Hello all,
Sorry I'm not up to speed with all of your comings and goings as yet but will do my best to catch up and read this thread more regularly - this is the busiest one I've ever been part of!
So the car is back - and I am out of pocket to the tune of around £650.00 or should I say Sainsburys are because I had to use my credit card - hoping this will be the last year of me having to rely on credit to pay for emergencies like this.
I finally tackled the 3 cupboards and they look slightly better.
I decluttered;- Nexgard x3 - out of date. Looking for alternatives because there are cases of this medication causing seizures in border collies so I'm too scared to keep giving them these!
- Dog puzzle x2 - broken. My 2 still play with the cups from this used to hide the treats and I paid £0.99 each for them so don't feel like this is too much of a loss
- Lick mat - has a tear in it so don't want them choking on it
- Hooves x 20ish - didn't count them but there's a bag full. Luna enjoys eating the filling that comes in them but then doesn't really bother - I'm going to give these to my friends for their dogs
- Dog brush x2 - my 2 are short coated and absolutely HATE being brushed so at the age of 2 and 3 I am finally giving up - I'm not giving these to anyone else as they've been chewed quite a lot - thanks Bailey!
- Tupperware - no lid and cracked so in the bin it goes
- Glass jar x3 - I used these to store dog treats but got a tin that I use now - I'll see if anyone wants them - if not I'll drop them into the charity shop
I live a rock n roll lifestyle over here.Debt Free - 4th June 202517 -
vulpix said:Hi,
She is beautiful Florenceem. You are very talented. I hope when you have finished your current de clutter you will get back in your craft room. I know you always need to be on the go and you make such lovely things.
BlueJ94, quite a lot of people on this thread are crafters and make beautiful things. Have you seen the Use my craft stash thread? I was a member for several years but my MIL took presedence and I didn't have time to do much crafting for a few years. I haven't joined again as I don't really have much of a stash anymore.
5 house plants and their pots being donated to DD1 today. They are showing the strain of living with me for the past few years. DD1 is a plantaholic. She has hundreds, no exageration. Her house looks like something from a house magazine shoot. We are off there shortly to prep her bedroom ready for decorating. It involves some possible(hopefully) pipe removal and fixing a floorboard, and sanding all the woodwork. This is the easiest room in her house to renovate. She has been living away for a few years and her house was rented out. It's time has come for a facelift. All the other rooms need trades to come in and do work. She is having trouble finding people to even come and look at a job. A friend of theirs was a solicitor and has retrained as a plumber. He has more work than he wants and can almost name his price, and is loving it.

Gosh this forum is galloping away at the moment
decluttered two single duvets to Dunelm at lunchtime
they were virtually brand new and I think one had only been used twice in my previous house
no single beds inthis house but Dunelm donate them to rough sleepers or recently housed homeless folk so better to go to help someone than just dumped in landfill.
made a bit more room in one of my cupboards where it had been in plastic bags since last July
i have a bag of stuff for the charity shop on Monday as well 👍👍👍🥰20 -
Mrs SD - afraid to say that I am still working through bags of stuff that were for Vinted - I brought so much home!
There were loads of donations in the foyer when I popped to SA - I would usually have stayed and sorted the lot - I didn't! I did grab 3 items that I thought could go on our table at the next table top sale - I didn't bring them home - stashed them in a crate at SA.
I did some more sorting in my craft room before I went to the hospital.
Mr F has huge white mittens taped onto his hands. They tried to phone me - I didn't hear it - for permission to use them as Mr F can't give a yes. Staff did a care directive and fitted the mittens as Mr F was trying to pull out his feeding tube. Mr F had to go for an xray to check that the tube was in his stomach before they could restart the feeding solution.
Mr F was put on a nebuliser to help clear his chest.
Mr F was more awake but incoherent. He wasn't cooperative when the nurses changed his gown and bedding.
It is very cold here.
I have a blister on my thumb- I spilled hot water when filling my water bottle last night.
I met a friend at the bus stop when leaving the hospital so we chatted on the bus - our Son's have been friends since they were 5 years old - 53 now.

