Thanks PIP, I put on Sort Your Life Out and read and signed 2 work policies for an easy OAT win.
I only have to work half a day over the next 2, so I am feeling reasonably recharged and keen to have one last push before April and the start of proper spring and summer.
I'm actually a little bit excited about what I could get done over the next 4 days!Debts 04/01/25 01/05/25

My weekend has been filled up with excursions and tasks so I won't get everything finished that I wanted to, but hopefully still a few things. Would like to at least reply to my two annoying emails (Stupid Halfords and the LPG company) and get the ceiling panel put up.

Back from my morning job. I have put the clothes out to air on a clothes rack .
I have changed the ink cartridge, so now I can hopefully print out an important document.
I will be out to my lunchtime job.
Then after lunch I will sort out admin for my DM.

What a great idea for a thread... I don't think I'll attempt to join this late in the month, but I'd love to join in April and work through my long list of OATs...4

@I_Love_comps - I do the admin and run my elderly dad's house and this thread has helped me realise how much there is to do. Don't get me wrong I don't begrudge it at all but to acknowledge to myself that there is a lot to do has been useful.
when I wrote out my to do list I now put a separate section for dad so that all his tasks are visible.
however, today it's a huge green tick for me for actually getting round to using the Boots recycling scheme for empty medicine blister packs. I thought it was going to be fiddly, time consuming, difficult etc - all the general excuses as to why it's been on my list for a while.
anyway 15 empty foil packs recycled and 300 points earned and deducted from my boots shop. Added bonus is that they packs have left my house, will be responsibly recycled and I've got a bit of money off my shop. The makeup and toiletries recycling scheme is even more generous I think 500 points for 5 recycled items.

STOP!! PRESS!!!
I MAY HAVE JUST DONE THE OATIEST OF ALL OATS!!!
I've just finally got around to changing my opticians from one 40 miles away to one 7 miles away! I moved out of that area in October 2015!!
For the first few years it didn't matter because I still visited family nearby regularly, then I was caring for my grandmother through the pandemic so in the area a few times a week, then I got a job 60miles away from home so was passing through the area regularly, so I never got around to changing it. I left that job at the start of October 2024, so there really has been no excuse for the past 6 months.
It was quick. It took less than 6 minutes to change. I've been meaning to get around to it for nine and a half years.
I might have to have a wine to celebrate!
This thread has literally changed my life.Debts 04/01/25 01/05/25

Well done @rachmac3 changing opticians - agree things like that take a huge effort.
Thanks for all the positive vibes surrounding my little patio garden but no way @PennysIntoPounds would I show more than an ankle to my neighbour! Good job I’m actually allergic to the sun so will actually spend any sunny days under a parasol (fully clothed).
Satisfying morning - scrubbed all the terracotta pots, hosed them and dried them in more glorious sunshine then squat them out of sight until the beginning of May when they’ll be filled with gorgeous summer plants … for slugs to eat.
Delightful aperitif time sat outside at our new patio table with a sneaky glass of Cremant (disclaimer we don’t go out much!).
Then disaster struck - my frog finally arrived having had to pay £4.60 surcharge postage and it was a snake. Flurry of emails and she is sending a frog and I can keep the snake which is nestled in my rockery appropriately menacing my neighbour now when he walks past to his door. I actually don’t like snakes but it was free and quite well made out of stone so Sid stops.
Finally my three planter galvanised metal stand arrived. Quite excited as it was well reduced from a reputable seller (the waiting rose garden shop) and matched a similar vertical one I already have. Opened it and the stand was covered in rust. Why are these things sent to try us? I’ve photographed and politely complained so let’s see.Tomorrow is a day of rest for me!Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

🥳 and 🥂 @rachmach3
@Blackcats do you have to spend money to get or redeem the recycling points? I've been looking it up but I'm still unclear
Highs and lows garden-wise there @Sallyforth!
Hopefully all will be sorted soon, and I am a big fan of Sid glaring at nosy neighbour.
Lovely to be able to have a nice glass of something while enjoying your space
I was mostly responding to things today but they were boring and stressful things that could easily have been rolled over so I'm pleased with myself for not slowing the mortgage broker/warranty provider processes on the grounds of 'I don't want to do that job'
Friday tomorrow, who's up for an end of week 'Let's get as much off the list as we can' push?
My additional tasks are nothing that'll sound impressive but are things that can easily not be done but I'll feel so much better for having done them.
Silly dull tasks like check if a portable computer drive works. This will take about 15 minutes and has taken up a disproportionate monumental task status in my head2 -
I'm definitely up for a Friday list busting effort.
PIP - I now have a post grad in boots recycling with a specialist interest in blister packs.
yes you have to spend a minimum of £5 to redeem your voucher and there is a monthly limit on how many vouchers you can get. Oh and you have to spend the voucher within 30 minutes of depositing the items in the recycling box 🙀. I am pleased to responsibly dispose of the blister pack and the voucher was a nice bonus.1
