Evening all 😁
Been drizzling rain all day here 🙄 just opened the door and it's bloody freezing!!
No Maman, always put oxtail soup on with a stew as it thickens it and gives lovely flavour, was 2 cans as was a big stock pot, rest is in the freezer now.
Nice to "see" you TIE 😁
Went company shop today, not alot there, did get 4 yoghurt for 30p, could have got more , but still got 6 from last week as bought 12 🤣 Got back bacon at 40p pack, so myself and dh both had our quota of 6, so loads in freezer.
Lunch i had 4 ryvita crackers, half hexb, ham and beetroot, tomato and watermelon

That bacon was a good buy @bubbs and I'm sure you and DH enjoyed a change from work. 👍
Thanks for the info about the oxtail. I don't like the flavour myself, too offaly (if that's a word 🤣).
Good to hear from you @TakeItEazy. It must be school holidays. 😁
The job sounds promising @Coxy11. 👍0 -
Morning all, it's a much brighter day today so another machine load of washing on and will be going out on the line shortly.
Wish I could get bacon for that price @bubbs! I'm another that doesn't like oxtail, DH loves it so I do make oxtail stew occasionally (very occasionally - like I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times I've made it, LOL!).
Glad that target is still in sight @TakeItEazy. Enjoy half term.
Good luck for the job @Coxy11. When will you find out if you have it?
Today's plan:
B - cheese omelette - HEA2; P
L - bacon and mushroom sandwich - HEB; P; S; 1.5
D - chicken shawarma, chips, salad - P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - LF spread 1.5; lolly? 6
Have a good day everyone.

Congrats to your DS on the job @Coxy11 and your P/T opportunity sounds ideal 🥳
Enjoy half-term @TakeItEazy. Bargain Bubbs strikes again 🤣
It’s damp but bright here so a load of washing is in the machine with another waiting to go. I’ve had a busy few days running errands, loosely putting a meal plan together for two weeks leading up to Christmas and the week after. DS1 will be home and we have a lot on so trying to get ahead and get some cupboard amd freezer shopping done. Oh, and the many times rescheduled Madrid trip is happening next weekend!Food wise, everything has been on plan but despite drinking loads more water and the exercise I currently do, I think I definitely have a menopause belly 🙈 now watching YouTube exercise videos 🤣
Fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, pea and ham soup from the freezer for lunch with a toasted soft pitta and it’s chicken curry with rice and tenderstem broccoli for dinner.0 -
Hi all,
Not sure when I'll hear about the role tbh. Both ladies are incredibly busy self-employed mortgage brokers. They miss out on extra business and drop the ball because they are so busy being bogged down in admin. All of which I could help them with. They are going to make a list of what I could do for them and how many hours initially. I reckon middle of next week at the earliest.
I've been out and about to Faversham. Needed some pop and snacks for a fundraiser tonight at DSis's house. I also shopped in a few independent shops and got some bits for Christmas.
Food today:
B - toasted protein bagel thin, scraping of light soft cheese, satsuma - HEB, 1/2 HEA, S
L - smoked peppered mackerel, mixed rainbow salad, apple – 4, SD – cheese and ham omelette, broccoli – HEA, free, P, S
Syns - 4

Good luck with the fundraiser tonight @Coxy11 and keep away from the pop and snacks! 🤣
I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip to Madrid @Jellybaby, it's a lovely city and it'll be a lot warmer and drier than we'll be in Glasgow next week.😁 I'm still looking forward to it though.
I sympathise with you about belly fat. I haven't got much but I swear that every ounce I am over target chooses to sit right there!😡
It's chilly here but mostly dry. I'm putting off my washing until the weekend and then try to clear it all in one go @joedenise.
We had a late lunch because we've been to Heathrow this morning to collect DD1 from her trip to New York. It wasn't a particularly early start but I feel really tired. You'd think it was me that arrived on the red eye!🤣
I did have a stem ginger cookie last night as DH had opened them. I really enjoyed it but 5.5 syns for 1 biscuit??🤔 I'm really enjoying the syn free English mustard from M&S. I know mustard is fairly low syn anyway but it's great being able to take a generous spoonful with ham or whatever.
Today's plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA1 milk, blueberries (S), banana (F)
L- ham, eggs (P), bubble &squeak and pickles (S)
D- spaghetti with meatballs in tomato sauce (P,F,S), HEA2 Parmesan
Syns- 00 -
Evening all,
Was a frosty here this morning! We went out just after 8 food shopping and had a job to open the car door!
I didn't have oxtail stew, never eaten ox tail meat in my life, i used oxtail soup, i had beef in it.
Maman he won't be resting for long we have tonnes of orders to do tomorrow! Took me from 9-4.30 too write them all out 🙈 dunno how i will have time tomorrow to make something , but i'll try!
Put my washing in the dryer, didn't have time to mess about with it! Tomorrow's will be going same place.
Yes bacon was a bargain 😁
Good luck Coxy 🤞🤞🤞

Well done on the company shop bargains 👍
Every time Faversham is mentioned…..I think of my gdd. It’s where she goes to school. I’ve only been once - to a hops festival a couple of years ago. We’re heading to my dds on Saturday- the seaside place not too far away from there. It’s famous for its oysters, but I’m not brave enough to try them…..the thought of them makes me shudder. I will have a mooch around her town as I do like the independent shops. Unfortunately we’ll leave here at 6 am and arrive there in time for lunch if the traffic is kind to us. It’s a long drive.
We ended up going out yesterday to see TheRiver of lights. We walked a few miles around the riverfront and lights. We filled up on jacket, tuna and salad before we went. Had a free cuppa at JLewis. I had every intention of eating once home but I was bursting for the loo. I knew the public loos near all the activities would be heaving so decided to call into a Mc Donald’s near to where we’d parked the car. I caved in and had a £5 meal. I gave most of the fries to Dh but did eat a cheeseburger and 4 chicken nuggets. I haven’t eaten in a Maccas for years until last month…so that’s my 2nd in a short time. Need to keep that habit at bay 😯
Not sure how easy it’ll be to stay on plan at dds. I know we’re all contributing to a curry night on Saturday so that’s ok as Dh has made a mild chicken and lentil one for me…..I’ll leave the spicy ones to the others. She cooks very healthily but does use more olive oil than I do. I’m making a cake to take with us and will have a tiny slice. My mil used to make a Kentish cake. I had the recipe written on a scruffy bit of paper but lost it. I recently found a recipe that is virtually the same so I’m making a Kentish cake to take to Kent 👍 I’ve looked for it in the bakers down there but never seen it.I’ve been to aqua again today.
Hope you get your orders done in time Bubbs 👍
I do like a stem ginger biscuit - some things are definitely worth the syns mamanJanuary spends - £587.580 -
Morning all,
Fundraiser netted another £322 for the charities - whoop! We have a Quiz Night at the end of November so our attention will be on that for the next few weeks. I have some raffle prizes to put together for it plus need to source and wrap lucky dips.
Foodwise - because I ate lunch at 2pm I didn't fancy any tea so just stuck to tea and some crisps at the fundraiser. I'm off to BFF's later and she's bought a lasagne. I will take a big salad with me. Think the 28 day sugar drought will be broken tonight as we will have a drink. I will stick to rum and pepsi max.
Oooh @milann - I know that seaside town - very lovely. Have a fab time xx
Well done on the orders @bubbs - bet you're looking forward to the break over Christmas!
That's a long old drive for you @maman no wonder you were exhausted!
I may not get on over the weekend so I hope everyone has a good one.

Afternoon all, it has been a very busy morning but not much actually done! I've got our plumber coming later this afternoon to service the boiler. Can't believe it's a year since it was last done - the time has just disappeared.
Glad the fundraiser went well @Coxy11 and it was a decent amount raised.
You sound extremely busy with the orders @bubbs, as @Coxy11 says you'll be looking forward to the break over Christmas.
I know that seaside town too @milann. Not been there for a while. My friend used to live near there until she moved back to the Island nearly 3 years ago.
DH had a dental appointment this morning, also needed to pop into the GPs to pick up and form for an X-ray for his hip but the X-ray department wasn't open at that time so had to go back after the dentist. In between we popped into Tesco to change my mobile phone contract to them. My phone now doesn't seem to be working properly so may well have to go back again but it can wait until after the weekend - I'm not going into town over the weekend!
We changed DH's mobile contract yesterday. Couldn't get the same deal for me as the offer finished yesterday! I've actually got twice as much data as him for just £1 a month more! We're going to cancel his contract when we go down next week (they weren't able to do it today as the account hadn't actually been sorted out properly) and change it to the same deal as I've got.
I weighed this morning I have have lost a bit more and am now down to just 0.5lb over the weight I was before going on holiday so most of the holiday weight has gone. With a bit of luck I'll be back to my pre holiday weight next week.
Today's Plan:
B - Weetabix, milk, fruit - HEB; HEA2; S; F
L - Roasted butternut squash soup; slice bread - S; F; 3
D - Sausages, mash, veg - S; F; 2
HEA1 and 2 - milk
HEB - Weetabix
Syns - slice bread 3; sausages 2; couple of G&Ts 6
Have a good day everyone.
PS. Just after I posted my plumber messaged to say he'd been held up on a job and couldn't make it this afternoon. He's now coming Tuesday afternoon!0