All the talk of decluttering crafting stashes ‘persuaded’ me to have another look at my button stash 😉 I decided that I would never get around to using the various decorative buttons - lambs, trains, ladybirds, etc so made up several little bags of buttons (7 bags in all) which have been added to the CS bag. Not counting until delivered to CS 😉 Back to cheerleading:
basketcase, love that ‘Christmas’ is a moveable event in your house 😊 Sounds like you have had a wonderful time with your DD 🥳 This “My goodness, but the train had really moved on! I felt like I was in one of the old B&W silent films. I’d run up to the train, which would move off before I could get on and I’d be jumping up and down on the platform before dashing off again! 🤣” is about how I feel at the moment 😉 but I am determined to catch up 😉 Thank you for my medal 🥇 And This “I was glad when the train slowed down a bit and I leapt on, only to turn round and see my mojo waving from the platform! It looked far too pleased with itself, if you ask me. 😡” had me in fits of giggles 🙊 I will have a word with our driver & get her to swoop round & pick up your ‘mojo’ 🙂 Thanks for the Turkish Delight - the ginger one is 🤤 Excellent decluttering 👏 especially ‘batch cooking a few frogs’ 👏 Good luck with your NSDs 🍀
Excellent digital decluttering Mrs_Money_Penny 👏 & great work clearing a room 😊
Brilliant work filling the skip redofromstart 👏 & also delivering so much to the CS 🥳 Such hard work merits a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on its way 😊Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties especially the neutral items 👏Welcome back from your holiday LittleMissDetermined 👋 I hope you had a lovely time 😊 Yes, you can count work emails either in batches of 50 or 100 depending on time taken 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏 Re frogs, I see that vulpix has replied on page 78 🙂
A few more caught up, so will post as I should really make dinner 😉 See you later 👋

Florenceem that dolly is gorgeous id love to be able to make them.
I'm so glad the tips are useful to us all. I find its good to remind myself of the basics from time to time. Hope the little bitesize bits are the right size for you julie77. Lots of us struggle with health or stamina issues, hope this thread helps you.

@BlueJ94 I used to read the thread Vulpix mentioned as I loved cross stitching, was good at it too. Had a huge stash.. waaay out of hand 😬 Then life changed and so did I, when I discovered that a friend of mine also loved stitching, I gifted her my entire stash.. she was delighted.. a good deed done and and an empty space for me, it was a win win 😉
We have smashed it today.. so so pleased..- Drawer emptied, cleaned out.. lots of nonsense recycled..
- NEW NOTBOOK STARTED.. covered with stickers of choice from stash..
- Emptied garage.. of EVERYTHING 😳😱
- Put up new metal shelving..
- Hoovered floor and got all grotty bits/webs and detritus 😉
- Car stacked to the rafters with stuff for the tip (also took bits for neighbour to save them a trip)..
- Tip run complete ☑️
- Stuff re-instated into garage, will need a final jig about, that can be done in the week..
- 2 Items into loft (will be sold later in the year)
All personal paperwork from myself, OH & my Ma from the last 3 years disposed of correctly..🎉🎉🎉
Bacon, egg, beans and chips for tea.. 😋
Now a well deserved rest.. we are shattered.. 😮💨🥱😴

Oooo, I’m a newbie and have a real interest in both decluttering and decorating this year!I did well last year on the decluttering side, and DH did decorate a couple of rooms but we still have a lot to achieve this year (the house is tidy but open a drawer or cupboard and you may put your own life in your hands…..).I’m going to define that decluttering for me is anything in the house that isn’t general recycling or items for the bins as part of everyday life (which I tried to record last year and was unsuccessful as I lost track), so it will be items that we have purposefully decluttered. Do we need to set a target? I’m just going to aim for as much as possible but if I need to set a target, I will 😀Mortgage (MFD 04/2053) (Jan 25) £238,983.71. Overpayment set to £200 per month. I had some bank statements to put away in a folder today - found some in there - 2011 - so another job to do.
I am considering a day off from hospital visiting tomorrow. I have visited for the past 9 days and really Mr F doesn't seem aware of my visits.
I will go to Church in the morning.
There is an afternoon service at a local Corps - I am thinking about not going to that - just rest indoors - or do more decluttering!Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
