Just catching up. Fantastic result on the personal training. Almost inspired me to look at our local colleges - but - will save that until I'm feeling better.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
Ah but at least you’ve finished the tasks now, freeing you to do other, more enjoyable,things.2

Haha, I know, life is quite boring most of the time I knowbeanielou said:I’ve had a PJ day.
But, I feel I have the Small Income by the Sea bit covered (well sort of) but I want to address the Living Large bit too. I didn't call my diary Loads of Drudgery and Losing the Will to Live by the Sea...So, I need to think about what living large, might realistically look like for me...and isn't necessarily a money thing...
Yes, do look up the colleges. Mine does beauty treatments and has a fab restaurant too at a fraction of the usual price...and now the PT sessions. Thinking of Living Large on a Small Income...the college is part of making that possible. Do look at your nearby colleges and wishing you wellWatty1 said:Just catching up. True @jackieblack,but I'm sharing a bigger truth, and trying to work out what I want from life be it January or May or August...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Fair enough, I find it hard to look at the bigger picture this time of year... I give myself a temporary pass knowing I'll feel more positive once the days are longer and the skies brighterdoingitanyway said:True @jackieblack,but I'm sharing a bigger truth, and trying to work out what I want from life be it January or May or August...Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur3 -
'I didn't call my diary Loads of Drudgery and Losing the Will to Live by the Sea' really made me laugh. Good for you 🥂

Dia, you can call daily living tasks drudgery or reclassify them as self care. You have said how it calms you to ' put the kitchen to bed'. If a chaotic and disordered living space stresses you then the antidote surely is cleaning it. For example, how do you perceive cleaners.? Employed ones I mean. Do you think these jobs are menial or essential to the smooth and ordered running of things. It's possible to think of and value these things for their own sake than think of them as punishment. And for what it's worth i think the 5 minute or 15 minute alarm is highly effective. As you have found. So, well done you, on looking after your own little nest x5

I read in a book that doing 'chores' is a gift to your future self so that you can relax and not have to worry about it. So your 'today self' will thank 'yesterday you' for leaving you a nice clean kitchen. I really like that idea."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee9
