My tips for those with nasty illnesses that suck your energy is I keep a little box on the landing bookcase that I use for bringing more than 1 item downstairs and then anything that can be decluttered is….decluttered straight away! I then use the same box for taking things back upstairs. I would try and train the dogs to do this but after things ended up in the garden….decided not to.

If you can’t read all the posts…..then don’t. The sky won’t fall in! 

Vulpix I refuse you permission to ever leave. I’m afraid that I count you as a very good virtual friend along with many others…….so you have to stay 😙😙😙

not many decluttering numbers this week as been working on 2 frogs - go me!

Scores on the doors:
48 a very useless sheet
49-51 stacks of emails
52-60 massive amounts of time on 2 frogs
61-70 hubby has been decluttering!!!!!! Not sure what exactly but surfaces in his area are clearer and he did it without being asked……🙄

Medical decluttering:
Blood tests (10 phials) in a hospital,  2 of which had to be with pathology within 30 mins with the usual “I don’t know if we can do that” “yes you can you did it last time” “oh well we will have to find someone to take it” “you do that!!!” Followed with A Look. Job done.
Ct scan this week…..

In other news - my terrarium is not looking too happy. One plant has keeled over and died and the fern looks a bit straw-like…..

and I have finally learnt a chain stitch in crochet!!!!

Sorry, I couldn't quote as I'm on my phone, but I would be up for a London declutterers meetup too. I'm only 45 mins from London by train. 🙂 PM me if you have one, and want me there, that is.🤣

I have a donation bag ready to go tomorrow. A vase, a book, a handbag and quite a few tops from my wardrobe. Also a wicker basket that I bought from a chazzer and thought it would be perfect for storage, but have never used.😊

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m 
3. Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed

Sunday: Back to late rising as I didn’t get up until 12:35 although I did sleep for 3.5 hours straight through 🙂 It is another dark, grey day & feels a bit chilly only a high of 4°C. I have drunk my first cuppa & am now on my 2nd & am ready to start cheerleading 🙂

Welcome aboard the EDT Spenywendywoo 👋 Lovely to meet you 😊 It sounds like you & your DH made an excellent start last year with both the decluttering & the decorating 👏 There is absolutely no need nor requirement to set a target 🙂 As your “house is tidy but open a drawer or cupboard and you may put your own life in your hands….. “ I am looking forward to celebrating your successes in making cupboards & drawers ‘safe to open’ 😊 Good luck 🍀 P.S. what a great name 😄

Florenceem, isn’t that always the way - just as you think you are getting on top of something (like paperwork) you find that there is more to do ☹️ I am hoping that you did decide to take a day off from visiting MrF 🙏 as I imagine the Sunday bus service is not that great. Perhaps you can combine ‘lots of resting’ with a teeny, tiny bit of decluttering 😉

TC77, sounds like you had a lovely time with DD2 🥹 Re the expired Premium Bond winning cheques, it is quite easy to get them reissued although she could get them paid directly into her bank account or even reinvest in more Premium Bonds 😉 The exhibition sounds wonderful - I do love looking at wildlife photographs 😊 Good luck tackling your tax return 🍀 & if you can manage an extra frog all well & good 😊

Wow Florenceem 🤩 Great decluttering 👏 I loved This “……sorted 3 more bags. When I have sorted - the bags go in the garage - labelled for which charity shop - gets them out of my craft room so I can see improvement. I make a trip to each charity shop every day ( apart from Sunday) so it gradually all gets out of the house.” you are so organised & an inspiration to us all 🥹

Good work on both the digital & book decluttering oceanspirit 👏 Not sure that breaking bowls is the best way to go about decluttering 😉 all that extra work sweeping up & making sure you haven’t left any shards on the floor ready to ambush you the one time you don’t have anything on your feet 😣 

QueenJess, great work using up crafting supplies & bathroom products 👏 Please try not to get downhearted at a slighter slower pace - remember that ‘using up’ is much slower than decluttering by donating, selling etc 😉 You have done such a wonderful job already 👏 I also believe that ‘using up’ is classed as Maintenance Decluttering 😊 The 2nd chocolate cake is just as delicious as the 1st one 🤤

Back from my dog walks and had a sandwich and a cuppa. Caught up here and I'm going to sit till 5pm then tidy up. 

Be back out with my own 2 6:30pm then down to do my evening paid walk so be home around 8ish. 

Can't wait to get home and cosy. 

vulpix - Glad you're not leaving. You can cheer us all on when we get our decluttering done. I am HOPELESS at DIY. Well done all of you. 

Florenceem - Hope you're service was nice and did you take part in the photos? Hopefully you'll be able to seem them when the project is complete. What is in the bags? I'm intrigued. 

Brie - Well done on finally getting rid of the sandy thingymajig. I'm also terrible at getting rid even when it's broken. Trying to do better and this thread is defo helping.

Mrs SD - I can see in my mind - the charity shop window adorned with soft toy bunnies and featuring a yellow background and clothes in lemon and green. May be I should have been a window dresser.
Washing is now hanging on the airer and dishwasher is doing it's thing.
I phoned the hospital as I am not visiting - Mr F is saying more - sometimes intelligible - he has asked for his glasses. They are going to test if his swallow reflex is good enough to come off the tube feeding.
I need a diagnosis - hopefully the EEG tomorrow will show results.
Yes daughter and hubby are having a holiday - going on safari - hoping to see leopards. Also going whale watching. They are not ones for just lying on a sunbed.
I did some sorting in my craft room before I went to Church.
I think I know the mystery person who left bags in my porch - I am trying to get rid not add to my stuff.

Unfortunately DD has an emotional attachment to everything. She can come up with a story of why it needs keeping for probably every item she owns!

Today I've used up two candles. They will go to the lady who makes them for recycling. Not quite decluttered, but on their way.

DD is a star.. she bought something today with money from grandparents and gave away a puzzle.  So overall she is net nil.

I got on really well with decluttering this afternoon as well as having a good sit down. I have lots in the garage ready to leave the house.
I am going to reward myself when I have a tidy and clean craft room by - having a play with my new toy which is still sealed in it's box.
Then things went wrong - found out that two of my daughters are arguing again!  Well not even talking now.
