Whilst I have a great local Evri delivery person, I’ve had parcels go missing when sending from my local parcel shops, so I’ll have to opt out and stick with RM Tracked 48.Once this new system is in place you won't have to worry about Evri's shortcomings as they have taken on the responsibility of sorting problems or refunding as necessary.Although I do wonder if this could reflect on sellers coming across as unsympathetic and uncaring when they refer buyers to eBay to sort out problems.
I'd probably opt in to simple postage, I have an Evri shop nearby and even some inpost lockers take Evri (not all though) as long as you pre print the label yourself. I've got rather sued to it with Vinted. RM is becoming an issue for me with their limited opening times at the mail centre, and sometimes 40 minutes queues at the PO.
A lot of my business stock is large letter though for which I don't use tracking at all although about 70% do show as delivered if I use the ebay labels. It's my private sales for which I tend to use parcels. I might wait to see all the full t and cs, comparison of costs for the buyer, before I decide.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. There doesn't seem to be any update on when or even if this is likely to become a requirement for private sellers but there is at least details now in the FAQs that refer to the trial taking place in Summer 2024 with potentially it being rolled out to all private sellers at some point, possibly in 2025.
Simple Delivery | eBay
However it does now mention an opt outOpting out
You can opt out of Simple Delivery when you're creating your listing by selecting Custom Postage from the delivery options. If you'd prefer not to use Simple Delivery at all in the future, you'll need to opt out each time this programme is recommended when you're creating listings.
Keep in mind that if you opt out, you won't benefit from the enhanced cover for loss or damage to the item during transit offered by Simple Delivery.

Well, as long as I can purchase RM through Simple Delivery for Domestic AND keep existing arrangement of Postie collecting AND bringing a label...then it works for me. Worst case is opt out and keep existing tried and tested routine. Only tweak would be to add the '110' number in tracking to speed up payment0

Thank you for the replies.
I dont get any of those options when I list.
I get this-
Simple Delivery will override your domestic postage policy. Dispatch time will be set to 3 days.
My usual dispatch time is one working day. Im also getting a box which says 'Payment Policy' and when I click on that it says 'Ebay managed payments' and there is an option to edit it but when I try to get rid of it it s impossible.
There is no option to change anything. Its driving me mad.0 -
swingaloo said:Been going round in circles trying to list some items today. I prefer to use RM 2nd class or free post for my sales.
Today everything is automatically set to Simple Delivery which shows that if I want to pay the delivery myself it costs me £3.79 for what would be a small parcel which I could buy for £3.25. Likewise if the buyer pays they pay £3.79 rather than what I would charge them.
Ive been reading all the info and it tells me I can opt out. But I cant find a way to do so. It tells me to select 'Custom Postage' from the postage options when I do a listing but that option does not appear.
I also looked at setting a Postage Policy but again it will not give me the option to opt out there either. Any ideas please. I haven't listed anything for about 4 or 5 weeks but didnt have this trouble last time I listed.
Any ideas please anyone? Thank you

'Switch to advanced options'
Above the delivery details section there is a box which says 'Payment Policy' and when I click on that it says 'This policy is currently being used by 1 listing' and Im wondering if its anything to do with that. It says I can edit that box but when I try it does nothing.
I could just go ahead with the simple delivery option but Im trying to list a ladies top which I know I can post as a large letter and it is showing that if I offer free delivery than I will be charged £3.94.
Ive tried logging out and back in, tried to contact Ebays online help but keep being referred to the 'Advanced options' which is not appearing no matter how many time I start a listing from new.0 -
I am having this exact problem. Business policy is now being ignored and the listing tool says "Simple Delivery will override your domestic postage policy. Dispatch time will be set to 3 days."And is forcing me to use either Evri or Royal Mail, not the company I want to use.Crazy.0

I think I've figured it out.Underneath the "Postage set-up" it then says "Simple Delivery".. below that "Package size".Click "Package size".Then click "Switch to custom package"Then back near the top below "Postage set-up" it will now show "Custom postage" or your policy will apply. How convoluted.0
