@Working_Mum hope you enjoy your meal tonight and well done to you and the trustees for all your hard work for the charity. Cosy Saturday plans sound good. Glad you've enjoyed the thread, I've really enjoyed it too.3

redofromstart said:Ooh is that a Little Wenlock stove KK? There's one in this holiday cottage and I really like it. Chloe clearly approves too.I will mostly be driving today but once I am home the fire will be lit and I hope to be surrounded by purring cats, rather than being sulked at for daring to be away. No idea what we will be eating though, although I am taking lots of cheese home.
Hoping you are safely home and tucked up by now.

I would be interested in becoming a trustee of a charity now I'm retired. I have no idea how to do something like that. I used to be admin for a charity and attended board meetings.
I'm very cosy right now and thinking of having a hot chocolate before bed.2 -

I didn't have a cosy Friday - I looked through my Little Book of Hygge during the week and realised what a waste of time it was for me, mainly because I haven't been heating the house and tend to stay put at my desk / read / exercise. We're through the darkest stretch of the winter, and I am just grateful that the grim month that is January is over!It won't be warm next week but we will see the sun. February is always a happy turning point for me.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.2 -

I am Chair to 2 charities locally and both of them work in areas which are close to my heart. I started out as a Trustee over 15 years ago and have gone from there. It can be hard work at times but I have found the roles to be super rewarding (not monetarily obvs!).
My local area has a charity which runs training for Trustees and offers a matching service i.e putting prospective Trustees in touch with charities which need new Trustees - there may be something similar in your area??
Good luck, I feel sure you wouldn't look back if you took the plunge!

When I saw this come up I thought it can't be Friday already. 😅
I did Google the other day but didn't see anything like that near where I live. I did send off for an application form from a local charity this morning so I will see where that goes.2025 GOALS

I had a smashing night on Friday - it was really lovely to get everyone together. It was the first time it had been done so I was pleased with the level of conversation and energy in the room. Everyone got on so well.
I took my dog with me and he came in from the garden absolutely soaking wet!! He had fallen into the koi pond apparently and scrabbled to get out. It's safe to say he didn't leave my side for the rest of the night
I had a cosy Saturday evening and very MSE too as I had leftovers which included beef bourguignon and mash with cherry crumble and custard for pudding - you don't get much cosier than that do you!
It's been lovely catching up with everyone's weekends - there were definitely some lovely cosy evenings had.
