I'm just sitting down to watch the new Dexter in my armchair with a blanket on my lap. I have two bowls of snacks and a bottle of white wine. We were going to go out tonight for Valentine's day, but we went out for brunch instead to have a cosy evening.4

I was only thinking last night how I miss this thread, as February seems to be longer and darker than January! 🙄😂

Lovely to see some cosy folks popping by.
I wore some snuggly new pink socks today and then built the rest of my outfit to suit the new socks 😂.
in a dual cosy/Valentine's theme we have set up some dangly heart lights from our lounge window. Having fiddled about setting them up MrBC says they need to be used for all of February but I'm happy with that.
home made chocolate melt in the middle puddings tonight made in our heart shaped ramekins.
@Wednesday2000 - your night at home appeals to me far more than going out for dinner on such a commercialised evening.
@KajiKita - let's rally the cosy folk again next Friday.4 -
@Wednesday2000 ample snacks, wine, and good entertainment, in the warm, what a valentines evening win 🥂
I was saying just today @KajiKita that this February seems colder than January and like it's lasting longer, and that is quite the feat considering that January lasted for a good four months. It's been winter for yearsssssss now 😭
Loving the snuggly pink socks based outfit and the for now permanent heart lights fixture @Blackcats, not to mention the heart ramekins chocolate melt in the middles *drools most unbecomingly*https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

We had a cosy evening on sofa, under blankets but still with gas fire on ( one of those living flame ones), that shows how cold it is here. I had 2 of the dark chocolate truffles DH had bought me & he made me ginger tea, while we watched TV for an hour. Now in bed reading wearing cosy bed socks.
Can you share the recipe for the chocolate pud @Blackcats? It sounds tasty

We watched a Gardener’s World summary programme - lots of flowers and sunshine in front of a warm wood burner …. Happy sigh … 😊

can't wait for flowers and sunshine. Daffs doing their best but sunshine not making much effort at the moment.
@Makingabobor2 - here's the recipe. It's worked out really well whenever I've made it but there is a problem .... you are left with the remaining lindor chocolate balls - you'll have to be stoical about that!
I think it's a fairly easy but very effective pud. Quite cheap to make apart from the lindor balls which make the molten middle
molten chocolate puddings - serves 2
ingredients
40g unsalted butter (+ extra for greasing)
1/2 tsp cocoa
50g of 70% dark chocolate
2 tbs caster sugar
1 egg
2 tbs plain flour
2 Lindt lindor chocolate balls - plain or milk
method
preheat oven 180/160 fan/gas 4
liberally grease 2 ramekins and then dust with cocoa powder. Shake out the excess
melt the butter and dark chocolate in the microwave or in a bowl over a pan of boiling water
leave to cool for 5 mins
Whisk the sugar and egg with electric whisk for about 3 minutes until thick and pale
fold in the melted chocolate/butter
fold in the flour and a pinch of salt until just combined
Fill ramekin until 2/3rds full. Put in the lindor ball and then cover with remaining mixture
bake for 10/12 minutes then take out of oven and rest for 2 mins
eat from ramekin or turn out onto plate
delicious with ice cream or cream
Enjoy!!

I know it's only Wednesday but I'm thinking up some ideas for another cosy Friday.
it's very cold today but at least it's sunny. I think it might be warmer tomorrow but raining so it just seems a good idea to keep going with Fredagsmys.
I think our Friday meal might involve soup and homemade herby bread. I made a potato and leek soup last week and it was just such a hearty, warming soup.
not sure yet what cosy clothes to wear. I might chose a shimmery, sequiny grey jumper to combine warmth and bling. Begs the question about what socks to wear to match ....will needto have a hunt through the sock drawer.
hopefully there will be a few of us sharing our cosy ideas this week.3 -
I keep meaning to attempt potato and leek soup, any tips for a beginner?
Weather for here is apparently raining for the next five days so definitely need to embrace the cosy hunkering down. I feel fluffy socks will be involvedhttps://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase
