Thursday: a much brighter day with wall to wall sunshine - high 17°C, low 7°C I have written a 4 day menu plan & a shopping list. DH has filled the bird feeders prior to heading off to sm. Straight into cheerleading as I am falling further behind 🙊 starting with posts dated Tuesday
vulpix, sorry to hear about DD1’s break up 😞 Rather sad when a lengthy relationship ends although it does sound like it is the right time. Good for her on being the one to get the ball rolling & hopefully the logistics won’t be too difficult 🤞 Lovely news about your DiL 🥹 sending lots of good wishes & hopes that the rest of her pregnancy runs smoothly 🙏 I do hope you wrote a note when you sent the ECG monitor back 😉 as I imagine the incident with Fomo will make for an interesting reading 😉 Good luck finishing all your knitting projects 🍀 I am so looking forward to seeing pictures especially of the Izzy dolls ☺️ Congratulations on losing weight 🥳 prior to your holiday which must be coming up soon 🤔 Hope the viewing of your Mother’s house goes well 🤞 Sounds like you are building up your ‘cruise wardrobe’ nicely & will be able to pack quickly nearer the date 😊 Well done MrV on continuing to reduce his DJing equipment 👏 I do hope This “I have washed our winter puffer coats. I am expecting winter to be gone when we get back from holiday!” comes true 🤞
London_1, your joy at being back on the IoW shines through in your post 🥹 Congratulations to your son in law on the new job 🥳 Just wondering if he will still be doing the majority of the cooking 😉 Sounds like you had a lovely afternoon. Thanks for the reminder about growing tomatoes - I will locate my seeds & get planting 🙂
DH & DSis have just got back so will post this & put the shopping away. Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible. Gentle cwtches for everyone 🤗

Beautiful garden Dizzy! And so nice to see grass. Sadly with 2 spaniels any grass I had was demolished!!!!! Consequently we have artificial pet grass but it does let some things grow through it which makes it look more natural. And is easy to keep clean and hose down.MrsF how is MrF today? Have you asked OT to show you how to do things safely at home? For when he is discharged.
There is a big black cloud zooming over which I hope will stop and water things for me.
I had my counselling earlier and I was telling her about the mindfulness course……she was pleased it was helping but wants to wait for it to finish before she really goes into things with me.I have been dealing with frogs plus extended family and phone call after phone call today….will tot up everything and update figures towards the end of the week. Probably Sunday as it’s treatment day tomorrow and I am fit for nothing then.
I am now sitting down having Rogan cuddles and he is dozing off……will try and sneak out my crochet in a bit…..
Last night I helped someone with their job application form and explained why I had put what I did and that she would have to rewrite it in her own words (more for understanding really). She’s decided not to go ahead with it now…. Grrr I could have been doing something else as I have to plan how to use my energy.Anyway cwtches to all!

Exhausted! Between fighting circular needles which I've never used before and don't think I will again and clearing bits I'm knacked !!
I got landed with sewing together knitted squares then edging the whole blanket for a complicated friend of a friend of a friend situation. Yarn is lovely but during the sewing up it kept splitting, its not far removed from the fleece its so soft lol, but worked easier when I was on the edges and knitting rather than sewing with it. However between the weight of it, the number of stitches I had to pick up then the knitting itself (without being in my normal way of needle under one arm) and having to keep shoving the finished stitches up at one end of the circular needles and pushing the to-be-stitched stitches up from the other end, ugh, it felt never ending. Its finished but as the yarn splits so easily I'm concerned if it ever gets pulled or washed and someone lifts it wet without supporting the bottom that it might rip apart. I'm thinking I might back it with a bit spare material or fleece to stabilise it. Hopefully it will be easy enough then I can get it out the house! And my arm and chest muscles can go back to normal 😆
Then after a lovely cup of tea in the sun the other day we went into a shed for a look and somehow ended up 5 hours later with a carload for the tip. Hut looks a lot better now. Carload gone yesterday. We were exhausted. Then today Mr daisy knocked over a tub containing the little individual letters that go on the tank spelling out the bike make. Found them all except one little 'i' so that turned into both of us turning out the garage, sweeping, tidying, sorting. And deciding a couch we had brought from the last house nearly 4 years ago will not get used again so we took it apart. Outcome- Didn't find the 'i' Another car load to the tip. Stopped in at sains and got some cakes
So although it hadn't been planned, we have got rid of lots of stuff we either didn't really need to bring with us or have gathered since living here. Things are tidier. Space reclaimed. Muscles aching.
I'm not moving from this couch till bedtime 😴!!

In a canvas bag for the charity shop, things found whilst starting to pack for the holiday.
a necklace
a brooch
4 bangles
a hand bag mirror
sunglasses
4 ugly mugs
Also my Birthday cards. The shop manager recycles them into new cards to sell in the shop.
A large very broken plastic storage box to the tip.Everything has already been delivered.Vx:18 -
Oo Daisy, I can’t get on with circular needles either. What an epic favour you are doing with the blanket. I hope they appreciate the work.:16

Unusually, the parcels that arrived from the Jungle warehouse today were both for me. That normally only happens around Christmas time!
IN
- a new milk jug (and this one even fits in the fridge door)
- 2 paperback books (Easter presents for my youngest godchildren)
- laundry detergent sheets (essentials)
- veterinary joint supplement tablets for my arthritic dog (essentials)
- a new 35mm slides/negatives viewer (to help me sort more family photos)
OUT
- the old milk jug (about 15yo and the glaze is now all crazed)
- the old slides/negatives viewer (about 65yo and way past redemption)
The books will go out sometime in the next 3 weeks.
The detergent sheets will be used up over the next 2-3 months.
The tablets ditto. Rosie has one each night and thinks it's a treat.
My life is full of such excitement16 -

I’m with you on the circular needles, I just cannot grasp how to do a full round even on small diameter circle for a sock pattern, it’s the stretching the gap do it meets the other needle after cast on, might just have to knit and seam forever xDecluttering Challenge 2025/1483
