Now that the clock have gone back …should my meter not do the same ???

My tariff should have changed over at 1 pm , but it came on at 2 pm instead… will these times stay like this ??

The IHD is showing correct time , but the meter is definitely not on the times I was on yesterday

E7 and other "conventional" tariffslike your E10 don't change their timings for BST. It's because dumb meters don't have any way to change for BST.
Some smart tariffs like Octopus Go do however change. (Go is a tariff for electric cars.)

Many time of use tariff stays on GMT.  As per many old DNO regional timings for e7 etc

So your 1-4 will, be I guess by 2-5 during Daylight savings and 8-10pm will be 9-11pm .  And midnight to 5 am 1am to 6am.

The display clock changes, the tariff table and alcs tables shouldn't.

My old smets1 meter also gets confused about daily stats as displayed via ihd between midnight and 1 am by the way in the history scroll - so best avoided if yours similar.

That 9pm sometimes a bit of a killer if waiting to cook at cheap rate to save a few pennies per day.

My rts didn't change, my digital followed it and now smart  still doesn't (but could maybe if set to*)

(*) However thee are some that claim not to stay gmt - like the BG EV tariff if block tou  - that was iirc meant to stay 12-5am - but that only reportedly works on some meters in some users cases in past threads.

Hopefully the ihd display will have a timer / countdown warning to tariff changing to help remind you.

My time gets replaced by a 90m countdown to next change - others have a sort of fuel gauge on display that ramps in or out etc.

But of course others who have to match meters to timers have to potentially reset them.

Just as we have to adapt our heavy use device timings.

Did your previous system switch between GMT and BST? In general the tariffs that were around before smart meters stay on GMT all year round, and continue to do so even when applied to a smart meter.

I'm very grateful that the meter times don't change so we get an hour later in a morning now the clocks have gone forward.

I sometimes think it should be the other way round. In summertime, I can have an electric shower at the offpeak rate between 7 and 8 in the morning when it's light. In winter, I have to be finished in the cold and dark before 7.

The entire electricity industry works in GMT all year round. Tariffs like Economy 10 are based on contracts between the supplier and DNOs/generators to get electricity at a discount for certain periods of the day, and those periods are fixed in GMT. There may be some DNOs who are prepared to adjust for summertime, but most don't.

This may all change when MHHS becomes the norm very soon.
