Zebedee_1485 said:Experienced sharp practice and awful service with Fuse, asking for up front payments, then stating that the tariff offered wasn’t available anymore, then making up the switch and there’s no one to call only text chat & email which take ages to get a response to, plus a very basic app & website. Regret the decision, they look cheap and act cheap, doubtless they’ll go bust soon like all the other to good to be true suppliers.
Not sure about "upfront" payments ? I pay on the 8th month for the previous month's usage - so in arrears.
Finally I've had responses to my queries via chat within hours - contrast that with EDF who took literally 2 days to get back to me - and then clearly didn't understand my query or Octopus, whose customer service, in my experience anyway ,has gone to the dogs!1 -
Though Fuse have increased their Gas prices they’re still good. Current 13 month fix is 5.42p per kWh with standing charge per day 28.52p. For comparison their August 13 month was 5.30p per kWh with Standing Charge of 14.36p per day.0

@ Brewerdave Likewise no upfront payments just a very prompt collection by DD of my MVDD on the 5th of September for August. Very satisfied with Fuse and their App though it took some getting used to as does their Chat and responses once you get past AI.1

Another satisfied Fuse customer here. Just renewed with them (OFTM were very marginally cheaper but I prefer the monthly variable DD). Never had to make any up-front payments or use the chat system; the monthly bill comes through within a couple of days without fail followed by the DD payment a few days later1

That octopus upfront payment was in the terms and conditions but never asked for and I changed to variable direct debit once signed up so might be there if you are red-flagged by the credit agencies.2

I’ve been satisfied, I’ve even ‘won’ a significant credit for my account. However… they’ve advised a few days ago that the EV tariff is going from the lowest I’ve ever seen at 5p kwh, to 17p kwh! Rocketing the price to charge now0

I'm another satisfied customer as well. Tomorrow will be my third meter reading with them. I like supplying the Meter readings by photograph and I like the variable DD payment method. I've contacted them once and had a reply within the hour. So, gotta say, so far, so good and of course I like their prices even more. Im on one of their fixed rate tariffs.1

First Fuse bill today, their maths is different to what I learnt at schoolTotal bill - £74.34 inc £3.71 VAT. £74.34 / 1.05 = £70.80 so £3.54 VAT which is what my calculation gave.edit. just worked it out, £3.71 is 5% of the total bill so they are making the old schoolboy error.Gas meter opening read 99.503, closing read 144.003 = 44.388 cu m, when I went to school that sum came to 44.5.The maths used on the PDF bill also don't add up but the amount charged is correct, they have short cut the conversion by dividing 1.02264 / 3.6 and giving a slightly out number. The actual bill is correct for their stated consumption and the correct gas conversion was used - although I do have some concerns in the number of decimal places used in the CV as they show 3 but this time my calculation from the NG data, and the figure used on the bill, worked that out at exactly 39.5Electric was pretty straightforward and correct. All pretty amateurish TBH.

Looks like Fuse are having some problems this morning. Can't log in into my account saying doesn't recognise the email address and using the phone, although I get the code, won't let me input the numbers. Asking to join the chat, just goes straight to the opening page. I'll try later.0
