Welcome julie777 👋 My one tip to get you started is to take a black bin bag & pick up obvious rubbish from each room in your house. I think you will be surprised what a difference it makes 😊 Good luck 🍀

113 - 115 Kitchen recycling, magazine, drinks cans - recycled
116 Kitchen detritus - binned
Excellent work dealing with both the frog & the gloss painting Soontobeoap 👏 Crikey, DH finished his chocolate cake in double quick time 😉 Mind you if you have made a 2nd chocolate cake then I am sure he won’t miss a teeny slice ☺️
Crazycatlady2, congratulations to your DD on passing her test 🥳 Perhaps she could take you to the CS 😉
Brie, sadly thinking about decluttering (& in my case dreaming about it 😉) isn’t quite enough to earn a Gold Star or even a medal 😕 Although I might give it some consideration for next year 😂 Not quite sure what the point of slashed jeans is 🤔 to me it just looks scruffy 😅
Florenceem, not quite sure how I got a verruca either as I haven’t been anywhere near a swimming pool in more years than I care to remember 😅 So sorry to hear that MrF still doesn’t seem to be getting any better 😔 After all the tests, I was hoping that the doctors would have reached a diagnosis by now. It must be so frustrating 😞 Sending gentle cwtches to both you & MrF 🤗
Tjh1412, good news that the fridge/freezer & cooker are part of the fixtures & fittings 🙂 Hopefully you can earn a bit of cash selling your appliances 🤞 Well done on registering your DD at a new nursery 👏
Excellent decluttering vulpix 👏 Pleased to see that you are decluttering some of your craft stash to a member of your knitting gang 😉 Just wondering if you still have all 3 of your original members in the knitting gang? & if you would like a few more balls of yarn 😉
daisy_1571, thank you for the detailed explanation of ‘frogs’ 😊
Florenceem, sorry to hear about more potential issues with MrF’s health 😔
Excellent decluttering MadamMim2013 especially the sales on Vinted 👏 Hope the garage clearing went well today 🤞
oceanspirit, nothing at all wrong with taking a couple of days to relax & catch up on your reading 😊 You will feel fully refreshed & will tackle any decluttering with renewed vigour ☺️
To quote Victor Meldrew “I don’t believe it” I am finally cheerleading posts dated the 18th 💃
Florenceem, I think it might take a while to catch up on all the sleep you have missed ☹️
GrannyKate, pleased to hear that the repairs to the car are done even if they did take rather longer than one would expect 😊 Of course, if it hadn’t taken so long you wouldn’t have spent any money other than for the repair work 😉 Although having said that you haven’t spent your money on fripperies 👏 Hope you enjoyed your first meeting of the year at History Group 😊
2Scratters, what a lovely welcome for _Dolly_Rocker_ ☺️ Excellent decluttering & repurposing 👏 Good luck reducing your shoe cleaning stash 🍀
BlueJ94, a busy morning 👏 The after eight cheesecake sounds yummy 🤤
Liverpool_Anne, Friday might have been a washout as far as decluttering physical items but you managed to declutter a blood test, shopping trip & buying petrol all in one trip out 👏 This “I looked at a few things and thought about doing a few things but didn't 😂😂” is me down to a tee but not just once in a while 😂 Lovely cheerleading 😊 & thanks for my hugs 🤗
Another busy morning Florenceem 👏 Good luck tackling the other side of your craft room 🍀
Florenceem, what a beautiful doll 😍 You are so talented ☺️
vulpix, hope the decorating prep goes well at DD1’s house 🤞 Fingers crossed that the search for tradespeople gets easier 🤞
Excellent decluttering ~FlowerPot~ 👏 You are zooming along 🤩
retiredinfrance, an excellent start to your 2025 Decluttering campaign 👏 “Sunk costs” is a difficult subject with heart & head fighting it out 😔 So well done on allowing your head to win ☺️
Florenceem, so pleased to hear that you are eating well 😊
WickedLady4, very public spirited of you & your DH 👏😇
Duchess2, hopefully your decluttering mojo is just having a wee rest & will return fully recharged on Monday 🤞Well done on getting all your washing & ironing done 👏
Catching up slowly but thought I would post this & have a little rest 😉

