On your printer set up - do you have a library nearby? The one near me charges 20p A4 sheet which may sound a lot but really how much printing do you do vs ink & potentially buying a new printer. If not a library, maybe somewhere else like a post office or printing shop?July 2024 £12,150 Aug 2025 B/Card £6,300, N/West £1,770, Halifax £1,182, Klarna £568, Sports Trip £335, Very £122 & HMRC GONE!!!! Thanks @Sun_Addict I think they will prove to be investments too
Thanks @biggerpickle I have a library nearby. I also have a print shop across the road. However, I can't seem to find a way to send the document to my email as an attachment that the library computer allows me to open without saving it to google documents. It always seems faffy! So I plan to print off one copy here then photocopy It elsewhere. You are right...the cost of ink cartridges etc...But, it is nice to be able to do the occasional printout at home. I'll probably keep it for now...if it works!
I planned to get up early, walk to Mr L and try for a vegbox but woke up too late... will try again tomorrow
Trying to get a GP appointment. I've been trying for a fortnight to no avail.
I'm slowly emptying the small bedroom of clutter. I should finish today.
Cold here...apparently it will get warmer as the week goes on.
I'm going for a walk later...cleaning...making soup...
Back yoga class this evening

Dia, they say confession is good for the soul! I have found this to be true, it's as if once you've come clean about something, it's like being absolved 😁4

Thanks @savingholms for reminding me I have got free stuff too this month to balance my costly spends
Thanks @Tresinia511 I strayed from the path of MSE righteousness but I am back on it
Yesterday I had poor energy. I have made the decision to have a fortnightly organic veg box. Expensive, but I see it as an investment in myself. I have cut down drastically on alcohol so the money saved will help balance the cost. My weight is piling on, but I won't be dieting. When I make veggies the majority of my diet I eat well and my weight comes down, but it takes loads of vegetables.
My back is twinging which always makes me feel vulnerable. Travel and the motion of trains do not agree with my back. At the weekend I spent 10 hours on a train so it isn't entirely unexpected...Anyway, I skipped yoga in case a move aggravates it. Will do the physio exercises instead.
The little I did felt a drag so the plan was an early night and early getting up and out. The plan worked. I walked (sea and a hill) to Mr L. I've clearly not been walking enough as the hill was hard! I feel much better today energy wise.
Veg box haul- 4 apples
- 5 large white onions
- 1 lemon/ 1 lime
- 11 potatoes
- 1 courgette
- 1 lg butternut squash
- 1 galia melon
- 1 yellow pepper
- 7 strawberries
- carton of plum tomatoes
I bought almond butter to stuff in a Medjool date for my new sweet treat as nice chocolate is getting too expensive and I eat too much of it. The rich dates are I'm possible to binge on...
See! eating better already.
The printer wouldn't work. Off to the library this morning, another walk...will see if I can get the alley form printed!
Hope your day goes as well as it can

Hope your back feels better soon dia. Veg box sounds great and I’m sure your weight will improve with the better food. I wonder if they sell those dates in aldee 🤔 My DM used to make a wonderful date and walnut cake. Wonder if just the dates & walnuts would satisfy my sweet tooth.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

I only seem to see medjool dates around at Christmas. They are 😋 where do you buy them?3

Thanks @Skint_yet_Again my back is nothing compared to before but twinged just enough to remind me it could become an issue again. That was enough to leave me feeling a bit vulnerable. I've done some back exercises this morning and moved a lovely woollen rug downstairs so I can exercise on it.
If you toast the walnuts before you stuff the date and add a sprinkle of flaked salt on top it is delicious! Buy Medjool dates the other type are much less satisfying
@Tresinia511 I buy a box of Medjool dates from marksies. They are expensive, but last well...
Today my new veg box came. It was excellent except for the carrots which were not fresh. I will give them a month, but at those prices, they have to be really good.
Up early as I'm going to bed much earlier.
Washing done and out drying.
Hoovered and moved furniture. Happier with the layout.
A tidying up day, and cleaning.
Will read. Later, I will go for a walk
Annoyingly, I'm being chased for £55 outstanding from the insurance debacle. So, will call them and pay it...
My new debt has been calculated and it has rocketed back up to £875. I'm ok with that. It is hardly unexpected...

It is sadly the trouble with carrots at this time of the year, they look fine in the shop and by the time you get home they are clearly festering. I am the same as you with the expensive veg box, at that price they had better be in the peak of condition. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I've found your new diary DIA and have subscribed!
First, I am very sorry to hear the sad news of your cousin and send my condolences to you and your family.
I am so pleased to read how happy you are in your new home and all the new, exciting things you have been doing. Living by the sea can't be beaten in my eyes - as you have probably surmised by now by my MSE name! My DD and I did an online test a few years ago to see the ideal place one should live. It was American but the result was that I should be living in a cottage by the sea in a Hamptons type little town by the sea and DD would be happiest somewhere rural in Washington State with mountains and forest! It was quite accurate apart from read the Highlands for Washington State and I would never be able to afford to live somewhere like the Hamptons - small cottage or not!😂😂😂x
