Good idea@Florenceem. Church and a rest from visiting will do you good. When Mr Rif was in a very deep medical sleep, when I arrived , the nurses encouraged me to go home and rest. He has no memory of those early days so me being there wouldn’t have registered. X16

Please may I join again?
I was part of this thread a few years ago, and was quite consistent at getting rid and sorting but then life got in the way.
Had a horrendous 2024 and want to start 2025 getting on top of things and then keeping on top of it
So far this year I have:
Decluttered DD's wardrobe and craft drawers
My paperwork box (that was a years worth)
And started on some of the drawers.
I've got rid of four bags of rubbish
Two bags of clothes
My old electrical unworking items
Cleared the random cable drawer.
Given my candle.empty jars to a candle maker and listed a lot of items for fre or low prices to recycle more.
Most recycled in the relevant bins.
I've still got my wardrobe, under the bed,the office and also the cupboard under the stairs. Determined to have clear space in my cupboards and that everything has it's place and room
Getting things organised helps my mental health!

Home after my last paid walk. Had a shower, in my jammies and making something to eat.
Managed to catch up.BlueJ94 - I really want to learn to crochet but honestly couldn't find the time right now. It's on my list though.London_1 - It really is isn't it! I'm struggling to keep up but I'll get there. I had no idea about the donation at Dunelm. If I'm being honest I've avoided that shop for a long time as that's where my ex used to work. Well done on the decluttering and the bag for the charity shop!Florenceem - Aw Mr F is very likely confused and struggling to understand what is going on. I hope he continues to get stronger everyday. That's nice you met a friend on the bus, bet the journey felt shorter for that. I am terrible for burning myself. Just managed to heal the last 2 I had. You also need to rest and take care of yourself, go to church and then try as much as you can to have a relaxing day.MrsSD - Well done on decluttering the buttons. Also absolutely love your cheerleading which as inspired me to do some of my own!Dizzycap - You've done so much today! Enjoy your cuppa and biscuit.daisy_1571 - I really need to read over that again when I've got some time. Really want to get the most out of this thread.MadamMim2013 - I am tired just thinking of all that work! Enjoy your rest.Spendywendywoo - Welcome! I'm very new to this aswell but loving it so far. I haven't set a target.Willowtree222 - Wow you're already way ahead of the game. Well done and welcome back.Debt Free - 4th June 202521 -
On a slow train home and catching up on the decluttering bullet train. Been to brum to see dd2, took her expired premium bond winning cheques so she can follow up. Saw the wildlife photographer of the year exhibition and lovely time together which helped us both declutter stress we have when at home together. She confirmed the cute soft dinosaurs she included in her to go bag can go.... I was tempted to keep. She is ok about her room being painted and said she will go through things at Easter and accepts I may move while she's away..... though looking to move is ongoing and the event may be years ago..
Love the doll @Florenceem and hope you rest tomorrow too. Such talents amount all those here.
Nearly decluttered my hat but we retraced steps and founding it in the gallery. Already decluttered a hat and several gloves on my travels this winter !
Have hope of tax and other frogs being tackled tomorrow.
Some kitchen items in cs bag early this morning and will do nos tomorrow. Bought the cosiest slippers while out and v tempted to wear on the train! Old ones will go in textile recycling tomorrow.
@daisy_1571 I think posted all the tips which is a great reminder. I'm trying the container method for some things although as i have many containers it can be tempting to reach for a bigger one sometimes17 -
Thanks, it sounds like a lot of us had a difficult 2024, I need a focus and this has to be it.
I've been doing one drawer, or place at a time only. It helps significantly, if it is achievable. I've also been watching a lot of documentaries on TV and taking a drawer into the room with me to watch and sort. I've found that helps.
Also doing things when DD is out otherwise it turns into everything going back as she wants to keep everything!September 2017 Debt = £25330

I had a sudden burst of energy before my shower - sorted 3 more bags.
When I have sorted - the bags go in the garage - labelled for which charity shop - gets them out of my craft room so I can see improvement.
I make a trip to each charity shop every day ( apart from Sunday) so it gradually all gets out of the house.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hello and welcome to all the new passengers hopping aboard.
Deleted some more emails this morning and spent the rest of the day reading books. One finished that will be leaving very soon.
Broke another bowl and will have to get some new ones at some point.

Things are going very slowly here as I am working through using a number of things up. I don't feel as on top of things at the moment as I have a couple of big projects sat around cluttering up my side. Not much I can do about that until I've finished them and I did make 5 gift tags and 10 xmas cards this evening. Still lots of wrapping paper odds and ends to use up, although the box is definitely going down. I could use bathroom things more often to use them up, but I want to use things up frugally and not waste them; so I only use things when I have to. I have quite a few different things almost used up across the craft, stationery and bathroom categories now.A couple of things to report:1 - bathroom over supplies used up1 - craft supplies used upNew total = 234New use it up total = 8There is still DH's chocolate birthday cake in the tlc carriage for everyone, but it won't be there long.
