NST March 25: Scooby Doo!

NST March 2025: Scooby Doo!

What - or who - do you think of when you read the title? Shaggy? Scooby? Velma? Daphne? Or Fred? Adventures? The Mystery Machine? Food? Unmasking the baddies (who would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!)?

Welcome to March.

Seek adventures - planned or spontaneous. 'Adventure' is different for each person. It can be
'an unusual and exciting or daring experience' or exploring a new footpath or doing something that takes you out of your comfort zone.

Confuse the baddies. You know who the baddies are, right? The financial institutions who will cheerfully fleece you. Confuse them by having clarity of purpose - know what you are doing with your hard-earned cash and give them as little as possible. Have a cunning plan (thank you Baldrick!) to do with your money as you see fit and reach your targets/goals.

Outside. Get yourself outside as much as you can. The spring flowers are poking through, buds are appearing on the trees and bushes, the days are getting longer. Walk as much as you can - it is soooo good for your mental health.

Ostrich. Known for hiding their heads in the sand and running extremely fast.Tackle one issue that keeps falling down the to-do list and turn it into a ta-da! moment.

Body. You have one and only one. Look after it. I associate Scooby Doo and Shaggy with always being hungry! Eat to nourish and love your body. You know - veggies, fruit, simple food. Take time each day to show yourself some love - moisturise, relax tense muscles, laugh.Look after your mental health. And be grateful.

Yes or no. Look at the month ahead and don't overcommit yourself. Say 'no' to things/people that drain you and 'yes' to things/people that energise you and make you happy. Maybe reconnect with friends of yore?

Debt free. If you have had debt and become debt free, you know the relief and freedom that brings. The same with a mortgage. Look at your repayment plan and see if you can bring the freedom forwards. If you have no debt and are struggling to find the motivation to save, choose something you want to do/buy and get started on a plan for how to save for it.

One by one. We all have good habits (yay!) and bad habits (boo!). Give your good habits some love and build them up.  Say 'off with his head!' to the bad ones (not strictly Scooby Doo themed!). Life is lived one day at a time - plan for the future but enjoy the present. Take steps towards your goals.

Ordinary or extraordinary? You may fell that you are insignificant and don't matter, you may get overlooked, imposed upon. Know that as part of the Ninja Saving Turtle gang you are outstanding, unique, special and already extraordinary. No turtle gets left behind or alone. Try to pop on each day and let us know what you're up to.

The Scooby Doo gang adapt to the twists and turns of life and I'll bet they get 14 NSDs in March (usual caveat applies: NSD not lost if you buy only reduced items and nothing else, or travel expenses or medical expenses)

We have 31 days aboard the Mystery Machine. Who will join me? There are seats for all and a chaise longue for the tough times.
