New gardener did a good couple of hours decluttering weeds and pruning out dead wood. Amazing how much there is and how much nicer it looks once done. I guess that's what we need to think about our indoor pruning....how much nicer it will all be.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Hi chums a nice drop of rain overnight but by 11.00 it stopped and back came the sun but feels a lot fresher at least
At least it filled up the two water butts nicely. We go on a hosepipe ban from next Monday but DD and I have not been using the hosepipe for a couple of weeks and have just been filling the watering can twice a day for the plants tomatoes and peppers The grass will return no matter what
we do put a big dish out for the birds daily plus seed on the bird table
we found that a Mamma Robin has got a little one in the nest in our Bay tree
George and Mildred our resident wood pidgins abandoned their nest when a jackdaw took their eggs
we seem to have a good few jackdaws locally so I’m hoping they will leave Mama Robin alone
I’ve just cooked three dozen sausage rolls for my two grandsons who are due over in the 15.20 ferry
memo to myself ;:
Don’t cook sausage rolls on a very hot day it’s exhausting 😅the sun has returned with avengence and I’m very hot , but I know the boys will declutter them very quickly 🤣🤣🤣
right time for a cuppa before Jack and Mikey arrive
keep cool if you can chums16 -

That was brave for a hot day! Cooler here than yesterday, but humid. Doesn't take much before you realise you are sweating buckets!Hoping to find 10 mins for a tidy up run round later and also need to put one load of washing on as well. I've been sorting a little bit more of the kitchen cupboards (lots still to use up), put some of the containers I'd dumped upstairs in an official leaving capacity, sorted through DS's clothes and finished DS's surfaces. DS now needs to tidy the floor which is the bit that's a total tip right now and he should be pretty much done. Somehow we need to keep on top of his room and keep him decluttering/tidying. Not quite got that worked out yet. DD came back before we'd finished and also wanted to declutter, so a few of her bits have gone as well. She still has too many clothes due to having 2 sizes out, but I can only face one clothing item at one time, so it will very slowly dissipate.Mini kitchen challenge deleted as I've surpassed it already and the big kitchen declutter is similar. Halfway through the big kitchen declutter, although it will slow down soon as I will just have lots of things to use up.Digital:

We went to collect the stuff from the jeweller. he charged £30 !!!!!!! he altered 2 pairs of earrings to easier for me to use stud and post type which included him actually making something for one pair. He remade Mr V's 18th birthday signet ring in silver. Actually copied the broken bits!!!! and shortened a silver chain. He also spent half an hour trying to fix a watch strap before saying he wouldn't trust the pin so send it to Breitling for proper parts.I don't know how he makes a living. I tried on the bangle and he will now get my random selection of diamonds deep set. It will be a little while as his diamond guy is on holiday.
It was our day for bargains, we just had to go to the £2 chazzer, we got Mr V a dress shirt still in the packaging, an M n S top for me and a Principles dress for me. I will be the belle of the ball in it on our cruise. When the tops worn yesterday and today have been washed they will go to the chazzer with a necklace I wore yesterday and I couldn't get on with it. One top is too big and the other I'm not really feeling the colour. I have also sold a tall slim display/ bookcase type unit.
I have more, bigger things to list that I don't think we will need at the next house. We need more banana boxes so I can do more packing in the kitchen. I am glad that we are due a quieter week next week, I might get more done.

That was a great price and sounds like a great jeweller vulpix

Saturday: it has rained on & off all morning & is now overcast, dark & cool 23°C 18°C humidity 80% Still no sign of the recycling chaps. It brightened up mid afternoon so having done one load of washing I bravely/foolishly hung it outside 🙊 Oh well it has had an extra rinse 🤣 DH phoned - not so happy today as he has been rained on from 10:00 this morning & is soaked. Should be home by 20:00. 18:50 temperature is still 22°C although humidity has dropped to 69%. Bolognese sauce is cooking now & 2nd load has been washed & is now tumble drying. Just had a mini burst of activity & moved the bags of soup ingredients from the kitchen freezer to the garage freezer (which still needs defrosting 😞) DH got home 19:50, wet undies & socks but the rest of him just damp as he had dried off a bit 😉 Had the bolognese sauce with conchiglie. TC77, sorry to hear that you have to get in touch with your ex & that it affects DD1 so negatively 😔 Also very sorry for your loss - condolences to you & your cousin 😢 Very pleased to hear that DD2 is starting to enjoy herself in Australia as I remember you saying that she was very nervous. Hopefully she will enjoy enjoy her uni work once she gets started 🥹
Dizzycap, I am using the weekend to build myself up to spending hours on the phone to DWP on Monday 😉 Very pleased to hear that babyface is almost fully recovered 😊 & hopefully the rain will stop long enough for an evening walk 🤞
TC77, good luck with the linen decluttering 🍀
vulpix, sounds like you & DD1 had a marvellous time at Haddon Hall 🥹 This “Our house buyer has just been with an envelope of cash for the furniture we are leaving. Handy as we are just about to go and collect our jewellery repairs.” was very serendipitous ☺️
Excellent decluttering & tidying in the bedroom suzeesu2000 👏 I will keep my fingers crossed that you get a decent amount of rain 🤞
Brie, This “New gardener did a good couple of hours decluttering weeds and pruning out dead wood. Amazing how much there is and how much nicer it looks once done. I guess that's what we need to think about our indoor pruning....how much nicer it will all be.” is a wonderful way to describe decluttering 👏
London_1, yippee to having a decent amount of rain so that your water butts are now filled 🥳 Fingers crossed that the robin’s eggs stay safe 🤞 I can almost feel your excitement at the arrival of Jack & Mikey 🥹

