Thank you @Liverpool_Anne and Mrs SD
The skip is now full. An 8 yard skip is supposed to be 80 black bags. It certainly feels that way to me. I tried to focus on adding stuff like rotten wood, off cuts and rusty metal, although I know that they split it down and recycle further. The reusable stuff was piling up and stressing me.
Really pleased to have found a charity shop place a few minutes drive away, and took three bags of clothes, two sacks of gardening books and two boxes of kitchenalia this afternoon. Good to know I can fill the bags for the week and do a once a week drop off locally. although I think I will avoid Friday afternoons in future as the carpark was full unlike in the morning when I called in to see if they accept donations. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

A frog completed. Craft group annual meeting notes written up along with finance report. Counting as one. Also decluttered a tin of gloss paint. Had enough left to paint 2 landing doors and their frames. By the way Mrs SD I am completing before carpet is fitted next week. DH is after more chocolate cake so I will be making some tomorrow morning and hopefully finishing landing paintwork in the afternoon. DD passed her test 🎉
Nothing gone out today, waiting for a return to be collected. Tried to buy a kitchen trolley on wheels but first one had bits missing and second one has nuts and bolts that don't connect so I've given up now 😂
Need to get some motivation next week to start walking stuff to charity shop though20 -
Does thinking about decluttering get me any gold stars?? I am making a small pile of things that will def go (cashmere socks in the wrong colour and that have nubbly seams that bother my toes) (why do they sell a nice coloured pair with a dreadful colour? I got them for the blue with purple toes & heels but that meant also getting beige with orange which don't go with anything).
Also thinking of getting rid of a pair of jeans I wore for the first time this week. They fit just fine. They're actually labelled as jeggings so really stretchy and seemed to be the only thing I might have for the start of a series of physio gym classes. They were fine but they are the sort that have a slash across one knee. I'm not really the type to have slashed jeans and certainly don't have the best knees to show off. But they only cost me about £7 when I bought them in September so I won't be too upset if I get rid. OH has unearthed a pair of sweatpants that are too short for him so I'll see if they'll do. If they don't it's into the bag to go. If they do then the jeggings can go instead. I did consider buying something for the gym class but couldn't bring myself to pay £24 for polyester sweats in vile colours.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. - Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
The reason for getting up earlier than usual was that DH had finally persuaded me to go to the UTC at the hospital 😉 I have had something wrong with my foot for a while but as it hadn’t really been causing a problem I ignored it. I have got out the ‘wagging finger emoji’ to use on myself 😉 However, over the last couple of days I noticed that my foot was swollen. I have been unable to see what the issue is (as the problem is on the outside edge of my foot on the curved bit) - I am not very flexible at all 😉 so finally got DH to take a look & he thought the area looked yellow/infected. Upshot is we left home at 11:20, triaged in A&E, over to UTC & seen within 10 minutes & joy of joys it is nothing serious. I have a verruca but not actually on the sole of my foot as is usual. No idea how I got it but DH & I stopped off at a pharmacy on the way home & picked up some gel (the famous one with the catchy tagline 😂) We were back indoors by 14:30 - remarkably quick and we spent way more time on buses than at the hospital 😊 DH did his good deed for the day - a young lady carrying a baby & with a push chair - hadn’t realised her Oyster card needed topping up & the bus driver was not being very sympathetic so DH paid her bus fare 😊

foxandflowers, re This “On the news this morning they said a THIRD of all Brits say that shopping is their favourite hobby.” SERIOUSLY - who on earth did they interview 😳 Great work clearing your laundry mountain 👏
Charming cards QueenJess 😊 Happy Birthday to your DH 🎂 hope he is enjoying his chocolate cake 😋
Crazycatlady2, fingers crossed that you get a couple more offers & that the sale goes through quickly 🤞 Hope your DD passed her driving test 🙏
D123456789, great use of an unexpected day off 🤩 Brilliant decluttering 👏 your mojo was ‘strong’ as 30 minutes turned into 3 hours 🥳 I am so impressed that I am awarding you a gold Star ⭐️ LO has definitely inspired you 😊 I do hope you rewarded yourself with a swim 😊
So much for catching up 😉 For some reason I have felt very cold today even though I am wearing warm clothes & have the heating on so I put my lack of progress down to brain freeze 😅 I will post this, make dinner & hopefully come back later with more energy 🤞

basketcase - I love Turkish Delight - just had one of the limited edition orange flavour bars. I can't really take the time to visit the TLC carriage.
Crazycatlady2 - great news about the test pass.
Mrs SD - a Verruca is something I haven't had - may be because I don't visit a swimming pool?
I went to visit Mr F and planned to do a shorter visit as advised by a Church friend. It was 24 in his tiny room - I nearly or did I nod off? There is no interaction with Mr F - his eyes were nearly open today but he doesn't seem to be focusing. He has done a bit of mumbling.
My longer visit was waiting to speak to a Dr - Lumbar Punch results aren't back.
Mr F now has a chest infection with fluid on both sides - he didn't have one but I expect it is laying down and not being able to cough.
He is still on oxygen and being fed by tube plus having IV antibiotics & anti virals.
They have done blood tests for antibodies.

Nothing out of the house today, but confirmation the fridge freezer and cooker fitted into the new house will be part of the fixtures and fittings, so cleaned the fridge freezer ready to put up on FB marketplace and will tackle the cooker once that's gone; the garage is a bit of an appliance and furniture obstacle course here at present.
Completed forms to register for a place for DD at a new nursery 10 minutes from new house for September, so they will be dropped off on Monday, also counting have viewed and selected a new nursery as my first frog off the year. Tackling a second frog tonight and sorting out insurance quotes so we know what the cost will be for when we exchange and also finding best tariffs for electric/gas/broadband etc.
Away with work next week, so will need to power through this weekend to make up for 4 days of not being able to declutter at all. Tonight though, bar computer things all I am fit for is a cup of tea, a nice hot bath and an early night; work was very heavy going today.
Hope all have a good weekend2025 in 2025- 2027/2025
