2025 - No Craft Spending - We WILL bust my stash and make pretty things!!!!!

Strangely, I was reading about Swedish Death Cleaning (decluttering) the other day and think I'm almost there. The thought of others going through the things I've left behind in piles/masses, isn't a pleasant thought and so very stressful for those left behind who've got to clear it all up
I'd rather declutter myself and save them the hassle. It's bad enough dealing with the grief of loss without adding additional stress on to it

Engagement “card”My daughter got engaged this week so I made this 3D ‘card’ for them, and had to make the box too!😊project 21/52 ✅ (all from stash)8

BridgetTheCat said:Hi, I’ve only just found this thread - is it too late to join up for 2025?I’m looking to destash as part of a more general declutter before I retire in 3 - 5 years time. Swedish Death Cleaning - sort of?
The main strategies are:
1. Finish WIPs - crochet, knitting and sewing
2. Donate, give away or sell my jewellery making supplies since my hands and eyes aren’t up to that any more
3. Recycle most of the clothing I’ve been keeping for unspecified future upcycling projects
4. Offer excess yarn and fabric to my crafty friends - some have already called dibs on certain items!
5. Don’t buy any new wool or fabric until October at the earliest (the beginning of Christmas making season)8 -

@ BridgetTheCat - Well done with the decluttering of some of your stash

I’m having a lazy day working on a WIP today. I originally used this lovely chunky yarn to crochet a jacket, but it turned out too heavy to wear comfortably. I’ve unravelled it and now I’m knitting a jumper for next winter.

@BridgetTheCat that is a lovely yarn. Well done. I remember my Mum unpicking jumpers and then winding it around my arms into skeins to wash and hang out on the line to dry. When it came in all the wrinkles were gone and I sat with my arms out wide again whilst she rolled it all into balls ready to knit it up again. Happy days sat in front of a roaring fire.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £17.98 spent, 102 made and 5 mended,

Great card for using scraps @emsi_b
Beautiful pin cushion @Soontobeoap
Super special card @CraftyRach
That is very pretty yarn @BridgetTheCat I Look forward to seeing it finished.
I have a huge box of rosettes I want to repurpose/ bin. I have made a couple of Christmas decorations as a trial - I cut the tails off and pinned the ribbon to polystyrene shapes. I am also going to mount some in a frame, with some of the printed tails sewn together as a backing.

Can't quite understand how you have made them. They are so pretty.
Neighbour asked me for a 25 th wedding anniversary card for her son and daughter in law. Madeher 2 so that she can choose. It will be interesting to see which one she goes for. Have to confess as these were for a very special occasion I did buy somepre card blanks from the works. £4.00 spent.
Edit:- she chose the first one.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £17.98 spent, 102 made and 5 mended,
