@Makingabobor2 - when you download the boots recycling app, there is a facility to scan each pack and then within 24 hours they are approved or not. So when you go to the shop you scan your app and then put the blister packs straight into the recycling box. It is a faff but at least you can scan them in the comfort of your own home.2

Blimey, everyone is proper smashing it! Well done all round 👏
I've been doing things all day but particularly pleased with making myself take pics for vinted listings which is a job I disproportionately dislike, replying to two messages outstanding from Christmas, finding and uploading mortgage broker documents which was a very tempting job to put off.
And also things like doing the laundry when I was debating, for absolutely no reason, whether to do it tomorrow instead, and seeing my friend for a beer at short notice instead of umming and ahhing and turning it into A Thing To Be Arranged3 -
Today I am visiting mom in the nursing home, to take her mother's day card and gift. I find it very sad visiting her now as sometimes she remembers me and sometimes she doesn't.
Conversation is nil now , and she won't know it is mother's day tomorrow.
After the visit I will come home and have lunch then my 1 OAT will be changing the bed linen , this has been on hold due to lack of time ,due to work and paperwork admin.
I intend to then have some me time listening to music and painting my nails . Me time is a must.
Tomorrow my OH will take me to a garden centre.

Yesterday's OAT was phoning the doctors to arrange a ferritin blood test (put off for maybe 2 years). They'll phone me back on Monday to see if I can have one as their threshold for high is different to private clinics and medical research.
More exciting is that at 6am I rehomed pantry mouse. Second night of the trap. He preferred the ryvita bait to the crunchy nut cornflakes bait in the other trap. The first night he just did a poop on the trap as he climbed over to feast on the garam flour so I threw the flour away. I've fed him and kept him happy in the pantry for 3 months so no guilt. He was very fat.
Hopefully he didn't have any friends with him and I can reclaim the pantry. I'll leave the traps down for a few more nights to be sure.
He was very cute.Debts 04/01/25 01/05/25

Hope you and your mum have a nice time and that you find smiles amongst the poignancy @I_Love_comps
Fresh bed linen is always a delight after any kind of day anyway!
Great work on the appt and rehoming pantry mouse @rachmac3
I have a loooong list today so I'm going to prioritise making sure I get everything needed for Mothers Day, and then focus on flat based things. Want to do A Big Clean, including lovely fresh bedding5 -
@I_Love_comps
I hope the visit to your mum goes as well as it can and that in the moment there is a little joy. When we used to visit my f-I-l he had no idea who we were but always said it was very nice to have met us and to have a chat with us as we seemed to have a lot in common with his family.@rachmac3 - what a charming image of the cute, fat mouse moving to his spring residence.PIP - have a bit of a chill out today and re-charge your batteries. Prioritise the fresh bed linen and then relax!4 -
Well by the time the mothers day bits were sorted and dinner was prepped I ran out of steam, but we have cleaned the bedroom and changed the bedding so that's the most important part of flat clean done!
Will try to do some small productive things this evening like finishing some half read magazines and paper supplements so they can be passed on, and doing some surveys for pennies, hoping they turn into pounds1 -
Massive OAT started today and kind of finished subject to final checking and that was accounting for interest payments on 36 accounts for the tax year about to end! Bits and bobs here and there amounting to pence along with some bigger ones but phew it was a mammoth task. I wouldn’t have bothered but I got a snotty HMRC letter the other day saying they’d registered me to do a self assessment tax return next year “due to my circumstances”. I read this as “as you are not currently earning and we can see you are making some interest on your savings and we have nowhere to snaffle tax from if you’ve made too much money so we’ll make you suffer”.
I must admit I was surprised my interest earnings came to under £10k and I don’t have other income apart from tax free PBs and ISAs so really need to double check as I felt it was higher.
Another plus today was registering for the Boots recycle app thanks @Blackcats I recall. My DH goes through blister packs at a rate of knots so some treats in my future there!
Looking forward to an hour less sleep as I’m always awake around 5 am so it will be a bonus when it’s 6 am tomorrow. My younger self is cringing at me!Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62
