Hi all, not a bad decluttering day, 1 LDFPA, 15 items to the cs and cc paid. After I went to the bank I decided to go to the walk in with my wrist as it was so painful and I was really struggling with it. Luckily I didn't have to wait long for triage, only about 20 mins. The nurse I saw was very efficient, diagnosed it, inflamation of the tendons, and fitted me with a splint and instructions to take more painkillers and to keep it elevated. I had to take my ring off as my fingers were starting to swell. To be honest the splint doesn't really help except it stops me using my hand when I forget to use my other hand 😂, but I am hoping the painkiller regime will help. They do make me drowsy though. If it hasn't improved in a week I have to go to the Drs 😁
Tomorrow the surveyer is coming to inspect the loft and I have finally cleared all OH's clothes from the landing so I want to give it a quick hoover and declutter any cobwebs I can see 😂
Sorry I have read all the posts but I am falling asleep so hugs to anybody who would like one
389 LDFPA
390 cc paid
391 - 405 items to cs.
Take care everyone

@sqwiffy - I think the abbreviations can mean what you want. Sometimes the first word may not be Dear either. We can often usually figure it out by the context.
Have you considered having a music playlist (I almost said tape player but don't know if anyone has those anymore) that plays songs from the forties and fifties that can be playing softly by your Mum's bed overnight. They have been doing research here on how music helps people sleep. We also included hymns for my mother's music selection as well as the forties and fifties songs.17 -
- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & tinned plum tomatoes. Wudupa.
565 - 569 Kitchen & office recycling, plastic jar, drinks cans, newspaper - recycled
570 Kitchen detritus - binned

Excellent decluttering Dizzycap 👏 I would love to see your postman’s face when your Mum answers the door 😂
Florenceem, sorry to hear that MrF had a fall in A&E 😔 You would have thought that he would have been taken straight to a cubicle when the ambulance dropped him off 😞
GrannyKate, hope the boiler move went well 🤞Hopefully Sox is giving his seal of approval to all the changes 😉 I adore the picture of Sox 😊
(Paid the milkman). Just noticed the time so am off to bed. Sleep tight everyone 😴 My mantra for Thursday is ‘Must Try Harder’ 😉

Quick update. DD is here for 2 nights either side of meetings which are slightly nearer me than her home. DGCs slept last night so school run this morning. Hoped to do some things with DD but have to be in for delivery of replacement door from the Swedish place - I hope they send a more accurate time rather than just am. Things are happening at empty house next door - been for sale a long time as needs some building work and inside worse than mine was. I looked at it but garden was too big to take on and layout was not as good as this one. Sold etc sign went up yesterday and people were here last night looking round outside. Plumber came and we agreed I should replace the boiler (12 years old) rather than move it - I rather thought that is what would be suggested.
DS2 came and put bedside tables together - just room for my new chair to fit it in the corner. DGS4 shared big bed with me last night as DD is here and said that when he got up to go to loo in night Sox was sleeping in the open shelf of his bedside table. He also changed curtains over for the wider pair.
378 Draft minutes finished and sent off
379 Email cull - read, actioned, saved or deleted
380 Last of March birthday cards done. I have cards for April except an anniversary card
381 Bag of rubbish dropped off at tip
382 Cardboard recycled at tip
383 Front tyres and money decluttered - new ones fitted
384 Gave children early Easter cards with Euros in for their trip next week. I usually give them an Egg and envelope with money. First year we are not having an egg hunt for about 18 years but think they are too old and older GCs are away anyway.
385 Children's coat hangers in CS bag
I have started boxing kitchen items up ready for work starting 11 April. Hopefully it can all go in garage or in a small cupboard I have emptied. Bedside tables give more storage space - not sure what I will put in there. Spoke to DS in USA - basically things are pretty horrible all round there.

