Today I am grateful for getting the shopping done before I had to collect pip from school (threw up), for the lovely Dr receptionist calling back with an appointment for Pip, for scoring a liddle f+v box (grapes, plum tomatoes, 5 big baking potatoes, satsumas, carrots, aubergine (bleurgh), bns and 3 strawberries 🤣), for the frost and then the sunshine, for neighbourhood cats.f0xh0les - hope all is well with your littlest one.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!8

He has done nothing wrong and is a Prince amongst men.
Took back a faulty airfryer for a refund, scored a magic f&V box from Liddle, I got 12 strawbs @apple_muncher and I have filled a massive fruit bowl with the other stuff, and half the fridge veg box with the rest. £1.50 well spent4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I have started to feel better today. Headache has mostly gone and now I am just left with a cough and sore throat. I was feeling quite bright and cheerful earlier and then this evening as tiredness is setting back in, I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself. I feel like everyday life is dreary- work, clubs, dinner, housework, bed and repeat. Logically I know that saving money where I can is better for me financially and in the long term but it makes week days hard.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #829

Sorry I've been AWOL, had a lot on & been exhausted in the evenings. I had a nap after work today, which has helped me stay awake longer now. I've managed to rack up another 2 NSDs, but as DS1 gave me his birthday list late, I've been ordering his presents.
Hugs to all the poorlies & those needing s big if sparkle.
Had a couple of good days at eork & a really carp one, though felt better the following day after I'd offloaded to the head teacher. She's going to speak to the (useless) member of staff.
Met a friend after work yesterday, who was visiting from mainland Scotland. She treated me to a hot chocolate & cake, so will be my turn next time.
Finally received an email from the architect, after his meeting with the Planning Dept in January. Not sure what planet he's on, but he suggested we might consider not doing the extension & instead looking for another property! He was using excuses not to continue with our plans, which we are perfectly happy about, as he's been 'working' with us for over a year now & didn't listen to anything we said we wanted!! So back to the drawing board... Feeling hacked off, but also spurred on to do things without him!
Grateful for time spent with friends, not succumbing to any bugs (staff are dropping like flies!), feeling proud of my boys & the HT going to act after my offloadUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Got up bright and early today, to make the most of the Spring day. Was just commenting with OH just now that it's the first time I experience a proper Spring day on the equinox here in the UK! I went out with the dog earlier this morning, and for the first time this year I wasn't wearing a hat and a scarf, and I was wearing a Spring dress with light cardigan and had to unzip my coat because I was too hot, even if I wasn't even walking in the sun!
Took advantage of it to take out most of the thicker Winter woollies, having a first load now, as they will dry beautifully today. I do not expect to needing to wear those super thick ones anymore, I have lighter woollies, and I will still be wearing a Winter coat for a while, so it will be fine. I just kept 2 thicker cardigans just in case it gets January again.
I will also need to bring up from the shed the spot carpet cleaner, as with the sun I can see parts of the carpet which are looking really bad, especially around the chair I sold earlier this year. On top of that, I have dropped a bowl of sweet and sour sauce yesterday, and now there is a very dodgy looking reddish stain on the beige carpet. I suspect that's the universe telling me it's time for the Spring carpet clean.
I had a lovely message from my cousin the other day (he's the youngest, the proper baby of the family) and he's going to be in London with his girlfriend this weekend, so we are meeting for lunch on Sunday. I have booked a lovely Ramen place, and we will meet in between his super full plan. Looking forward to that, but it's going to be another unexpected spendy day. Saturday I'm also in London, for the Stitch festival, meeting with a friend and her daughter, but I had budgeted for it, so I am not going to count that as a spend day, if I stick to budget.
Back to work now, and I will see if I can manage to do a lunchtime walk in the sun today, which helps the bones and the mood. Today is NSD #8, and I am grateful for sunshine on the first Spring day, cute Spring dresses being worn, my cousin reaching out.Debt free journey started 30/08/2023:
