Yesterday I watched some minimalist videos where they still found quite a bit to declutter and I realised I did also have a lot of excess still to go. I decluttered 39 items by looking through one drawer at a time and considering it all, but then burned out after 30-45 mins and had to take a break (and had no time for my 10 min cleaning session). Little and often is definitely the way, but I clearly need to look in detail at one drawer/cupboard/shelf at a time.3 - plastic hangers recycled

Here is yesterday’s post which I forgot to send 🙊
Tuesday: Started raining 11:20 short shower turning to light drizzle with a chilly breeze - high 23°C, low 16°C & humidity 72% I had woken up earlier at 08:30 for a bathroom visit & took the opportunity to wake DH as he needed to get up. He had been offered a place on a 12 week weight loss programme (wlp) but it is at an awkward to get to hospital. (The local wlp had started when we were in Scotland) Hopefully he will come home with lots of information & I can try to join in especially as I do at least 95% of the cooking. DH home by 13:00 - no info just needs to keep a food diary & steps diary for a week & the real work starts next week. It rained on & off for most of the day. I did precisely nothing all day. DH ordered in - chicken burgers for me & DSis, beef burger for DH + fries for DSis & loaded chips for us. Wudupa

Another session in the garden trimming the rambling rose that goes over the arch and cutting back the long grass at the bottom of the garden. That's another 2 bin bags ready to go and a much nicer outlook through our French doors. Another stroll through the butterflys today we saw 60 butterflys in our 15 minutes. Wednesday: will try to do better today both with posting & cheerleading 😉 An overcast & dull day with a high of 23° & low of 16°, humidity 53% Up late 12:30 having woken up from a nightmare about moving with everything going wrong 😱 DH made my first cup of tea & then headed out for a walk. General household waste wheelie bin was emptied this morning (on time) & I have already done more than yesterday by putting in a new black bin bag 😅
Currently watching the new series with Elisabeth Moss. A bit slow but I will persevere although the attempt at a British accent is very distracting ☹️ DH got home 13:40. Now at 14:30 DH & DSis are dismantling her double bed & building the single bed + some general tidying. Both of them are knackered although not everything has gone back into her bedroom yet. DSis has also washed all her old bedding & I am hopeful that she will be donating to CS 🤞Now to catch up with the cheerleading:
weenancy, sounds like the book sale went really well 😊 & I hope you raised lots of $$$ 🤞Great news that your regulars keep turning up & that lots of new people also turn up & may become regulars 🥳 Also really pleased to hear that your DSis is still helping out with the decluttering & has now roped in your nephew for some heavy lifting 🥹 Hopefully between them, your DSis & nephew can ‘encourage/persuade’ your roommates to fully participate in clearing out the ‘library’ 🙏🤞I cannot believe (or maybe I can ☹️) how selfish your roommates are 😠 Everything crossed that the missionaries don’t cancel again so that you can get a huge amount out into the community dumpsters 🤞We appear to have missed all the stormy weather & not had as much rain as we would like.
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Hope the funeral goes as well as it can & is a celebration of a life well lived 🙏
GrannyKate, sounds like a nightmare re the road closure 😱 Hopefully they will get a move on & do the resurfacing quickly & efficiently 🤞🙏Your day out in Whitby sounds wonderful 🤩 & hopefully you will have a lovely afternoon out 🤞Excellent decluttering 👏 & good luck dealing with frogs 🍀
Brie, I love it - such an unusual declutter ☺️
Lovely post Dizzycap ☺️ What a very busy morning you had yesterday 🤩 I do hope you had a rest in the afternoon 🙏
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 So pleased to hear that you are noticing clear areas in your home - a testament to your consistent work decluttering 🥳
London_1, great work in the garden 👏 Pleased to hear that your grandsons are relaxing 😎 It might be an odd request but I am hoping that you will post a picture of the potatoes that Jack harvests 🙏
Great decluttering suzeesu2000 👏 & well done on doing your laundry 👏
Brie very droll 😉
Soontobeoap, excellent work in the garden 👏 Please, please make sure that none of your scratches get infected 🙏 I had never heard of the Butterfly Count 🦋 - what a lovely activity 🥹
Great work oceanspirit 👏
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Another great idea for decluttering 👏
Excellent work suzeesu2000 👏 You will definitely have the bedroom fully decluttered by the end of the month ☺️ With the added bonus that you will have been honing your decluttering skills 🥹 which will hopefully help when you start on the landing & the airing cupboard 🤞
Thanks daisy_1571 ☺️
Soontobeoap, another excellent session in the garden 👏 Wow to seeing so many butterflies 🤩
All caught up just in time to make dinner 😉

Landed back from hols yesterday, a good break even if we spent too much of it bullying my daughters into drinking enough to avoid/recover from dehydration.Back to work etc with a bump with a number of personal frogs gathered to await me too. Such is life!Next week, at late notice, we won't be allowed into the office from Wednesday so I've had to contact my Manager about when to be in to say formal goodbyes - after 22+ years I don't want to do it in a virtual meeting. There's a welcome to the new role (me and DH) to RSVP to which is a non-trivial frog since it's not taken the school day into account.I've managed to clear most things out of our back room that are not completely packed and labelled, and so that can become the stacking room, and a few more boxes done. Still taking the Greenhouse apart, but made a little more progress today.Decluttering awards 2025: 🏅🏅⭐️ ⭐️, DH: ⭐️ and one for Mum: 🏅11

One of those big teddy bear fleece “poncho” type things gone. Sorted another three drawers and now have a carrier bag of feminine hygiene items ready to go. Will donate to local Foodbank. Managed to put away two carrier bags of other hygiene products so now neat and tidy and not on the floor anymore. xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Soontobeoap said:I am a bit late I think but today I have been attacked by the rose bushes as I snip off the rose hips and give them a trim. I didn't do it last year and they have gone rampant and become very untidy. 2 bags full ready to go. I usually sit with a drink when gardening but always see something else to do and don't sit still long. This week was the launch of the big butterfly count and I have been taking 15 minutes out to enjoy nature and count the different ones that come into our garden. I recommend it. I can actually feel the stress draining out of me . You wouldn't believe the different butterflys we have seen either. For variety we have done it a couple of times whilst walking the neighbours dog too. If any of you need a bit of TLC and can't get to the carriage give it a go.🦋
I always say I'm going to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and looking at the garden which never happens! I sit down I see, I go and do and so the cycle goes on with sipping on a cold cup of coffee
@ suzeesu2000 - I had to laugh at his Lordship not liking plastic bowlsBabyface refuses to eat off or drink out of anything, unless it's the family best china
Not that she's spoilt in the least!
It sounds as though everyone is still beavering away with decluttering & cleaning which is always an inspiration when the mojo has gone walkies for a couple of days!Having said that, I'm up at silly o'clock and am finished the HH chores along with 2 loads of washing pegged out, babyface having gone for her walk in the doggie stroller and sniff pottering to do her jobs, breakfast & medication served for Missy upon return home along with her cleaning & bathing, and then pottering in the front & back garden & cleaning up / deheading & watering, if needed all finished by 7.30am ready to have a break before I start my work!
I still haven't listed anything new for my decluttering sales, but I've got items listed & am selling a few items each week rather than a bucket load each day - I feel less burnt out, but I know I have to at least get drafts completed so that I can just list things immediately / schedule listings when I want to. I'm actually finding it far more difficult to get the last items; around about 100 left, than when I was swapped with clutter *shuddering at the thought and the Mega Tardis wardrobe of total doom! I've also completed 3 forms along with posting them all off this afternoon together with 2 decluttering sales parcels, as they were all cluttering up the desk & just had to be decluttered pronto!
Babyface is coming along nicely, although I still am concerned about infection, so am watching her like a hawk! Looing after the children was far easier, and don't think I'm joking!, but I wouldn't be without babyface Missy Toes for a second
Oooo it's getting a little late, so I need to get another coffee before we go off to bed, or should I say, I go and join babyface who has already taken herself off to bed & is gruting & snoring away which is music to my earsShe's loving her new inside ramps and has for now, stopped whizzing down them
Good night all, take care & ta-ta for now xxxxx

Hello good people, Nice to hear of your decluttering, it really does help spur me on.
I did one of those WLP's Mrs SD, I found it excellent, I lost 4 stone but life happened and as an emotional eater I gained a lot but not all back. Although I am not as big any more I asked about weight loss support last time I was at the Doctor's. It's self referral online. I will brace myself to do it. I hate having to do stuff online. I am at overload with online stuff atm with solicitors so the WLP will have to wait a bit.
I decluttered a nice fruit bowl by not being tall enough to reach in the wall cupboard and knocking a vase on to it! Also gone today, a chair and a book case. The large mirror is also sold and collected.
I have been to Mum's house today and done more painting of furniture for our new bedroom. Olive green type colour. I have never had green before in the house. It will be a nice change.
Mr V doing holiday cover tomorrow then going to another job to tidy some equipment he keeps there. It will give me the chance to actually finish the ironing I have been attempting for weeks.
Not long till your big move YBR, exciting.