Just nipped in to check for updates on babyface and Mr F
Glad baby face doing ok send a woof from shadow
Well done Mrs F for telling them like it is
Son is well enough to go school today so I'm taking a break to watch last episode of reacher before I catch up with housework, got a lady coming from council to do an assessment then I might cut grass before I watch some of new season of Bosch.
Also doing my last ever visit to my old house this evening 😢15 -
Good morning everyone. The sun has got his hat on again here again so DS and I are going to the garden centre to see if we can find some small somethings to put in my weedbed which I would very much like to turn into a flowerbed. I was out in the garden yesterday afternoon too - I cut the grass and pulled some ivy down. I have to leave the weeds in until I have something to plant there because the local cats do what cats do if I leave it as bare soil. Also our cat likes a potter down the garden now and then and as she's almost 16 and quite small I do what I can to discourage other cats. Next door's cat and I have an agreement - he sits on the patio and lets Snotty the Grump smack his face a couple of times then ours goes indoors grumbling and I give him some tasty cat biscuits as a treat for humouring her.
Anyway, onto the decluttering totals. I was busy with DS on Monday so only 5 things gone. Tuesday was a slightly better 10 things and we outdid ourselves yesterday with 20 things and a tip run. I can see the floor of my garden shed now (the shed also needs painting). I have one washload in progress and another to do but I think it's going outside to dry today 🌞
Florenceem I'm glad to see that you're standing your ground.
Dizzycap I hope that babyface's recovery is as straightforward and as painfree as possible
JackieO DS is indeed a big lad now. He's a year younger than your Mikey so he's just finishing his second year at uni. I'm glad that your trip away went well and that you're back enjoying island life.
Big hugs to everyone else, I love that this thread is so supportive - a problem shared may not quite be a problem decluttered but this is a great place for good advice.

Dizzycap - hope babyface and you had a good night.
Brambling - I have a feeling that they will try - I am ready for them this time!
I was deeply asleep - woke up and looked at my watch - 8.36 - I was meant to unlock at SA at 8.30. I jumped out of bed and quickly dressed - then my alarm went off - I had read the time wrong - no glasses on obviously in bed - it was 6.56.
Been to SA - unlocked - bags of donations outside - ripped open and scattered. I cleared up while I waited for the Ukrainian ladies to arrive - they are baking today ready for Saturday.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Good morning declutteriThank you to everyone fopr their well wishes including Rogan & Pepper - Woof, woof!Babyface had a peaceful night, is drinking well, enjoying Manuka honey, along with kisses and cuddles xx She went out twice to the loo and thankfully wasn't sick
Small breakfast this morning with antis and pain liquids and after decluttering a mug of coffee, we're both going back to bed as it's cold and grey and we're both shattered - sorry we're not in
Here's a couple of pictures of hope & joy- I didn't want to gown the side to take pics as they, understandably, like their privacy

Mrs_Salad_Dodger - a cubicle? You are lucky to be put into a bed in a corridor at our A & E.
The OT that I spoke to yesterday hadn't been told by Mr F that he needed to have his bottom wiped when he came home from hospital in January. I said - Mr F either didn't know or has forgotten. When I visited Mr F yesterday - he had no idea that I had to wipe his bottom!
My Son has contacted me now.
Sunny day here.
I found a hooded body warmer at SA - lovely but had a grease stain on front - I have treated it with washing up liquid and a vanish bar - in the wash now.
At least I don't have to cook today.
I will go to visit Mr F this afternoon - ready to do battle with the OT.
My friend is going to visit our elderly SA lady who has become immobile while in hospital - be interesting to hear what she thinks of the care home.
I told the Ukrainian ladies who are cooking at SA - to keep the door closed as there are 2 mentally ill men who may try to enter the building - I gave the ladies my number.

Today I am going to declutter mugs. I don't know how we have ended up with a cupboard full of ugly mugs. I have bought 8 new to me matching mugs from FB. I have also bought a big glass vase from the charity shop. I have decluttered vases so well that when I needed one on my Birthday I came unstuck.
Happy decluttering Vx:17
