Coxy. Well done to your DS.
The Nook sounds good. The orangey always reminds me of big old fashioned conservatory type room

  • Hi everyone, congratulations on the weight losses, new shoes, icon nomination, job for son! I also got a load of washing done and dry. Rain tomorrow.

I missed a Tuesday weigh in but went the following Saturday and had put on 4 pounds! I knew i would be over target and had had a big curry and quiz night on the Friday. I tried to book a holiday for the following Tuesday but as not my "home" group i couldn't. Why is that? Contacted my normal consultant who did it for me.

So WI today and lost 1.5 so going in right direction. Topic today was trigger foods and we were recommended to listen to the SW podcast. Also featuring man of the year I think.

Its funny cos I used to get really fed up with the old meetings, going round the whole group and wish they more like the WW ones. Now they are i don't like the new format!

Question for any still going to group, how much is your raffle and do you pay for tea/coffee?

    Well done Wilma.

You can only book holiday at your own group as no way of doing it when you are visiting a group.

Raffle is 50p strip, this pays for tea, coffee etc and the raffle prize

Well done to your DS @Coxy11.  Not easy getting jobs now - glad I don't work anymore!  Hopefully they'll increase his hours once he's been there a while especially with Christmas coming up.

Don't go to group any more but raffle was always 50p a strip.  First group tea/coffee/chocolate were free and someone made it for you; at 2nd group it was free but had to take your own cup/mug but tea/coffee provided.  I didn't like the coffee they provided so used to take a flask of coffee from home.

How about garden room for your extension @maman, assuming it overlooks your garden!

    Morning all,

Same here - when attending group it was 50p a strip which went towards refreshments and the raffle prize.

I’ve been feeling very ‘snacky’ lately. All within syns but not good. I ended up on 15 syns yesterday for the first time in years.

I have an appt this morning then on to meet contact of DSis’s to discuss the PT admin role. Have booked another tip run with another 20 sacks of garden waste for this afternoon but will see how hideous the weather is later. We are due rain.

    Food today:
B - satsuma, toasted protein bagel thin, marmite - S, HEB, free
    L - JP, cheese, mixed salad, pickles - 1, HEA, S
D - SW beef chilli stir fry with noodles - free
    HEA - milk
Syns - rice cakes with scraping of soft light cheese - 3

Morning all, it's very grey and drizzly here; more rain forecast throughout the day.  Tomorrow is supposed to be a dry day, I hope it is as want to get some washing done and out on the line as it's the only forecast dry day for about 10 days or more!

I've spent a bit of time last night and this morning on sorting out a menu plan for November and it will use up quite a bit of the things already in the freezer and cupboards but think I'll probably need to buy some more chicken thighs and some stewing beef but not much else apart from the usual fruit, yoghurt and milk.  Think there's probably enough cheese but if not will buy some more.  That's a good thing about SW cheese portions aren't very big so cheese lasts much longer than it did prior to doing SW!

Not sure if I said I'm making a sundress for December's holiday well the top is shirred and sewn (looks like a boob tube, LOL!).  Just need to do the skirt now.  I'm making it knee length or thereabouts as not enough fabric for another long one but at least with a shorter one I'll be able to wear it during the day as well as evening.

    Today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs, spinach, toast - HEB; P; S
    L - jacket potato, beans, tomatoes, cheese - HEA2; S; F
    D - toad in the hole, roast potatoes, veg - S; F; 6.5

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - flour 4.5; sausages 2; may have a lolly as well later 6

    Have a good day everyone.

Well done on your loss @Wilmaknickersfit. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

50p a strip seems a general thing with SW raffles and tea/coffee has always been free in any group I've been to.

Thanks for the ideas for our extension. We'll try Garden Room @joedenise as, you're right, it does look over the garden. I liked Nook but it's far too big, light and airy for that or Snug. It's certainly not a sun room today as it's grey and damp outside. Sunday looks to be the only day that no rain is forecast so hoping to change the bed and turn around all the washing then.

Hope you feel positive about the p/t job @Coxy11 if it's what you want. Well done on choosing SW snacks. Yesterday I kept craving a biscuit or chocolate which is unlike me. I bought some stem ginger cookies as DD2 was supposed to be coming at coffee time yesterday but she arrived so late that we just had lunch and coffee afterwards. That saved me as I wouldn't open the packet just for me. When I got back from dancing I had some  ham and tomatoes and went to get a chocolate bar (7 syns of 70% cocoa from Aldi) but grabbed a banana instead. 😇

I decided not to go to WI this morning. The GP scales suggest I'm either right at the top or just over target range (scales don't exactly match) and I know I can't go next week anyway. I think I'll just do 'good when I can'  and if I have to go back to group for a while and pay then I will. I quite like the Wednesday morning group and I'm usually available to go then so we'll see.

What's in the stew to make it 7 syns @bubbs? Is it all cornflour?🤔 When my mother made stew it was always the Welsh cawl which isn't thickened. I like it like that but always preferred it when she added dumplings or we had pea soup which was like lentil soup but as a main meal with potatoes in.

I'm counting the gravy as free tonight. It's LO Hairy Biker's from the freezer and only had 1 syn between us for the original meal.😁

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, eggs, bacon (P, mushrooms and tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- cold meat, LO veg and pickles (P,S,F)
D- sausage, mash, peas, gravy (F), onions, cauli, broccoli (S)
    Syns- BGTY sausages 2

Change of plan for lunch. I had LO mushroom risotto as DD didn’t fancy hers last night after the gym. It’s free so just the HEA for the Parmesan.

I had the meet up re: the PT job. Nice ladies who are going to let me know when to start. I came home, got changed and loaded up the car in the drizzle. That’s another 25 sacks of garden waste gone. Both garden waste bins are full and will be emptied tomorrow. More leaves still to come down tho…..!
