The odds are there are lots of undercover eBay people on here who can't have a bad word said about mighty eBay !

This time they have gone way overboard with their changes of dictating postage and holding seller's money to ransom !

This is the last straw for me - If that's how it's going to be on eBay from now on ?, then stuff eBay !

That's simple. They will grow when more and more runaway ex eBay sellers start joining Ebid and supporting them, they might even be many investors out there who loathe eBay and who will invest lots of money into Ebid to build it up out of spite !!, as with some minor tweaking it can be a good site with potential and has many of the characteristics of the old original eBay (including PayPal !) which is very appealing for many people wanting quick payment for their sold items.

They've got £60 in the bank, they need a bit more than minor tweaking. You may as well do a garage sale outside your house. Ebid have had loads of opportunities to grow when a few more than 150 disgruntled Ebay sellers left, it never worked, it never will. No one but you and a few dozen others are that bothered about this change. The petition had less than 200 signatures last time I looked.

I think they have much more than £60 in the bank.... The only opportunities they missed was when eBay tried to buy them out so they could close them down and were refused eBay's kind offer !.... Sadly these wealthy Americans think that they can buy just about anything with their money !  Their attitude stinks.

I say good on the English owners of Ebid for standing their ground and refusing to sell Ebid to eBay only for eBay to destroy it.

I think we get the idea. Not sure why for the past few days now you continue to go on and on and on about eBay and how you are going to take your business elsewhere etc. maybe just get on with it and move on? A number of private sellers are unhappy. Many more are probably not even that bothered about the changes. Waiting a couple of days for payment to clear isn’t the end of the world to most. Business sellers are still paying more than their lions share of the fees. Just move on and be done with it?

I have already moved on. I have deleted all my listings and closed my shop on eBay.

BTW It's not just the inconvenience of now having to wait many days to get paid on eBay... but eBay forcefully smothering private sellers with their "managed delivery" - eBay's Packlink = EVRi - That's the new name for HERMES !

They have called themselves "Hermes" since they first started in Germany in 1972 but in 2022 they then changed their name to "EVRi" after they received massive bad publicity for losing 100's of parcels when one of their HGV lorry drivers decided to dump a whole truck load of parcels at the side of a quiet road and steal what they wanted !

So I would rather throw my parcel under a bus ! then let EVRi deliver it ! - They are shocking and eBay is pro- EVRi because they are DIRT CHEAP !

So as I said before in an earlier post, the main reason why I have now stopped selling on eBay is because I do not like or trust their managed delivery program and resent it being forced on me, just like they forced everyone to have to accept managed payments if they wanted to continue selling on eBay which was just a smart trick to take full control of sellers sales money and INVEST IT ! for a short time before returning it to it's rightful owner.

    I think I’m noticing a theme here.

have you missed this bit ?

Can I opt out of Simple Delivery?

Yes, you can opt out of Simple Delivery when you’re creating the listing.

But never let facts get in the way of a good rant.

I’m starting to think this user is a sock puppet of the OP.  The OP stopped posting the same day this new user started posting.  And it’s the same long winded, repetitive posting style with regular uses of capitals for some phrases.

As a buyer with a score of over 1500, I've stepped away from eBay:
    1. they want to charge buyers for protection, but
    2. they endorse selling of counterfeits and use "AI" to make decisions.
I don't see how the new charge and their actual operations can align and can only see issues ahead.
