Hi dia, I so agree about buttons! Had a thing for them from a child when my mom knitted a cardigan for me and stitched the most divine buttons on with little butterflys 🦋 on. I still think about that cardigan to this day, and have always kept a keep a tin of unusual or beautiful buttons. My sons used to love matching, sizing and counting them when they were younger, a simple and timeless activity brings an inordinate amount of pleasure for sure x4

Thanks for the button joy @satcmo1, @Tresinia511 @dawnybabes ...Good to know I'm not the only one!
So, today I went to my sewing class. I'm very slow, working on a coat..It was fun stitching and talking...a very MSE activity as up cycling my coat!
I made a slow cooker meal veggies and chicken.
I did a wash and it dried enough to finish it off in the heat of the airing cupboard
The plan is to use up what I have in so tomorrow I will be making a spinach dal.
The mad spending item was delivered today. A beautiful bench that will be used on one side of my dining table. I already have 2 dining chairs so that is the dining seating situation resolved. It is hard to regret the purchase as I love it so much. The debt will increase but not done the tally yet, although I have psychologically gone back into frugal mode.
I brought my hand weights and stretchy bands downstairs to store in a large basket. I prefer to exercise in the living area.
Changed my bedding back to my quilt as it is cold again here...

Dia functional beauty is nothing if not divine pleasure, and its price therefore becomes an investment rather than a cost x3

That sounds to me like a practical purchase not a frivolous one, so no regrets needed! Especially if it's something that brings loads of joy. To my mind, if you can, it's better to spend on an item that is right and brings you joy rather than spending less on something that 'makes do' but you don't really like it."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Thanks @Tresinia511 what a beautiful sentiment, and sentence too
Thanks @jwil it was indeed practical and it is so beautifully made. There is a fabulous place very nearby. They go abroad to buy the items and post the date they will be back and reopen. I live very close by, so went in when they opened and chose the best of the two. The 2nd went the same day so I'm glad I did not hesitate. As you say the item was 'right.' No delivery costs as the shop owner took one end and I took the other and we took it in and placed by the dining table! I now have enough seating to begin to invite people for meals
Today it looks like rain, but not sure when. I am meeting a friend and her dog and we are off to a nature spot with a lovely cafe attached. In best frugal behaviour I am packing a flask and taking a few Medjool dates and some dark chocolate, so a NSD for me. Funnily enough I have the bench so don't mind
PART 2 OF SPENDY CONFESSION
...is I bought a (small) painting from my friend's private show. She kindly offered instalments, so spending includes 1/3rd of a painting on my credit card. That is it! All my spending spree confession comes to an end!
I am off to make a breakfast made of odds and ends.
I have prepped a soup of bottom of fridge veggies and some left over red quinoa and miso

I went for my walk. I walked non stop for three hours. I foraged for wild garlic. I will be making wild garlic and potato soup and wild garlic dal. It is soaking in a bowl with salty to clean it.
I didn't take a flask but we didn't go to the cafe either.
I bought a cauliflower and some mushrooms on the way home £2.20 spent.
Tonight I am going to see if I can set up the printer. If it won't work at least I know and then it can go and I won't keep thinking of it as something I need to do.
I need to clean the kitchen and put some more things in the loft room.
Later, I will do a new exercise video
A busy week coming up. That is ok. It will keep my mind off spending

It sounds like both the recent spends are good investments especially if they make you happy admiring them.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3