Good morning allWe've had some lovely glorious rain here for hours which has temporarily stopped and I'm loving every minute of it and so is the garden!
Thank goodness I decluttered dead wood & deheaded on Friday & Saturday before the rain arrived. The garden looks so much better for it, although the garden bin is already completely full after its decluttering on Friday!
@ Mrs_Salad_Dodger - I don't bother building myself up with things anymore as its an utter waste of energy. I just dial the number put the phone on handsfree and carry it around while I'm cleaning & decluttering. The last call I made to the DVLA was finally answered just after I got out of the shower and was drying off. I had a whole conversation while getting dried off and dressed!I've been up since silly o'clock after completely crashing out with burn out at 8.30pm last night, so I've taken babyface out in the stroller and let her have a short walk to do all her sniffing and jobs before we popped off to the inpost locker to collect a parcel before heading back. I've finished 3/4 of the painting in the office and as it dried fully overnight, I've just put everything back on the organised shelves above the desk and pushed the dest back in place. All the usual HH bins & surfaces have been emptied, sprayed & cleaned and now I'm enjoying a well deserved mug of fresh coffee while listening to loud snoring Missy who has scoffed a large breakfast and is now on her back with legs akimbo on the sofa! She's finally decided she enjoys going up and down her new inside rampsNot much planned today; famous last words, and I'm already back in my PJ's, so if anyone decides to visit, they're in for a real treat when I answer the door!
The sun has just come out so time to get another mug of coffee and go and sit outside in the back garden while it lasts. I hope everyone has a lovely peaceful decluttering day. Take care all & ta-ta for now xxxxx

Not much done this week except tidied up all the papers chucked in the general direction of the fire lighting bucket and actually put them in said bucket. Also got rid of a couple of random bits of paper spotted whilst doing other things.
OH has gone away for 2 weeks so have written lists of what can be done whilst I have the place to myself and have made a gentle start on it this morning.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅12 -
Morning, had a lie in this morning which I needed but still exhausted so going to slowly work through a few things.
Read a couple of documents, and marked up where I need to raise queries, and debating whether to take things off for sale and take to CS although in reality not going to CS now until the end of the week so may wait.
I did a creative textiles course, - felt abit like year 6..... rekindled my wanting to go back to knitting and I could remember well. Felting not for me and have 3 pieces of felting I brought home -fab colours and patterns but going in recycling and prob some other things can.
Also going to order a new feather (micro fibre version) as I look at my ceilings and picture rails and don't want to get on the top of the ladder. It will be a day of doing abit of this and that but will try and stay focused long enough to complete a section of frogs etc.
Mrs SD thank you for condolences, spent about 4 hours going through papers with Dcousin. I think she found it helpful. A reminder we have suitcases of my parents stuff we haven't sorted. I was going to and then DB said he's do through when he retires (soon) so I thought I wouldn't be able to throw things out so put off.
My focus has to be my things but have to make DD2's room even if to pile things neatly. She confirmed bags of bedding and clothes all clean - phew.
Take care all and do remember to pop into TLC carriage .10 -
Today's sales 2 wicker storage boxes and a hat and coat rack thing. I have a mirror to list and that's it with larger items to dispose of.
Next door has just brought me some lovely flowers as she ran over one of my garden pots the other day. It's still there in the rain, waiting for some dry so I can clear it up.
I am loving my £2 dress, Hobbs btw not Principles. I have hung it on the outside of the wardrobe so I can admire it. The sort of dress for a wedding or the races rather than evening wear but it will be fab on a cruise. Of course I will need to get some sandals to go with it.
It is much cooler here today, I could possibly do the ironing that has been hung on the outside of the wardrobes for over a week.
