Goodness @Sallyforth, that's a massive OAT scoffed. Well done you.
A nice problem to have but yes do double check and don't put it off and let it become another OAT!
I suppose it was quite a significant cut to interest when rates were lowered and across 36 (!) accounts would have taken the total earned down a chunk.
Did you do anything like filling ISA at both end and start of tax year last year so money was put away that you automatically thought would be needing to count as interest earned this year?

That is disgraceful, get yerself on an all-night bender 😂 I woke up at 6.15am today, a Saturday, and have been in a state of shock ever since 😁

A bit more progress on OATs for me today

    * had an email from Halfords - they have forwarded my request for increased compensation and will get back to me. I won't hold my breath

    * drafted a ranty email to the LPG people. Will edit and send tomorrow. That's taken most of my evening!

    * finished painting the hay box with decking oil  It looks nice  The top is really uneven, so rather than trying to create a well-fitting lid out of scrap wood, I'm going to make an insulated pillow for the top instead. The last hay box just literally had a pillow case stuffed with hay and that worked perfectly well

    * and an unplanned task - got down on my hands and knees to wipe the kitchen floor, and realised how grubby the baseboards under the cupboards were - these are set back a few inches so you can't see them properly when standing up. Gave them all a good scrub while I was down there!

Quite enough for one day, I think!

I was so motivated by getting another green tick on my March list that I have finally completed the necessary procedure to enable me to post my bowel screening kit.  Enough said ✅
I have mine to do. Sigh.

I've completely lost track of my OATs!
I do need to email the council tax people though, I've only put that off for a few days. And reply to an email about potential extra work. That's only a week old too.
I'll have to look back over my old posts, I'm sure my brain is accidentally on purpose hiding some from me.

Brilliant OAT work @Blackcats. These things are very, very important *puts on school ma'am voice* and I look forward to hearing that @beanielou has done hers in the next few days.
Good next list start @rachmach3, you've been smashing it

I was not feeling terribly energised today but have caught up on lots of steps, got a good few minor but very longstanding bits off the list, and big cleaned another room so pleased with that

Last day of March tomorrow folk, apart from all the usuals I have two different workmen appointments (dripping boiler and pest control) I have to wait in for/deal with, so I will see what the biggest OAT on the to-do list is and see what can be done about that. I am entirely bribing myself with a couple of beers in the local if I'm very achieving tomorrow 😁

Anyone else choosing a particularly tricky/boring/mighty OAT to round off us Marching Forward into Spring?

My biggest challenge will be trying to get DS to sort putting money into his pension before the 5th, money which guess who will be donating.  Well it is "only" £2880 a year & I can give £3k a year.  Just in case they reduce how much I can leave without IHT.  Then I will have the challenge of a repeat in the new tax year.

Oh dear my yesterday’s OAT re the 36 accounts to account bred prolifically today. It spawned a further 6 stupid little accounts and one big one that somehow my amateurish spreadsheet must have eaten. That was a fixed rate account paying a pretty decent monthly sum into my main bank account that had matured in January. My problem is I chase the best interest rates constantly but then keep a fiver in just so it’s easy to move money around - hence so many accounts. Anyhow I’ve come up with a more realistic £12k today which will still be low enough not to be due any tax - phew!

Tomorrow’s OAT is setting up a slicker spreadsheet for next tax year so I will have all this financial stuff at my fingertips. It should be more straightforward because between us we’ve maximised our fixed cash ISAs over the past 18 months to mitigate either of us being liable for tax. Although my DH is forecast to be taxed on c. £100 of his state pension despite me transferring the allowance I can as a non taxpayer!

Some amazing tasks completed by everyone - really well done.
