That's intriguing only British Gas who installed them have been able to read my parent's meters.grimsalve said:sheffieldeagle said:Hi
Can anyone with dumb meters (Smet1) give their experience with Fuse. My parents are with EDF at the moment and have to give manual reads.
CheersMy gas and electricity meters are SMETS1 (installed by First Utility back in 2018). Fuse are able to read them.
Cheers for that.0 -
My gas only switch has gone through the smets2 meter is already online with fuse and rates of 5.3p per unit and 14p standing charge showing in the IHD, app needs tidying up but my gas usage is stable for each day so I don't require indepth details, staying with octopus for the electricity as it seems fuse only allow five hours max cheap rate each night for ev charging whereas octopus intelligent go it's all night and for all appliances0

@steven_cardwell I too have these missing readings but they sort themselves out and all arrive safely in the end. I too was spoiled by octopus and their mini but the saving I'm making (over £200 a year) makes a switch more than worthwhile. I'm quite impressed with the speed of the switch and recognition of my smart meters. Utility companies dont pull gas meter readings every 30 minutes usually though they are recorded on the meter it's an exception with octopus mini . You could always use the Bright app to see live electricity readings and 30 minute gas readings If you need to. If I'm disappointed with anything it's octopus - not offering a decent fix now my previous fix is ending . All major suppliers are cheaper than octopus for me. Also octopus have given me a final Leccy bill but not a gas one.3

I’ve actually been quite impressed with how quick the 30 min slots and graphs update showing almost current costs and usage. Octopus took ages to update but I didn’t have the mini.1

Same here, had an electric bill immediately for up to the switch point (tho it makes no reference to being a final bill etc) but nothing for the gas yet. According to their faq's it can take 4 to 6 weeks to raise a final bill then a further 10 working days for refund of credit.Tafrock said:Also octopus have given me a final Leccy bill but not a gas one.

Havent been impressed with the app and the constant missing energy data that eventually turns up , think I've been too used to having an octopus mini , with pretty well up to date usage , but this chat on the fuse app to the reply on the email, I don't think they have a clue let alone supposed to be 24/7 support in London .
I've been with Fuse, for electric only, since the beginning of this year. The app doesn't show half hour readings - the app shows hourly, daily and monthly. I have never had so much as a minute of missing readings or delays in them showing my usage (the Bright app does that unless I poke it lots of times). It's basic but accurate and responsive. And yes, I had an 🐙 Mini too previously.
When they 'redesigned' the app earlier to show cost but without showing KWHs I kicked off because I have a heat pump and I like to know what's what with my consumption. They responded really quickly with updates that restored the KwH graphs.
Most people here have been pretty impressed with their customer service - quick responses and they do what they say they will. So you seem to be a bit of an outlier with the problems... Is there a problem with your smart meter?

EDF have done the same for my switch to Fuse - electric statement for 3 days raised reducing my total credit (had the routine statement for both just before switch) but no gas and no mention of "final". Also no mention of not taking next due DD early in September.Russ66 said:

This is incorrect. Click where it gives details of your electricity meter, and then click Half Hour readings. It will open up a page with a big grid at the top (hopefully full of green notches where the meter has been read in August), scroll down.stripling said:@steven_cardwell

My gas only switch went through today as expected. Smart meter has connected and first remote reading is showing in the app.
So far so good.

I switched my gas and electricity to Fuse last week on their "Aug Single Rate Fixed (13m) v4" tariff but I just noticed the "Aug Single Rate Fixed (13m) v6" is slightly cheaper for gas (but not for electricity) so I'm just waiting on Fuse CS to respond to my query about whether I can switch tariff without any penalty.
I think the v3 was slightly cheaper but that's no longer available.0
