Happy green day, here it is an other cold day.
I am grateful I got old defunct dishwasher put out on the curb yesterday, and the 'metal scrappers ' have already taken it.
Saved me £25.
And I had a chance to clean the space and check how it was installed so I can diy install the new one, which is delivered for free, from a local dealer. Saving more £££ by installing it myself. I gave up on buying a second hand one though, so it is a sparkly new one.
Happy Monday everybody.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

I think today was nsd#10 for me. The photos of the light event look fab! Can’t remember who posted them now. Everyone seems to be doing so well this March. I feeling headachey and like I have a cold today. Hate feeling poorly. Been to work but hoping that an early night will clear it and I’ll feel better tomorrow.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #8210

Well this month is being .....erm, eventful... police involvement in smallest's school. He has had to make written statements.. I have been advised to drive him in and back.. for his safety... it did not work out so well today, as my car battery decided to die on the school car park, and DS4 decided he was going to go home on the bus .... just after 5pm DH came to rescue me, complete with a power bank for my fading phone, but failed to start the car.3 hours after ringing him, Mr RAC arrived, jump started me, told me to get a new battery ASAP. To be fair it has happened twice in just under 4 years. Unexpected £70 on a car battery tonight. DH will fit it.It all feels utterly chaotic right now.

Having trouble with our health services here also. So far this month, they have referred me to a doctor who died five years ago, referred my roommate to a doctor who hasn't worked for that office in two years and whose old office no longer takes her insurance, sent a referral to get a special leg pillow from other company - that has never made that product, and today hadn't sent a referral through to the place to do her ultrasound though we had the referral from the doctor (they had called us to make the appointment and when we got there, we were sent home, three hours later). Sometimes I don't think any company is getting anything right any more. I am just so tired anyway all of the time, and then the medical people just make it worse. This is the Book Sale week for the Friends of the Library and I am way behind on getting ready for it. My get-up and-go left home months ago and hasn't been seen since. Neither leg is working well (legs going in the wrong direction, shooting pains) and the arms are having problems - and I am expected to clean the house, take care of other roommates, and raise some money to pay bills. I feel like grandmanerd and I have a lot in common (including roommates who can't ever help out). Feel like giving up and hibernating till summer.10

Monday started with a leak. Not a huge one but it had been happening a while and had filled the space behind the back door. I threw a large piece of cardboard at it and told Mr Builder when he arrived. He fixed it but made a second hole in the pipe and had to make a hole in the bathroom wall which will need covering (he's going to leave that to the man who built the frame and did the beautiful plastering). He and Mrs Builder then finished covering the kitchen ceiling in cladding.
I was on my own yesterday as the wall cladding is only being delivered today. I spent most of the morning sleeping - woke up several times and just couldn't stay awake (sore throat is back and I've been under par for a few days). I tried to post on here but gave up when the laptop slid onto the floor for about the fifth time. Very grateful for all the yummy food I had made because just going to the kitchen to spoon some into a bowl was hard.
DS2 had messaged about the mobility scooter, then DS3 came down to ask about it (DS1 messaged him) so we went outside to check on it. DS3 moved the large garden table it was hiding behind. Some leaves had got in under the tarpaulin and some of the metal parts have spots of rust. I knew where the key was and it inserts and turns smoothly but must need charging up.
The charger was in the kitchen and moved into the front room with everything else but we couldn't locate it (tried several boxes and containers). DS1 had apparently been saying "Did he have to come here himself and find it", so I sent him a sharp email telling him that if the charger was in one of the boxes in the kallax cubes he would have to wait until the work on the kitchen/ new bathroom was complete as I wasn't having the living room (complete with kitchen bedroom and living room contents) turned upside down to find one thing. I would continue to look but could only manage a few minutes at a time. He apologised.
Going to have my pills and put the bin and recycling out now.
Grateful for yummy food, entertaining podcasts and games, DS3 helping move thins I haven't been able to.10 -

