Thank you. Like you I pay CT over 10 months so I hope to boost my EF a little more very soonSkint_yet_Again said:Great news on the wet wall & EF dia 🤗 You are doing so well with approaching neighbours and tradesman. Have a lovely weekend
Thank you... despite having a wet wall for a year I am glad I waited. I'm hoping the neighbour is the sort who might be helpful to have next doorPennysIntoPounds said:Well done on a brilliant day; door fixed for twenty quid, neighbour having sorted issue with no drama, a lovely looking emergency fund, and your home back tomorrow after an excellent hosting session 🥂
Thank you... you have alerted me to my pattern of initial foreboding then (usually/nearly always) the feeling dispersing...joeyjimbles said:I'm so glad to see your efforts being well repaid in all areas.

I really appreciate your posts as you have all been here long enough to know just how stressful I have found these things in the pastSun_Addict said:All sounding good 😊If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Yesterday and today I have been enjoying my space back.
I went for a long walk. I started out achey with sore joints and a twinging back. I came back much less achey and joints and back not hurting, but it took a while for that to happen. It made me wonder a long walk a day is better for me than several short ones.
I enjoyed watching TV on the sofa with my heated throw. I even bought popcorn after researching air fryer popcorn but couldn't be bothered making it in the end
I bought some slippers yesterday. They are leather and sheepskin so they cost a bit although they were on sale. My previous fave ones cost over twice as much but lasted 3 years. I have a cold house so new slippers were a necessary cost. They are lovely but lets see how they last...I have also bought a housecoat, gloves, trainers and two other clothing items over winter. All were on sale. I have decided this is ok IF I sell things I don't wanted on Minted so that is my next challenge. I know this has been on my list for a while but I usually get there in the end so...
Finances need rejigging and I have a holiday coming up so I am challenging myself to be much more frugal with my food budget. I am pausing my veg box until after my holiday (done) especially at this time of year there are lots of root veggies and fewer above ground veggies. I will still eat organic veggies as Lidlees does a good enough range
There have been frogs jumping up this week that I ignored as I didn't want to over stress myself when I had houseguests so they will have to be tackled this coming week.
I have also learnt that if I can create tasty frugal food for guests I can do the same for myself. In fact I overspend on food for myself so In will be cutting back
That is me caught up.
I bought 12 eggs that were reduced but have a 24th BB date. I have left over boiled potatoes so it is looking like a tortilla for later on. Some beautiful leaves came in the salad box so I will make a salad too

Regarding your egg 'haul'
I made old-fashioned Be-Ro recipe book bacon and egg pie on Friday for FIL - MIL made it most weeks and he missed it. I used 3 large eggs and it will do him at least 4 lunches with a few things on the side - his favourites are either baked potato with beans, or a pile of potato salad, coleslaw, salad veg and (my) homemade piccalilli. The recipe is available online.4 -
You are doing brilliantly @doingitanyway! Feel the fear and do it anyway. Is that where your name on here comes from? Love Humdinger xx2

As above, you’re doing so well!2

Thanks @joeyjimbles home made piccalilli sounds lush. You reminded me there are other options so I might try a crustless quiche

Thanks @Humdinger1 and yes, you guessed it. That is where my name comes from!
Thank you @liselle for the encouragement
I felt bad pausing my vegbox as they are a small outfit but I need to cutback...they replied and seemed ok with it...

I tackled my frogs and To do. I had to travel to branch to sort my bank admin but I combined it with my walk so all good. My frogs and list took most of the day. In addition I brought a few food shopping items and some chocolate...
I phoned a local dentist and it seems I can use a hygienist as a stand alone. This might be helpful. It isn't any cheaper but it is more convenient so I want to try it. I will book tomorrow. I didn't get through to my own dentist so will do that tomorrow too.
I've noticed my BB is still cutting out but comes back on in a few minutes every time. I still can't face this one so I will tackle it as a frog tomorrow...
I struggled to get ups this morning because of all the things I did not want to do. I really had to push to do things today.
My finance reconcile shows I owe 360 to my CC. So not doing as well as I thought...I could pay it off from savings but I want to protect my savings. It isn't due until the end of Feb so my plan is to pay it off in full before then...

Oh I'm sorry for not realising about the Gluten Free - DS1's partner is coeliac so I am used to checking. Unfortunately I have not yet succeeded in making decent GF pastry but I can recommend the Jus-Rol one - and it is very often YS in both my local supermarkets.3
