keep saying I will be billed correctly when meter is sorted

they are also not acknowledging that I had a perfectly operating meter until they changed my tariff on April the 1st …

I have put yet another complaint in … nothing will happen though…!

Just ensure you have separate photos and also a video of the actual smart meter on various days showing the current time, current tariff price and the peak register being incremented to during the afternoon boost period. This data will form part of your evidence if you need to take this to the energy ombudsman if EDF refuse to accurately correct your bills.

I’m going to get a video today of when it should go on off peak but stays on peak

that way it can’t be manipulated , it’s firm proof

I take lots of pics as well

I can’t see how they can accurately do my bills when this is sorted to be honest …

some days heating on some days not ,,, some days washer drier on when it should be off peak some days not ….

The one big advantage when problems like yours happen - diagnostics / detailed traceability -  as  if smart is they have [and via apps you have] readings every 1/2 hour as well as total registers daily.

Export to a spreadsheet and multiple by correct rates - well apart from the in your case anti surge offset preset at 9min of course.

With any luck they might pay compensation on the generous side and they and you can avoid the re-work.

A message was sent to your IHD earlier today to update the information displayed to E10, which from your latest communication you have confirmed was successful.

I have liaised with the metering specialists who have provided reassurance that the meter will have registered your correct E10 timings since the exchange and you will be billed accurately. It was the information displayed on the In Home Display which was inaccurate.

    Just got that !!!!!!

I’ve just replied with a strongly worded email !

Will the offset of 9 mins affect my cost ?? I’m presuming the heaters will be energised when it clicks over and not before

Yes if say were on for full afternoon slot

    1/2 hrly would be 1400 1700 dst

Nsh 1409 to 1709 potentially (with any luck thermostat might kick in before on milder input for spring setting)

    No initial problem 1400 1409

    Potential 38p vs 14p from 1700 to 1709.

Same at end 9-11pm dst slot.

There is no offset - the 9m -  in the 1/2 hrly data.

But your an early riser and so could also be using some normal power in the reverse situation so currently 0600 to 0800 dst being billed 14p and not 38p.

But again your overnight charge 12-5 should be fine if the weather does turn colder next week.  The usual suspects forecasting snow in parts.

But sorting out 2 hrs 51 or 1 hr 51 better than paying 38p vs 14p for the whole 3 hrs or evening 2 hrs if using them.

My heaters when on in winter stay on , I don’t adjust at all so they would be on when the meter turns them on and off