Having gathered together everything I needed, I had my first verruca treatment tonight 🙂 Poor DH has to handle my manky foot, as I am not flexible enough to put the gel on safely 🤞I will have one more session of cheerleading whilst I have my last hot drink.
diminua, how exciting - a total of 10 items to leave your house & you will be on Maintenance Decluttering 🥳 Please, please post when the items are gone so we can all celebrate with you & I can award you a gold star 🙏
nannywindow, love your mantra re ‘sunk costs’ - ”The thing doesn’t care.” 😊
WickedLady4, very lucky to have your garden waste emptied weekly 😊
redofromstart, sorry to hear about the outside electrics 😱 so well done on emptying the garage freezer 👏 I hope you didn’t have to bin too much food 🤞I also hope that you managed to warm up before going to bed 🙏
_Dolly_Rocker_ ouch re the cost of the car repairs 😣 However you have made an excellent start to your decluttering journey 👏 it sounds like you have been quite ruthless 🤩 A rock’n’roll lifestyle indeed 😉
London_1, I think our driver is trying to beat the Bullet Train 😂 Rather useful that the single duvets will get used & in such a good cause 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 I do hope you are enjoying your new sitting room 😊
Florenceem, one good thing to be said about all the items you brought home is that, as you had already decided that they were good enough quality to be listed on Vinted, you probably don’t need to do any more sorting before taking them to the CS 🤞 I was so pleased to read This “There were loads of donations in the foyer when I popped to SA - I would usually have stayed and sorted the lot - I didn't! I did grab 3 items that I thought could go on our table at the next table top sale - I didn't bring them home - stashed them in a crate at SA.” 🥳Sorry to hear that MrF doesn’t seem to be getting much better although it was nice to hear that he is more awake. Hopefully the doctors are close to a full diagnosis & can start a measured treatment plan 🙏 A lovely surprise to share the bus journey home with such a long standing friend 🥹 Ouch to the blistered thumb 😣 Please, please be careful 🙏 More gentle cwtches for you & MrF 🤗
Excellent & eclectic decluttering Dizzycap 👏

Morning all. Up a bit later this morning but I didn't get to bed until 10.
Mrs SD - well done on catching up!
My eldest daughter phoned last night - she is off to Sri Lanka on Monday for 2 weeks.
I had a voice message from my SA friend before 5.30 this morning.
I have a lot of rabbits on my craft desk. I had a cull of my bunnies in my burst of energy last night. I had brought them home from SA with the idea of doing something fund raising with them - making bags to attach - to hold Easter sweets. They must have multiplied! I will take a bag full to the charity shop - would make a good window display or they can sell for Easter. Either way - will be gone from the house.
Hope everyone has a good day.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@julie777 welcome and those who joined this jolly band.
I found a lady (maybe a blogger) on YT yesterday - actually I think she found me (one of those that get pushed your way type of things, AI or Goggle eaves dropping as it does) any how, she is a young English woman who does small videos about what we are all about in here. This mornings little ditty(that found me) was a proper eye opener. I am grateful that I don't have anything or the extra costs of having anything in storage. We did however when we down sized over 9 years ago from a 4 bed to a 2 bed bungalow have it, and the garage, stuffed to the rafters. We now no longer have a garage and still we/me (most of the stuff is mine) are moving stuff out one way or another. Check her out No_Buy_Nai
I have finished filling a (carrier) bag of items for Charity donation which will leave my car boot on Tuesday.
@Florenceem keep taking care of you too xx

Morning declutterati, what a busy few days on here!
Someone please explain what the EDT is?!
Not done as much as I'd hoped this week, but got shut of 2 of those dinky bottles of wine leftover from Christmas, the last of the balsamic vinegar, a couple of almost empty shampoo bottles got finished up, and a few bits from my over-full freezer.
Also decluttered hundreds (plural!) of emails, need to declutter the subs so they don't reappear, one of this week's frogs is to unsubscribe from a few every day.
All the bins are going out today for tomorrow, no idea which ones are being picked up, so need to get all the recycling stuff decluttered into the green ones, and household rubbish into the other one.
DD 15 is brilliant at decluttering, a little TOO efficient at times and loves deep cleaning her room - being autistic has some definite advantages, and she's a great motivator, too!
Big hugs to all those going through big stuff and with poorlies in their lives.
A xo
