Good morning chums ,boys arrived safe and sound although Jack was very tired as he drove from Kent to Colchester, picked his younger brother up and all his goods and chattels and then drove down to Portsmouth to the ferry, so it was a long drive for him as he hasn't done such a long one before
He teaches in Goudhurst at a boarding school, and lives on site so as a rule he just pootles around Kent most of the time .Mikey is here until the end of September before he goes back to Colchester for his last year at Uni. So we will be feeding him up as he is rake thin.
They made good inroads to the cheesy sausage rolls I made yesterday a good dozen vanished with their first cuppa when they arrived
A good dousing of rain overnight, but dry now and a nice cool breeze which is lovely after all the excessive heat.
The boys are possibly going fishing later today as they enjoy that. As its cooler we will probably walk the dogs on the beach as well.
Mikey has got a good deal of decluttering to do as there are bags and boxes everywhere as his shared house had to be emptied before he could leave and its surprising how much stuff he had collected around him.
But they both can have the day off today as yesterday was a long day for them both
Onwards and upwards

I don’t generally join in with the chat but read along daily. I am getting very concerned about @Florenceem and Mr. F
Has anybody heard any news?17 -
Me too hoping all is well11

Not a lot of decluttering going on here this afternoon, besides mugs of coffee
I'm feeling very tired and Miss babyface keeps sniffing my left leg and looking at me, so I decided to start a short course of strong antis to be on the safe side. I must say, I do feel a little better already! She is and has always been worth her weight in gold & watched me to make sure I took the tablets before stomping off satisfied that she'd done a good job!
Popping off to get another mug of coffee
Ta-ta for now xxx

Popping in quickly as my parents are here (don't worry - I only saw one thing per kid being brought in, so that's ok!). Managed to finish rearranging the baking cupboard. Still got a bit much in there, but I've got some "flux" space as sometimes I do have different ingredients as I bake a lot and I will be concentrating on using up some extra things in here and the stuff I put in the overflow cupboard.Having success with 10 min stints still and I managed 3 lots today - 10 mins tidy, 10 mins clean (DD's room dusted and cleaned the paintwork in DD's and DS's rooms) and 10 mins sorting emails/digital/life admin/finances. I like knowing that there is a definite end. If I only have 10 mins, I will pick the thing that is most pressing. I do feel like I am starting to catch up slowly.Having a bit of a pause after my epic decluttering efforts over the past week and will be seeing if I use everything before I do any more layers of decluttering. I'm sure I'll find more after holiday when I realise I don't need all this stuff!Digital:

I have temporarily decluttered a pair of sandals to the shoe repairer. He is building and shaping two new wedge soles for me as nothing pre-made will fit the profile of the sandal. I’ve split the back of the wedge heel vertically and there’s no structure inside the wedge for him to build on.I’m trying not to think about how much this will cost me (£65) because I love those sandals and they will end up with permanently repairable. If he wasn’t such a good repairer I’d have mentally quibbled longer than I did but I could hear my Mum’s voice in my head (her dad was also a shoe repairer)) about the amount of work and skill it will take and how that is rare these days.Mum’s dad was working in the 1920s - 1940s and learnt to do orthotic inserts/ build up soles to correct treads etc before it was considered a specialist activity. He also spent WWII repairing army boots in Aldershot.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

@ QueenJess - It's what you don't see coming in that's the worry!
Parents always have a habit of sneaking something in when you're not looking!
I've got 2 auction bids for items finishing tonight so I've been pre-packaging them up ready to declutter out of the house as soon as they've been paid for - Hopefully the RM quad lockers will be fairly empty now the school holidays have arrived!I really hope to shift some more items before the day is done - The doggie stroller is available and waiting to be filled with Missy & parcels

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday: drizzled a little during the morning - high 21°C, low 16°C, humidity 78% so feels a lot warmer. Last load of washing is in wm & surprisingly the bits I left out on the whirligig overnight are dry 😮💨 It drizzled on & off all day although no heavy rain, I dried the last load of washing in the td. DH watched the MotoGP races. Dinner was most of the lo bolognaise sauce with spaghetti. Wudupa

Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Pleased to hear that DS’s room is coming along 😊 & hopefully you will come up with a solution going forward 🤞 I love that your DD still wants to join in with the decluttering 🥹
vulpix, that is amazing - what a brilliant result 🤩 although as you say it is difficult to understand how he makes a living 🤔 Good luck with your future listings 🍀
Dizzycap, loved This “We've had some lovely glorious rain here for hours which has temporarily stopped and I'm loving every minute of it and so is the garden!” with the added bonus that it has probably cooled the temperature to a more reasonable level 😊 Good job it wasn’t a video call to the DVLA 🤣 Excellent work with the painting 👏 So pleased to hear that babyface is well & truly on the mend & is enjoying going up the indoor ramps as well as down 🥹
oceanspirit, hope you enjoy your 2 weeks without OH & don’t miss OH too much 😉 Good luck with your To Do lists 🍀
TC77, sorry to hear that you are exhausted even after a lie-in ☹️ The creative textiles course sounds interesting especially if it gets you back to knitting 😊 It was kind of you to help Dcousin with paperwork - I think it is easier if two of you can do it 🥹 Hopefully you & your DB will be able to help each other with your parents paperwork 🙏 Good luck with making progress on frogs 🍀
Excellent news about the sales vulpix 👏 more pennies into the new house pot for renovations 😊 That dress sounds lovely - any chance of a picture 😉 & good luck finding suitable sandals 🍀
No excuses for not catching up with the cheerleading 😔 will try harder tomorrow. Sleep tight 😴
