I should do this!
Thanks @biggerpickle for sharing your 'caulking experience' I hadn't heard of caulk until the plasterer mentioned it. Enjoy your spudsbiggerpickle said:It's lovely isn't it when a repair become easier than you think! Am a big fan of caulk as just done gap filling round my kitchen windows - when the replacement windows were put in way before I was here, I discovered there were gaps hidden by the plastic coving when I removed some kitchen tiles. I couldn't believe I could see through to the outside and that wouldn't have helped my chilly kitchen. DP and I levered off the coving round the other window last week and have done that, best part of 3 tubes of caulk!!! Added bonus road noise is less now too.
Thought of you yesterday @doingitanyway as I picked up the 7kg sack of spuds using the monthly freebie veg voucher at my / our supermarket of choice - I'd always got something else until you mentioned the big bag of spuds, total no-brainer! I only just finished the early Dec bag as had them covered outside which seems to keep them OK.
Aw thank youChrystal said:Lovely to hear that you seem to be settling in and finding your feet with your guests
You are doing so well, and I'm chuffed that things are working out so well for you. (((hugs))) XXX

I nearly had a good day, despite continual rainfall (it is STILL raining as I type.) It has been raining since yesterday...
I spent the day decluttering.
Clearing floorspace in my bedroom
Ironing (I had to as creased clothes everywhere) I managed 40 minutes but now have a bag for un-ironed clothes
Cheese omelettes for guests with boiled potatoes and pickles went down well
Soup made and a veggie curry
I ate well no junk today
I had a NSD
I was feeling quite pleased with my day until an hour ago when a door jammed shut. I can't open it so I have called the handyman who will come tomorrow morning. I am pleased I have a handyman. Pleased he can come tomorrow. Pleased I have the money to pay him. And yet really I'm grumpy about the stupid door and having to pay to get it open!
I hope your day ended on a better noteIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Aah dia, how far have you travelled.....everyday problems have become just that, everyday. This is a massive thing as at many times in the past this seemingly irritating problem would have been felt as much more painful. Well done you x4

Thank you for remembering. Once, I struggled even to have tradespeople in my home, so yes, I have come a long way...Tresinia511 said:Aah dia, how far have you travelled.....everyday problems have become just that, everyday. The stupid door is now opened. The tradesperson has been paid. It cost me £20 and took 10 minutes but he had to come out so I think that is ok.
The ups and downs of my life...today I heard from my neighbour, the one with the cracked guttering. Last week I plucked up the courage to knock on his door and tell him the corner of my house was going mouldy as water was pooling in the corner. I put a big bin there to collect the water but it overflows. Anyway, exactly one week later he messages me to say the job has been done and to let him know if there are any more problems with it. I'm very pleased. Judging by the wall this damage has been going on for years so I am hopeful it will dry up now?
This weekend (if it stays dry) I will go out in the garden and give it a clean and get rid of the water and the bin.
I immediately transferred the houseguest money to savings. I now have £1,300 in my EF
A long walk to meet friend and discovered there is a farmer's market next week
There is a pop up selling sheepskin slippers tomorrow, so I am looking forward to going there.
The guests leave in the early hours so I will be up late so I can see them off
I have done well this week and I have not felt stressed by having my guests
I hope your week ended well
