Florianatwotbob wow, amazing photos. I've had a look at tour dates and unfortunately (for me) they are all way down south. I think the helios tour will come closest to Scotland but not till Apr but thanks for your pics. I hope to see all 3 at some point.22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈 Never save something for a special occasion. Every day is a special occasion. @Cheapskate
From Page 1“THE ELECTRIC POWERED DECLUTTERING TRAIN” aka EDT in service because we have worked so hard to make it a home away from home with separate Buffet & Dining Carriages; a Sleep Carriage with Japanese sleep pods; a Baggage Car & an Open Wagon Carriage (with netting to stop people falling off). The TLC Carriage is now many carriages (most with a constant supply of tea, coffee, alcoholic & soft drinks & snacks with the emphasis on cake & biscuits) as follows: the original TLC Carriage has Massage Chairs, sofas, tables & chairs with 24/7 waiter/waitress service; Hairdressing Salon including Manicures, Pedicures & Reflexology; a Spa with Massage Beds with on call masseurs/masseuses + a jacuzzi; a library with attached computer room; a cinema; a well stocked crafting room; The Padded Carriage incl. punch bags (for when RL is just too fraught 😉) & finally ‘The Quiet Carriage’ - NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES ONLY BOOKS + Butler Service for Drinks & Nibbles (mostly cake).
Plus we upgraded the EDT to include a “Teleportation Device” & a new glass-domed 2 storey carriage (new restaurant on lower deck kitted out to look like the Orient Express) was coupled up between the last two carriages being the Baggage Car & the Open Carriage (with netting to stop people falling off). We only managed the one trip to Canada but there are trips planned for 2025.
P.S. I have been reminded that I forgot to mention the ‘Fluffies Carriage’ where all manner of pets are available for cuddles but especially kittens/cats/puppies/dogs & rabbits 😊

Hi all, better day yesterday as I actually got my arris into gear and did something 😂😂. 2 LDFPA, 2 sessions of ironing, did some and stopped when I had had enough but went back and did more later in the day while listening to the footy on the radio 😁, wrapped and bagged the birthday present and found and wrote a card from stash. Did a financial check over and made sure I have money where it needs to be and the bathroom bin was emptied. Sorted out a draw and found some bits to pass on but not counting yet as they have not left the house yet. After tea did some crochet. I lit the log burner again yesterday as I was feeling cold again so today that will have to be cleaned out and I want to do some more ironing, the pile is quite large 😂😂 and get some washing done 😁. I also want to phone my sister which can be stressful but it is overdue 😁. I am sure something else will present itself to be sorted 😂.
@Julie777 I would suggest after removing the obvious rubbish you concentrate on 1 room at a time. Start with 1 corner/cupboard/draw/surface. Empty it, clean it and only put back what should be there. Rehome things you know you want or need straight away, put the rest into a bag/box for the charity shop if good enough to sell or the bin/recycling if not. Put the cs bag in the car boot so you are not tempted to remove stuff but can add to it and drop it off when you are passing. Next session move onto the next cupboard/draw/surface and repeat until that room is done then move onto the next room. Also see post from @redofromstart 😁. Other members of the household can help by dealing with their stuff and at least keeping the areas you have done clear 😁.
@Vulpix finding trades is the bane of my life, I do want a reasonable job doing but atm I would probably give it to anyone who actually agreed to turn up and look at it, good luck with that 😏
@redofromstart thanks for reposting that list, well worth rereading 😁.
@Brie my council is the same with garden waste and they only collect fortnightly March to November though living further North we still have stuff growing all year.
@diminua YAY to getting to maintenance more 😁
@_Dolly_Rocker_ yes this thread moves at a terrific pace 😁 but don't stress of you miss some posts😁. Glad you have your car back but ouch to the bill 😳
@London_1 thanks for the heads up about Dunelm and old quilts, as you say better than going to landfill 😁.
@Spendywendywoo hello and welcome aboard, looking forward to following your journey😁. No need for targets if you don't want to set them. I have a target but it doesn't work for everyone, we are very flexible here 😁.
@Willowtree222 hello and nice to "meet" you😁
@angelicous hello and welcome aboard 😁 good luck with the pre move decluttering 😁
@florianatwobob lovely photos. I love things like that 😁. A few years ago we had an earth installation in one of the cathedrals, it was amazing 😁
@2Scratters thanks for the recommendation, I will give it a look
Right off for another cuppa
Hugs to everyone who would like one
92 & 93 ironing
94 & 95 LDFPA

