Good evening!
Congratulations on the working 🚽 and 🧼 grandmanerd (there is no sink emoji haha)
Have had a few low energy days, so have been taking it easy. That said I managed to go out and still spend on both Monday and Tuesday 🤨 Today I hit my first NSD 🎯
I am trying to rewire my brain for abundance instead of the scarcity mindset I think I've had whilst in debt for so long. I realise I feel incredibly guilty spending any money on myself. I have watched a few videos on YT and read a few blogs and apparently it is quite common after being in debt. I think the long and short of if it is - balance in all things. As long as I have covered my expenses and put aside some for future expenses (could be an emergency fund, or getting a month ahead etc) then it is ok to spend. Obviously whilst I was in debt I needed to cover those expenses too. However - we are here to live life too - and not hoard until we are too old and frail to enjoy it - like my Dad has done, bless him. So I am working on embracing an abundance mindset - you'd think it would come naturally given I call myself 'Abundant' haha. The irony 😅 Answers on a postcard please...
Today I am grateful for:
1) A day of reflection
2) Food in my cupboards, fridge and freezer
3) The love and support of friends and family
Today = NSD number 1 <gets out party poppers> 🥳
Have a lovely evening folks x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Hi guys
Today I have been grateful for DS2 cooking tea, a decent day at work and making it to 42 years of marriage.

Congratulations on 42 years, cuddlymarm 🎉🎉🎉I got myself out and about on foot and tram today, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Then I did some tidying up in the garden , getting ready a rather big pile of stuff to take to the tip tomorrow. We don't have garden waste collections here, unless you pay, and I'm not sure we'd be allowed it as we're a non wheelie bin area!Today I am grateful for a relaxed gym sesh, for finding eggs in liddle, for bumping into a friend, for my brownies, for the garden looking better.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

Cuddlymarm congratulations on your anniversary.
Grateful for
Annual leave today.
Going to my favourite cafe for my large cappuccino - did save 50p for bringing my own reusable cup.
Did not buy anything that was not on my shopping list, even though I was tempted.

Grateful today for the sun making an appearance, for warmer winds quickly drying DS’s bedding after a wee (literally) accident in the middle of the night, for a nice walk over to Mum’s for lunch, and for making progress on getting on top of the housework… started some spring cleaning…much dust dusted.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸8

Happy anniversary @cuddlymarm.
Sorry I've been AWOL. Had nearly 20hours without broadband, plus 2 exhausted evenings, so too tired to post!
Great to hear everyone's good news!
I'm now on NSD#2.
I've forgotten who said about paying to credit card or emergency fund. Think I would do credit card, as less interest to pay. Would be charged a bigger % in interest than you'd get on savings. The savings you make this way in the future, can then go to your emergency fund.
Had some great simple pleasures this week. Spotted 2 primroses on a walk on Monday, there are now 4 x 2 along the edge of the field! Lots of marsh marigolds flowering in a ditch too. Today we have frogspawn in both our ponds 😀 Sure I heard a skylark on Sunday.
And best of all, I met a friend after work on Tuesday to go swimming. Neither of us has been in a pool for years, me not in a pool without children or my glasses for 23 years!! (Could hardly see anything, so glad my friend was with me!) Tried a little swim & thought "I can't do it!". Took a couple of steps back & swam to the side, & I could do it! We did 12 widths each 🥰 so proud. We both had a very stuff shoulder (hers after having breast cancer surgery) & the swimming eased them. Mine now feels like I've almost got a new shoulder!! Will definitely be going again, when I feel my shoulder super tense again!
Grateful for nature, DS3 getting good news from the surgeon (just needs a small simple op), swimmingUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

It was me who asked @Thrifty_Taylor thank you for sharing that with me. This is the option I'm leaning towards too, I've done a bit of repayment and interest calculations and I'm more and more convinced that's what I'll be doing.
This evening I'm flying to Ireland to spend the weekend with my friend, really looking forward to it, but at the same time I'm a bit annoyed because yesterdayI had a sore throat and this morning I started developing a full cold. I went to bed extra early last night, and slept almost 10 hours, which is totally not usual me, and it definitely helped, but still I'm not looking forward on flying with a full cold (especially landing) and it is going to dampen the excitement of the weekend a little bit. I wanted to take a lemsip cold and flu this morning, but it's expired in 2023 (both OH and I rarely get sick - which adds to my annoyance: I have so much time to have a cold and being home, why on earth the one weekend I am away?) and I don't think it would be a good idea to take it. So for now I've taken an ibuprofen (that's always in date in my house) and I will buy a cold and flu remedy at the airport and take it tonight before bed. I do prefer to take the one with hot water, I feel it does the job better, despite the disgusting taste.
I told my friend that I'm developing a cold and she said it's fine, luckily she's not like another friend of mine who never let me stay at her house even with the tiniest cough. She also said she has a sore throat too today, so that's that, we probably are on the same boat anyway. I told her I will not be kissing her family or the children, obviously I do all I can to try and minimize spreading the germs. I also have a mask in my bag which I will be wearing on the plane, if I'm not sitting alone, as I want to be considerate of others.
Apart from that, work has been quiet and I am so glad I took the Monday off next week, so it will be a short week, but intense, with 2 days in the office and a department town hall. I'm now counting the weeks until the next school break, as I live near a school and in this time of year I really get fed up with all the road being blocked every morning and every afternoon by cars, and obviously if the weather gets warm quickly and I have to keep the windows open it can get quite disruptive when I'm trying to work. according to my calculations, I will not have to endure any school-related activity for most of April, as the school will be closed from the 4th April until after Easter, and since I've taken 2 weeks off to go to my mum's from Easter until the 1st May Bank Holiday, that makes it a whole month. My ears (and my lungs) are already grateful.
Today I am grateful for the long weekend awaiting me, one more sunny and mild day, cold and flu medications.
Today will not be a NSD as I will be buying some snacks at the airport.Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:

Hi guys
Not much to say today. Quiet at work today, all small sales but quite frankly I think people are holding on to their money as much as possible.OH made corned beef hash for tea 😋
I knocked another £5 off my CC but no NSD I’m afraid
So today I’ve been grateful for a nice tea, one of my volunteers bringing me a Manchester tart and for a nice evening in front of the tv.

Get well soon laura_lau - I hope you still have a lovely time with your family.
Yesterday was a NSD. Had my fitness assessment for my post surgical rehab and I did ok. I got the all clear to ramp up my weights a bit more. Today saw a good friend and we went food shopping with out money-back apps. We had a laugh too which was good medicine.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Good times with my friend
2) Money back offers
3) Coming home to my little apartment
