I walked up the hill to lidlies. I have lost fitness as it felt hard! I bought a veg box, not a brilliant one as too many carrots but I will do roasted carrots and parsnips with feta as a side dish for something or other
My eating has been awful so trying to get back to healthy eating. I bought some nice dates to stop me mainlining chocolate...
Yoghurt and fruit for breakfast, soup for lunch and will make a new batch of veggie soup later...
So, the WM not working made me feel anxious. There is something about a tubful of wet washing and an unusable WM. I envisaged a stressful interaction with the shop owner. In fact the shop owner came back home with me and fitted the rubber shock absorbers. It seems ok for now, but I will keep an eye on it.
I still feel a little bit low mood and anxious. I had a nice bath and I've treated myself to some nice teas. Staying away from coffee for a bit to see if it helps. The house guests arrive tomorrow, maybe that is making me edgy. Anyway, I am treating myself nicely...fairy lights, nice tea, salt baths...onwards and upwards...

I'm with you on mainlining chocolate and trying to cut back on it!
Loads of good stufff happening, resisting family hints, approaching neighbours and dealing with the washing machine, plus a break to look forward to!
I hope all goes well with the house guests

When the final christmas chocolate is gone I too will be giving it up!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
I won't 😂🥂
Glad the WM got sorted and you had a good interaction with the shop owner.
Bound to make you feel a bit odd, having new people in your home and the responsibilities and boundaries that come with it. You've smashed it before and will do so again, and your savings will look all lovely and shiny 😊https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase/p1

I wonder if like me you are more apprehensive and worked up before something happens, but then feel better when you are 'in the fight' if you see what I mean.
I hope your self care does the trick, and you feel more comfortable when your visitors arrive.5 -
Thanks @jwil when you look at it like that things are actually ok

Thanks @Watty1 I have eaten so much chocolate lately!!
Thanks @PennysIntoPounds I think that is it: new people in my space...but yes, I will think of the boost to my savings next weekend
Thanks @joeyjimbles yes, I am definitely better 'in the fight' I hate limbo land!
The good thing about new people coming is it forces me to review and clean the house. I realised I need an extra heavy duvet. It can wait until one is on sale...The rooms are done and look lovely. I had turned one into a dumping space but it is a bedroom again now. I was going to buy some heated throws for the rooms but it would have cost £100 for the two. I bought hot water bottles instead for £23. They have cosy covers that are washable.
I still need to clean the kitchen, but they are not due until late.
Guests are away on a trip tomorrow, so I will do a chorizo and butterbean stew with garlic bread as the stew can reheat whilst the bread goes in the oven.
My dressing gown/housecoat arrived. It isn't the one I initially wanted but this one will be better for the rest of the year when it isn't so cold. It is nice and long. I bought it a size bigger so it has extra wrap-around. It was half the price of the one I wanted initially, but still expensive I think...
Feeling a bit less edgy

Dia, I too buy housecoats the next size up just for the extra wrap around! There is simply no place for a housecoat that doesn't cover everything on first pass 😁 and also comes right low down the legs3
