basket case, thank you for vegan Turkish delight. Yum.Brie, I am with you on the nice socks, ugly socks pack. Just why?Little miss determined, I think frog comes from a Mark Twain quote. I am sure someone will tell you exactly. A Frog is a job that has been put off and when it is finally done it is eaten.Congratulations to mini crazy cat lady 2. 🚗Well that’s a mystery Mrs SD. I’ve not heard of verruca for years. Get well soon. I think the antique centre your sister likes was on 4 in a bed today. 😀

Littlemissdetermined a frog 🐸 comes from the idea that if you get up in the morning and one of your tasks for the day is to eat a frog, you gotta just get on and do it and thats the worst thing you'll do that day out the way. So when we have tasks we have shelved for a while we refer to them as frogs.
If we know they are small tasks that can turn into frog for us ie post piles up on a flat surface, if you deal with that day's post it can be referred to as a tadpole ie it would have grown into a frog if not done.
Sometimes we leave frogs for so long they turn into cane toads. I think they are a large amphibian.
Often members of the declutterati find that when they finally get round to doing a frog it was actually only a tadpole. Thats a win. A frog that grows arms and legs and turns into a couple of cane toads, well that's NOT a good day !

Another thing the Dr hit me with was - they are going to do an ECG as there may be a problem with Mr F's heart.
The EEG can tell them if it is Parkinsons.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Read and deleted some emails from December. Many more to do.
Also been reading library books today as they are due back and have already been renewed a few times. It feels wrong to spend a whole day reading when there are so many other things needing to be done however I have really enjoyed it. Will do the same tomorrow.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅17 -
- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
To cap off what has mostly been a nothing day I fell asleep on the sofa after dinner (breadcrumbed fish, oven chips & peas) Woke up & watched a bit of tv & then wudupa.
109 - 111 Kitchen recycling, newspaper, drinks cans - recycling
112 Kitchen detritus binned
Welcome aboard the EDT _Dolly_Rocker_ lovely to meet you 👋 Thank you for telling us about yourself 😊 A great overarching plan with daily goals that will get you to your desired clutter free home 👏 This “I have little piles about the place and it doesn't look too bad but jeez you open the cupboards then you're in for a right treat!” is true for so many of us 😉 I am looking forward to following your decluttering journey & celebrating your successes with you 😊
Soontobeoap, This “My problem is getting back to the big tasks the next day and sticking with one area until it is finished.I have realized that I am a bit flighty where housework is concerned which is why we always look cluttered It's not just a case of letting go of stuff is it? Although that helps obviously!” sounds like me 😱 I do like to tinker round the edges 😂 Well done on sticking with sorting out the Christmas craft bits 👏
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏
Wednesday2000, who knew that meditation was so dangerous 😉 Hopefully the next class you attend doesn’t cause any more injuries 🤞Great decluttering of your sock drawer 👏
Dizzycap, I am lucky enough not to have to go food shopping - I have delegated it to my DH (who hates it as much as I do) & my DSis (who loves it) 😉🍀Absolutely brilliant - contents behind 3 wardrobe doors condensed behind one cupboard door 👏🥳
One page caught up but am off to bed now. Sleep tight everyone 😴

Morning all.
retiredinfrance - I have been living on fish & chips and dinners from the SA. I have a SA dinner for today - mash, carrots, broccoli and chicken. I am still working my way through the bowls of apple crumble and custard. I am eating satsumas and apples.
I had 7 and a half hours sleep but still feel wrung out.
I will do my upkeep jobs and go into town at 9.

Morning all. Not a lot more done yesterday as I had to occupy myself in 'town' for 4 plus hours whilst my car was fixed. DD sent pictures later of her wander round Prague as her business finished at 12 and she didn't need to go to the airport until 5. I've been there several times and I must say it looked nicer than walking round the town here. Very cold in Prague but no snow. The problem with the car lights was a fuse as I expected - it will be nice to be able to see inside the car at night to put seatbelt on etc. They have also ordered me a new boot cover as the clip was broken when I got the car and it won't stay in place. No charges thankfully.
I spent a bit of money on my wanders - PJs and underwear for DGD4, a magazine and some puzzle books and an atlas for the car - I do like to have a map book in the car even if not used as much as I did before electronic systems. The one I had was 5 years old and very battered. I had bought one of those boot boxes for the new car and I have sorted through a very old battered bag I had before and kept a few bits. Trying to keep this car tidy. I was going to go to the car wash but realised I had no cash in my bag as I put it back in the little box I have at home for things like window cleaners, hairdressers etc. After shopping and a cooked breakfast (Yummy) I went to the library and sat with my magazine and puzzles until it was time to go back to garage. DiL messaged me to go in for cup of tea on my way home as she was there so it was gone 3 when I got home having left before 8 to take children to school. DGCs are not back until Thursday. I also made appointments at Mr W for kitchen to be measured and for potential plans.

@_Dolly_Rocker_ welcome aboard. Congratulations at your young age of getting to grips and realising with your plan of sorting debt and clutter/stuff will make your life so much better. There will be a few in here wishing our light bulb moment had lit earlier. Pleased you have found this fab group.
I have bravely put 6 items of clothing into a bag to be dropped off at parents location where a charity has placed a large collection box and it has already been emptied twice since its installation and it was overflowing with stuff. It will be dropped off there on Tuesday whilst doing my shift. The bag will be stored in my car till then but items are gone from the house.
Not sure if I mentioned repurposing an item an old 5lb sweet tin was used for shoe polish and bits it had got rusty and we had a new tin gifted complete with Pannatone (which has since been decluttered too) now got a posh shoe polish tin. Keeping an even keel is still good enoughI do need to get the shoe polish items together like with like and go through them as there is an open wooden box with handle in the loft full of same type of contents that needs a visit as we do not need this quota. I would love to keep the old box plus it holds less so is a reducing mission all round.
Have a good weekend
2 Scratters xx
