Good news about the avocado and the naan bread for me.  The peanut butter no thanks, can't stand the stuff and not bothered about oil as spray works well.  Having said that olive oil used to be HEB when I first started so it's come full circle.  Thanks for the info @bubbs.  Roll on January!

Quite agree - I may well use avocado at some point but certainly not planned for this month but if they're on offer or I find them YS then will make use of it.  Will definitely look out for the naan breads but suspect they won't be available until the new year seeing as that's when it's all supposed to be starting!

Shouldn't that be Jaan for Naan! 🤣

I agree, things won't suddenly change at midnight like Cinderella! If I fancy avocado now I'll have it. 😁

Morning all, it's lovely and sunny this morning but much colder.

We made good use of our 3 hours of free electric yesterday, the smart meter went up from just over £1 to nearly £4 in that time.

DH has a scan at the hospital at lunchtime so really mucks up the day.  Hate anything happening at lunchtime unless it's eating out!

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up with bacon - P; S; F
L - have pencilled in toasted cheese sandwich with pickles but not sure whether we might just not have anything!
    D - lamb tagine, herby couscous with pomegranate seeds - P; S; F; 6

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese?
    HEB - bread?
Syns - dried apricots, sultanas, sliced almonds 6 (not a lot of any one of them!)

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all,

I get you with lunch 😁 @joedenise and hope DH’s scan goes well.

Lunch yesterday was delicious and a few syns for some butter or oil in the sauce. I had two gin and slim lines so all in all a very good day for me!

It’s rainy, grey day here and about to take my aunt for her shopping. She wants to start on her Christmas list as was quite shocked when I told her I’m done 😇

Back to SW, I’ve had fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, if we eat out I’ll probably go for soup or baked potato and it’s steak, chips and loads of roasted veg for dinner.

    Have a good day everyone.

Glad you had a lovely lunch out yesterday @Jellybaby and well within syns too, brilliant!

You've done well to be finished with your Christmas shopping.  Does that include the food?  We don't do presents in our family any more as it just seemed daft buying stuff for the sake of it and swapping them.  Before stopping presents completely a few years ago we tried the £20 then £10 then £5 limit challenges - they were quite fun but again decided it was a bit pointless unless we were all going to be together.

We've decided to go away for Christmas this year but will be back in time for New Year.  Looking forward to that - see how others do Christmas!

That's amazing to have done your Christmas shopping already @Jellybaby. 😇 Hope you managed a SW friendly lunch today with your aunt.

I know what you mean about lunchtimes being messed around @joedenise. When the football gets moved to a 12 or 12.30pm kick off, it's so difficult to fit in. The best solution is when it's an away match and we can go to the pub and have a meal at half time.🤣 Hope Joe got on OK at the hospital.

We don't really do Christmas presents either other than money to immediate family. DH and I don't even give each other cards. DGD1 is with us on Christmas Day so I get her something to open that we know she wants and we exchange small token presents with a few friends at a pre Christmas lunch but that's about it. Usually I make them something ,one year I did appliqued bags for Scrabble letters, another year covered coat hangers but I'm a bit stuck what to do for this year.

I did take a salad with me last night and just had some melon and mango from the buffet so just 1 syn for mayo all evening.😇 I batch cooked brown rice and tomato sauce for meatballs yesterday afternoon so all in all a good SW day.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), mushrooms (S), baked beans (F)
    L- JP (F), prawns (P), salad (S)
D- beef in 'red wine' (P,S), new potatoes, carrots (F), Speed veg (S)
Syns- LTL mayo 1, cornflour 1, weekend wine😁