Good morning,
Sunday is usually a stay at home day but we're out again to finish a job in our friend's garden. Between friend's gardening stuff and ferrying the student here, there and everywhere I haven't had much time for our house. I have kept to the minimum that I promised myself though so I have decluttered five things on each day Friday, Saturday and today.
I have also dealt with the frog that was putting bedding away in the ottoman - there are "things" on top of the ottoman waiting to be sorted so I kept putting off moving them. I did it this morning though and the junk pile is back in situ awaiting it's day of glory.
The general rubbish bin has been emptied but now it's the recyling bin this week when it should have been general then back onto the regular schedule the week after which means recycling again and a gap of three weeks for general so I will still have to be careful what I throw out. I'm seeing a tip run in my future.
Hugs to @mehefin. Sorting someone elses saved treasures is hard. Mine was only slighly mitigated by finding a £10 note in the pocket of a pair of the late MrC's trousers. Make sure that you check pockets just in case.
Take care all of you 😊19 -
A productive weekend, between the tip and charity shop another 132 items gone for good.
Work trip this week coming, so will be no progress until Friday. Full steam ahead for next weekend is the plan, though now I've taken out all the 'obvious' items bar one or two I expect to slow down somewhat
Hope all have a good week2025 in 2025- 2027/2025

Good morning fellow passengers and welcome to our most recent joiners.
I was thinking this morning that I might retire from the thread as I have very little to contribute now a days... but then I came on and caught up and realised I am invested in you all and I can just live vicariously through your de cluttering.
Mrs SD, you are a darling, yes we are always up for some wool, Thank you. I would love to come up to London for a meet up again, and this time with no time limit. We should have a meeting of the London chapter of de clutterers, TC for a start.
The knitting gang was minus the lady with no confidence because she had a visitor, but she says she will come next week. We had a good laugh this week and we all enjoyed it. The difference in one ladies knitting in just a few weeks is astounding. She has already made a lap blanket an Izzy doll and is now making a baby jumper.
The moon installation is very impressive.I will look into visiting, Thank you Floriana.
Julie 777, I agree with Liverpool Anne about doing one room at a time. The same advice I have given my daughter about her DIY, Chip away in one room until it is finished and then you have a lovely room to retreat to. The same tactic I used to empty my MIL's and my Mum's houses too.
So, the diy at DD1's house took that well trod path. Start a job and uncover a bodge and a whole can of worms. Mr V and DD1's OH went to the tip with old blinds and shelves etc and joined a massive queue. DD and I rolled back the carpet to see what the problem was with the sunken floorboards. It took me at least an hour to carve out the many old 6" nails with no head on them to be able to get pliers in to pull them out. 3 floorboards had to be taken up to reveal the person who put the central heating in had cut out a chunk of a beam to fit the pipes and the floorboards had nothing to rest on. Off trotted Mr V and OH to buy a big piece of wood. A lot of measuring, cutting, fitting into small gaps, screwing later the floorboards now don't dip. All it took was 3 hours and £3 something piece of wood. Mr V and OH are very scared, nervous DIY ers, it's me n DD1 who are much more confidant. I was very grateful for their strength though, I am not the powerhouse I once was. We didn't have the confidence to cut off a rats nest of pipes. They still have water in them and there is also electric wiring in the mix. We did however strip the window frames and window bottoms with a hot gun and then a sander. She is pretty much stuck now until she has found a plumber and an electrician. She also wants the ceiling light moved to a more central position. Oh yeah, the radiator has also fallen off the wall at one side but they can do that themselves today. Sadly their solicitor turned plumber friend is booked up for months ahead.
The best bit, with no time to cook we had an Indian take away. Not your usual British curry. Outstanding food and things that none of us had ever seen or tried before. I will certainly be volunteering again if just for the food.
I also found and gave DD another pair of gold earrings. I was hoping she wouldn't want them so I could cash them in.
A slow day for us, Mr V is writing a quiz and I am now onto the sleeves of the big jumper for the second time!
Vx

Went to Church - a chap was there to take photos for a Uni project.
Came home to find 2 bags of stuff in my porch - trying to find out who put it there.
Still cold out.
Got the washing machine on.

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger
I didn't seriously think you'd award me for thinking of decluttering!! If you did then we'd all be Nobel prize winners!!! (assuming they gave a Nobel for decluttering of course)
I did however finally bin the foot sanding thingme that has been not working properly for the last year. Why do I hang on to things that I know are well past their best and can't be passed on to someone else or repaired in any way? Why do I buy things that don't last and can't be repaired when they fail?? OK it's because I'm cheap. Much happier with my tootsies now that I have a chiropodist visiting regularly for both me and him indoors.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Actually, the cables are there because one day we'll need one of the ones we chucked because we know what it's for now! (Erm... Perhaps not the one the rabbit chewed, thinking it was a root...) See first paragraph! 🤪A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!