Sorry to hear that everyone is feeling down at the moment. My week started with a terrible cold, which included a banging headache. It’s starting to fade now but I have been lacklustre this week. No additional spending so at 11 nsds. I agree with everyone, it feels like the world is in chaos now and no service or system can cope.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #8210

Happy Wednesday!
Let's see what the rest of the week brings. I have my Positive Head firmly pulled on.
Yesterday I zapped a box of books 📚 for money ( only £8, but my £8 )
Sent 4 bags of books into charity.
Recycled some ragbag clothing.
Recycled the used cooking oil at the tip, and got rid of all broken and smashed phones, and a pot of dead batteries 🔋 .
So things were removed.
Control the things you can control.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Good morning guys
I’m another one that is full of a cold, DS2 and DS1 is too but OH hasn’t succumbed yet but probably will. The paige boy and one of the flower girls were quite snotty ( as littlies usually are 😀) at DS1s wedding, but they were very cute nevertheless. I’m not back at work till tomorrow so I’m hoping it will have dried up by then.
Now the wedding is over its full frugal mode to get the CC down. The balance for the French hol is due next month.
My online shop arrives today and with us being away at the weekend I need to rotate the freezer and cupboards and do a menu plan. Apart from that I’m just going to veg out to fight this cold off.
So today I’m grateful for the wedding going really well (we’ve been to wedding where the families don’t bother mixing ) Also for a lovely blue sky and a week to payday and I’ve still got money in the bank.
Hugs to those that need them
Cuddles

Hello everyone, I've just finished catching up with the last 10 days of posts. Sorry to hear most of you have been unwell and lots has been happening, but at the same time that's pretty much what happened here too! Last time I wrote I felt a cold developing, and I was flying to Ireland to visit a friend. Unfortunately, the cold fully developed by the time I was travelling, and I was feeling quite dreadful. the whole time I was there, I was feeling full of cold and really struggling with finding the energy to engage and not being a vegetable, with Sunday probably being the worst day. On the Monday my friend couldn't drop me off at the airport (although she had promised), so I had to endure an almost 2 hours bus journey plus 3 hours wait at the airport. OH couldn't pick me up because with his bad eye he doesn't feel comfortable driving at night, so I had to spend almost £60 for a cab, as I couldn't even fathom taking 2 trains to get home, after such a long day and exhausting weekend. On top of that, I lost my very sentimentally precious bracelet on the plane, probably because I was feeling to tired I didn't even notice I lost it. All in all, I should have stayed home...
The day after coming back I had to be in the office, and then again two days later, so it was quite a tough week, as I was still a bit sick with the cold and soo tired, which I still am now. Saturday another friend came visiting me from Sweden, and we had a lovely weekend, although I didn't rest much, as we went down to Kent to see another friend on Sunday. We had a very lovely day, and we didn't want it to end, but it was also a bit expensive, which would have been ok if I hadn't had to spend all that I spent the weekend before coming back from Ireland. Yesterday I was in the office, and today, finally, home having a bit of a slower day.
OH called the doctor again on Monday, to see if he could be seen more quickly, as he feels the eye has got even worse in the past month, and the lady at the reception said there were no appointments for the next 3 months. He then proceeded with a bit of begging and she found 2 appointments closer, one next week and one yesterday (the day after). so he went to the hospital yesterday and he spend a few hours there with all tests being done and he is now all ready for the operation, which is a relief. They put him on the urgent list, as the doctor confirmed is definitely cataracts and quite severe already, so now he only has to wait to be called in. We do not know how long that can be, but at least is one step closer. I am feeling a little bit more serene about it, as they have done a proper thorough test this time, and actively excluded other potential causes, so the problem is "only" cataracts, and thankfully there is a solution for that.
Today I am grateful for being home, feeling finally better from my cold despite tired (I managed to infect OH who also infected my friend while she was here, I feel so sorry, I really did all I could not to spread it around!) and for the lady who found the appointment for OH.
I am a bit behind on NSD's after the unexpected weekends frolics, so today was NSD #7.Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:
