Chase Cashback changing

Similar, but using the Santander Edge CC.SuzeQStan said:We took advantage of the Lloyds ultra credit card which offers 1% cashback on purchases for 12 months (we’ve had cashback
on every item we have bought in the last 4 months) we pay in full every month and expect to have a decent chunk of cashback when it pays out in January.LLOYDS cc is similar to Chase for fee free overseas use.Not really sure why I’ve kept the Chase acct open - probably laziness - haven’t used it in a long time.
One reason to keep the Chase account is free overseas ATM cash withdrawals - £500 a day is unusual, might never be needed, but is nice to have for free JIC.3 -
Anyone else using Trainpal and not getting cashback?

It's an issue that has been reported before.HillStreetBlues said:Anyone else using Trainpal and not getting cashback?
Trainpal don't use a merchant code that falls within their cashback criteria.1 -

Unless there's a specific reason you want to use Trainpal, you can buy rail tickets from umpteen sources
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
TCB 3% sometimes 6%

So with the "rules" for Chase changing again, has anyone done some "maths" on the pros/cons for the new criteria (I'm not sure I trust my maths sometimes!)? This is for now 2% cashback on groceries, fuel and some restaurants now.
I believe you now have to make 15 purchases (or Direct Debit) per month and keep £1,000 in a savings account (2.25%).
I currently have Zopa for their saving rates, so any spare funds are kept there until needed. And use some other offers for cashback on food shopping.
Am I right that £1000 for a month the difference between a 2.25% savings and 4.45% would be ~£1.83. Then is a "normal" fuel/food shops for the month of around ~£500 this would have been £5 cashback but would now be £10 cashback.
So in this case I would be better off by ~£3.17
{Old is £5 cashback and £3.71 interest; then new would be £10 cashback and £1.88 interest}
Thanks to all posters1 -
Think your numbers are spot on.
Lot of discussion about this on a new thread about the updated (June 26) Chase deal
