March Forward Into Spring

Hello all, there are a fair few of us on my diary being enthusiastic about spending the last two weeks of March supporting each other to be motivated to clear the decks before the clocks go forward, so if you'd like to join us in this dedicated diary please do so!
This may be dealing with a money issue that's been put off, setting an aim of a making or saving a certain amount, having a good old sort out in the home, or like me just being really annoyed at how many big, medium, and little tasks keep getting rolled over on the to-do list.
We all have different time and energy available in our day to day lives, so there are no set rules but @KajiKita highlighted a good rule of thumb;
Our aim is: choose a thing every day that's getting on our nerves in the background and do something about it!

@redofromstart has been doing wonderfully in general and is excelling at Smashing March
@Blackcats has given her in-tray ever such a look, and has not one but two BIG to-do lists
@Sun_Addict is being her usual enviously brilliantly productive self
@KajiKita is modestly managing approximately one thousand different things
@Spendywendywoo is A Woman On A Mission
@foxgloves has sorted out her entire in-basket and inbox, in one day
@Baileys_Babe is a woman after my own heart with the constant bits and the constant bobs needing doing and just looking at them with fresh eyes of 'you are getting done'
@Sallyforth has already put a ton of work into revamping the garden space and it sounds fabulous
My Smashing March aims for tomorrow are:
Finish up with a boring piece of work no-one but me is waiting on
Try on a pile of clothes and take pictures of ones to sell
Research a small piece of Wedgwood, take pictures, and list for sale

Can I join please
i got some white plastic noticeboard paper to stick on the top of the chest freezer so I could make an inventory of what was in there, and rub off when we had used it up.
The fact that the plastic keeps curling up at the corners has meant that the job has not been done.
Tonight I found the turkey joint from christmas that I had completely forgotten about .
I need to tape the bottom of the list down and then just write the damned thing out.
So thats a job for tomorrow8 -
Thank you for setting up @PennysIntoPounds! xSo I have some basic tasks today but also a few things that I’ve been putting off for a fair few weeks now;
* one wash (I’m up to date other than towels so will wash these today)
* empty dishwasher
* change energy supplier for a relative who I support, BG have closed their account with no forewarning and for no reason (it’s a split residence so think they’ve confused with the other property) but have done nothing to address - and the relative is vulnerable. This has been ongoing since January so needs resolving quickly as it’s causing me anxiety
* 3x work to dos - one I’ve been putting off preparing as it’s a meeting I lead with hundreds of people and it’s daunting
* make bread (for the first time ever) - this has been something I’ve wanted to do for a long while now, I made the mixture last night and it’s risen so I will make this tonight alongside making dinner
* put dry washing away (I can do numerous wash loads in a day but it takes 12-14 business days to put away in this house - it’s all contained in the utility room so out of sight out of mind until someone runs out of underwear 😂)
I did a brainstorm last night but want to approach it methodically so I’ve chosen a task that causing anxiety, a task I’ve wanted to do for a while, a work task (well 3) and a task that just needs doing 😂Mortgage (MFD 04/2053) (Jan 25) £238,983.71. I’m not sure I’m managing 1000 different things … ! 😂
There are multiple little things that are bugging me in the background, but the two larger things I would like to get done before the end of the month are:
- finally pick through all the bags of ‘desk stuff’ from my last 3 (??) job roles that are hanging around in my conservatory!- Clear and rehome the contents of the drawer and cupboard where we want to install the dishwasher!
Thank you for setting this up 😊

Thank you @PennysIntoPounds for starting this shiny new thread. Why I’m so excited about it is a mystery to my default procrastinator being. I’m guessing it’s because it bolts onto the first two weeks of March when I too made the decision to get things sorted.
I desperately need to get back into a routine of regular exercise and lose the stone that’s crept on over winter. Once all these niggly tasks are finished I can really make an effort starting at the beginning of April. I have resumed a weekly swim on Sunday mornings but need to work in gym, spin and yoga again building up to body pump classes in Summer. Sounds a lot but that’s what I did before DH suffered various health issues last year - the joys are of marrying a man 16 years my senior. Thirty four years ago the age gap seemed nonexistent!
Have a great day everyone and look forward to catching up on everyone’s doings this evening.Tilly Tidying andPADing in 2024 £250.62

RIP Mum & Dad - thanks for helping me on my journey to be
Debt and Mortgage free from 20187 -
I'm going to join in. I've no idea and the first thing I really need to do is get the piece of paper out from under my desk where it got thrown. It is an A3 sheet on which I was listing jobs for the year. I will get it out and pin it up in the office. This means clearing the office noticeboard.
so (1) clear board (2) get paper out (3) put up (4) continue with list
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!7 -
Thanks @PennysIntoPounds for starting this thread to motivate us through March.
Yesterday afternoon before cooking dinner my and OH decided to go out in the garden and make some progress, we didn't stay out as long as I hoped as it was a lot cooler than it looked and our fingers were getting cold and mine painful. We did manage to
😊 clear a wheelbarrows worth of brambles that are encroaching from the waste ground next to our house, 😊 the branches OH cut down at the weekend were chopped ready to go on our stove next winter when they are dry
😊 dismantled another 15% of the metal climbing frames that we are getting rid of.
Plans for today:
🏵️ Finally make a decision about 2 regular savers
🏵️ Set my potatoes up for chitting
🏵️ Read my magazine for half an hourFashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family5 -
I was feeling like I needed a kick up the bum too as I started off the year positively and the wheels have come off this month. I did see Dr Rangan Chatterjee give a talk on Sunday night and he is very inspirational about wellness and making small changes tailored to your lifestyle. I do feel more enthusiastic again since seeing him.Dr Rangan Chatterjee / Official Website
It looks like a lovely bright day and I had to get up early for an Amazon delivery so I have finished a book and tidied the kitchen while I waited. I'm trying to read 100 books this year so I just finished the 4th book this morning. I just cancelled my Kindle Unlimited subscription as I hadn't been using it so that runs out on the 9th of April so I will try and read only books from Kindle Unlimited until then.
I am about to have a shower and get dressed and then use my treadmill to get my heart rate up and then go for a walk outside as it is nice weather. I have to finish decluttering my wardrobe when I get back as I started yesterday and then stopped halfway. I am going to wear a coloured top rather than my usual black. I would like to get a few new Spring bits. I am getting a massage tomorrow so I will take a look in the charity shop before the appointment.2025 GOALS

Look at us all - a fabulous hive of activity!
I've continued working on my to do list - honestly it's not about task avoidance whilst writing a beautifully presented task list.
it's now written out neatly, in various segments : general admin 12 tasks / WTL which is our shorthand for "rude word" task list 24 tasks / 5 minute bursts 14 tasks, 1 per day for the rest of the month.

Welcome onboard @Debsnewbudget, that sounds a very useful task for today
Great list @Spendywendywoo. That is disgraceful about BG and your vulnerable relative, no wonder it's causing anxiety
Oh those two big tasks will be so satisfying to have got done @KajiKita
So much easier to incorporate exercise when it's warm and sunny, isn't it @Sallyforth
Mmm, lovely shiny clear noticeboard @Watty1 💫
Great work and great plan @Baileys_Babe
Ooh I love a declutter @Wednesday2000, and very envious of your massage! Good thought on choosing to wear a coloured top, it's these little things that keep us going through the day
Love your segments @Blackcats, and it's amazing how much progress can be made in five minute bursts
