Cheers for the info @Blackcats, will keep it in mind. I always automatically think bootses will be more expensive than other places and I don't know why, so must try to be more savvy1

I have now read and signed all of my overdue and due by april work policies.
I've also started trying on and sorting old clothes. The bag I grabbed contained bikinis and beachwear, a strange one to start with but it's a start.
I'm going to go read the instructions on my mouse traps now and decide on the treats to try.Debts 04/01/25 01/07/25

Definitely up for a big push of OATS today. Last night I sat & sharpened every pencil I could find in the house, while watching Ben Fogle in his shorts....love that man & his programs so much. So that's another annoying little job off the listMaking the debt go down and savings go up

Hi, it's great to see everyone's achievements, I may join if there is an April one, as I will has some BIG tasks to get done.
Meanwhile, if I find I am lacking a little in motivation I play a game with myself for an hour, but any time is good. One is think it, do it, no excuses, get it done and onto the next thing, no stopping. The other is see it, do it. Same rules, just get on with it and onto the next thing.
Finally my favourite mantra, if it has a home put it in it! Good luck all V x6 -
I just had a GP appointment. He gave me some exercises to do at home as he said I have aggravated my rotator cuff injury. I'm not sure how I did that as the only new thing I've been doing is meditation classes!
I have a Pip review coming up so I called to book an appointment at the advocacy group that helped me last time.
I want to start another book today as I may as well take advantage of kindle unlimited before the subscription runs out.

Excellent work going on in here 😊
I have paid the plumber and asked him to find a date to come back and fix the boiler. Been putting this off because it's going to cost money 🙄 and it still works (except you can only fill the bath with a small trickle of water, which means it takes a VERY long time). But it's not going to fix itself!
Also emailed Halfords about my complaint - clearly at this point they are hoping I will just go away. Told them yet again that if they are happy with the service they have provided for me, then yes, by all means pay me the vast compensation of £18 that they've offered 🙄😂
Started with another administrative OAT - responding to the LPG company, who arranged some legally necessary work, arrived and realised it didn't actually need doing, did something else instead, and are now trying to charge just £30 less, arguing that this was part of the original quote. I don't believe it was, and I also don't believe it comes under the legal requirement. I'll consider paying their invoice once they admit that they've done something that wasn't legally required (or they can point me towards something that clearly states it WAS required).
YAWN. Gosh this stuff is so boring, isn't it?? I've started saving stupid admin tasks like this for when I'm hungry - that's when I'm least likely to be a pushover 😂
Also need to ring the garage - when I took the car yesterday they didn't fix it, just reset the dashboard light, which has now come on again 🙄 never-ending, isn't it?!5 -
@vampirotoothus - your games and mantra are great - I will be adopting those henceforthwith (I love that word 😁)
@Cheery_Daff - I love your tackle it when hungry approach. I am disproportionately rewarding myself with chocolate when I achieve a task. You are right some of these tasks are boring and seemingly never ending. I rang b n q's head office (overseas call centre) to escalate a complaint last Friday and was told that I would get a call back in 24 hours. I rang again on Tuesday and apparently they have escalated my escalated complaint. I asked if I could expect a call back this year and was told that was indeed a possibility 🤷♀️Have ticked some more tasks off the lists but made a deliberate decision to move the verging (on the ridiculous) media call until Monday. As MrBC rightly said we are currently buoyed by our task successes and a call to that organisation can only lead to sinking spirits and quite often abject misery. The other deferred task involves paying out some money and as it's not due until Monday I will wait til then and eek out a bit of interest.
thanks to this challenge I am wearing a jumper that's been lurking in the wardrobe for months because the sleeves were too long. Yesterday I turned the sleeves up and hemmed them and today I am wearing that spring jumper enjoying a cuppa in the glorious sunshine, next to a re-potted plant that's been waiting to be re-homed for quite a while.
I've also booked the dentist! I was secretly happy when the receptionist was telling me that there was a long wait for appointments but she found a cancellation for next week. Best to get it over with I suppose.3 -
It has been over a week since I have made a proper update and plan. This week has been very busy for everyone in the house and with the road still being closed and no bus service, I have been ferrying the children around more than planned.
This morning, I decided I needed to get back to dealing with my OATs. I revisited my list to see what to do next and I am pleased we have still been making progress 😊
Progress so far:
Dismantled 95% of old play equipment
Strimmed the old play equipment area
Mowed the old play equipment area
Scarified the old play equipment area
Cut down 90% of the trees and branches that need removing from the garden
Processed 75% of the cut down trees and branches so they can dry out for burning on the stove next winter
Processed 20% of other wood so it can dry for burning on the stove next winter
Changed my email address with 7 banks/building societies
Decanted the wholesale sack of porridge oats into 5kg containers
Decided on light fittings for the dining room
Paid cash into the bank, this has been hanging around since the end of last year
Sorted through clothes that have been in long-term storage
Washed 85% of the stored clothes we are keeping
This cheered me up and no end and made me think of plans for today:
💮 Add my name to the council tax bill - Done, I was on hold for about 15 minutes, they needed OH's permission as he is the account holder 😡 despite me for the twenty years we have lived here, always being the bill payer
💮 Sign up for the Boots blister pack recycle scheme - Done, I've scanned my first 15 packs, which have been approved - thank you @Blackcats for highlighting that Boots recycle blister packs
💮 Change my email address with 1 bank/building society. I've left the more difficult ones until the end - Done, it only took a minute or two once I found time to focus on this task
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family4
