BT Abolish Caller Display Charge

If you are signed up with bt.com, go there and log in, or, if not, register and go to your account. There you can cancell Caller Display then register for Privacy at home. I did that with no break in the service that we noticed.
I should add that if your caller display is part of a package (e.g. ringback and 3 way calling etc) you will need to get rid of those too.
The next post is easier. But there are now 2 options.0 -

Do you reckon BT are going to automatically stop charging you for this?
Or do you still need to order using this phone no? (and then do u have to cancel you're paid-for caller display service).
I've already got caller display. When I phoned the number to register for the free one it said "We see that you already have caller display which is chargeable. This will be automatically cancelled and replaced with the free one" ( or words to that affect )
So you haven't got to do anything regarding cancelling your current one ... it's all done for you0 -
I already had caller ID. I phoned BT and signed up to Telephone Preference Service which came with free caller ID service, saving £1.75 per month!
Excellent!0 -
I wonder what the catch is !!!!!
Well if you sign up for TPS on the TPS web site, BT would be stoped from calling you, but by giving you somthing for free, when they ask if they can contact you by phone you say.......................GO on then and agree...
So BT stop charging you somting that costs them nowt and they can call on you to sell you somthing else0 -
You can also sign up for caller display on line at:
http://bt.com/btprivacy/
It's also possible to review the other select services you have and to modify them.

Thanks, but it doesn't really. The bt website is a nightmare to navigate. If anybody can post a url I'd be grateful - I'd like to know what the bit is about "using bt for some calls" to get it.
Thanks,

please ignore me, I just found the link down the page. They don't actually specify how many calls you need to make - just "some". One a month? A year?
Worth trying to see what happens...0 -

Reading BT's FAQs here or even their t&c here as mentioned above do not make it clear what they mean by "some calls".0 -
Thanks I just telephoned for this free offer - hope I get it - my line is BT but I make the calls via One Tel - Will this offer still apply - anybody ??0

Has anybody asked BT to clarify what they mean by "some calls?"0
