My DH made the mistake decades ago of saying he found ironing "meditative". So he's in a state of weekly zen....
When a friend heard this she asked if I'd proposed immediately on hearing this extraordinary pronouncement!
    Love this 🤣

I just steam everything - apart from cotton shirts/blouses which need a proper iron to get a nice crisp look!

    Thank you all!
I have a confession to make. I agree with you all, well that is my excuse for not doing the ironing after all  :D

More thanks are due for the electricity saved and my to do list reduced by the unanimous decision not to do the ironing  :D

Today was successful. After a year chickening out of asking my neighbour about their broken guttering, I rung their bell. I explained about the guttering. The neighbour gave me their number and asked me to send the film. (thanks to @PennysIntoPounds for suggesting I take a little film) The neighbour seemed really nice. Hopefully they will get it sorted. I am very pleased with myself mostly, for finally plucking up the courage. I should have done it sooner, but at least I have done it now.

In other news instead of doing my ironing I booked a mini break. A friend is coming but I would have been just as happy to go alone. I can see why people like @Sun_Addict and @Sunshine_girl2 always have a holiday booked for some date in the near future. It really has cheered me up! I am mindful of savings for 2026 but I will be booking inexpensive mini breaks in Europe and in the UK. I will also be taking day trips more regularly.

I made a new discovery today, a French man in the market who sells cheese, much nicer than the posh cheese shop on my road.

A relative hinted heavily about their financial situation, but I must have turned a corner as I did not pick up the bait. Progress.

MSE finances I should keep my EF intact if I can manage on £100 for the next 2 weeks

I hope the weather isn't too dramatic where you are. Cold, windy and now the rain has started here!
