lovely restful room now Grannykate, hope sox has recovered from his ordeal was the collar too loose dyathink?
Yes, I watched 2 videos and one lady says she only ever uses circular needles now, she had only about 12 stitches on quite a long wire, she just pushed all the knitting to the wire, folded the knitting in half and pulled the wire through the middle and pushed the knitting back up to the needles. I thought it looked easy but I was clearly using the wrong technique. A shame as I borrowed a pack of circular needles and if I could use them it would save so much space. Couple of differing lengths of wire and pointy ends about 6 inch long in lots of needle sizes. You screw on the size of needle you need to the length of wire you need. Came in a flat folder about half an a4 sheet of paper size. So much smaller to store than my long box of normal needles.
I'm off to do tidying, but firstly hugs to baby face, Mr + Mrs f what a time you're having, v's family, I'm sure tgerexwas more specific I wanted to mention, but general hugs can be bestowed and thanks for the flowers ?...moorviews? I think it was you?

Lovely bedroom transformation Granny kate. I like your choices.
Liverpool Anne, I think you were very restrained with the surveyor. It's not his place to make judgement on his clients. Most unprofessional, and not just one comment either!
Florenceem, you are right about shortening the sleeves on the jacket. I have only done the cuff end shortening, a pain in the neck and then the arm should have been taken in really as the cuff hole was then too big. You have more than enough on your plate and unless you want to do it to distract yourself I would tell the guy you just can't do it at the moment. He could get it done very reasonably by someone who does alterations for a living.
Squffy, I love the idea of an open house. Mr V's grandma had open house every Saturday lunch time with bacon sandwiches in thick uncut white bread doorstops and mugs of tea for all comers.
The good weather continues here. There were lots of brand new baby baa lambs sunning them selves in the fields the other day. I have actually had to water the pots of bulbs either side of my front door.
In case anyone is interested the May issue of Gardeners World magazine will have a 2 for 1 garden admission ticket which can be used as many times as you want to visit the gardens in the scheme. Out 10th April.
I WILL finish off the knitted toys today. I have knitted half an adult jumper in an attempt to procrastinate.
Take care lovely people and get well wishes where they are needed.

Hoping everyone and their animals are all doing well.
Sending thoughts to those who are having difficulties and hope some respite comes.
Your well wishes gave helped again. Two sales in total now having gone weeks with nothing. One posted and one on the way in the next hour.
Also dropped off a bag of coffee pods to be recycled. Bought myself my own recycling gadget so they no longer stack up and take up space.
It's slow and steady here now after a flurry at the beginning.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x15 -
Good morning chums ,alls well here, I had a great day yesterday shopping for bits for the garden
First went to Newport, and even found a decent parking spot in the centre of town (mind you I did go quite early)But returned some library books and got some out. Then went to B&M's was't brilliantly impressed there as their prices seemed higher than Poundland across the road
Ok its only gardening bits bits the same hanging baskets in B&M were £3.50 without liners, and the ones in Poundland were £2.00 complete with liners
When we moved last year DD donated all her garden hanging baskets and the ones you hook over the fence to a school on the Isle of Sheppey for the children to learn about growing things Basically she said it would be easier to replace once we had settled in.
Which was true and I had the time to find the best prices as well
As I had my car with me I was able to get all the things we wanted and a bit more. Then I popped up to Carisbrook about just over a mile further on the Home Bargains, and got even more bits and pieces for a very reasonable price
Its great because when I lived in Kent it wasn't economically viable to do a 12 mile trip to these stores as the saving I made went on petrol But here because the whole Island is only about 21 miles x 14 miles nothing is very far away.
DGS Ben is coming for the holidays after he breaks up on the 4th April so I will have him help me sort out what I need doing. He is the muscle bless him
Son-in-law starts his new job next week, and so I maybe doing some of the cooking ,but I don't mind that as it will make a nice change
DD is thinking once her OH is settled she may give up work altogether as she would really like to, now the children are all off hand and she would rather be at home sorting both the house and our garden out.
She says it will give someone else the chance of a job, as apart from seasonal work, a lot of people find it more difficult to find work unless you have like my son-in-law a specialised work. But we shall see.it would be nice to have her at home though so I have my fingers crossed.
The weather has actually turned out nice this afternoon, a bit drizzley this morning, but dried up now
Son-in-law has gone off to get his new glasses, so I'm doggy sitting at the moment sitting in the conservatory in the sun and its very pleasant ,but I think a nice walk down to the beach is on the cards later today as the weather is so nice
On Wednesday there was the 'Spring Statement' from the governmentand yesterday morning I received my tax bill
so the treasury has got a bit of cash in the till to start them off
Right kettles boiled so it must be time for a cuppa
Florenceem keep hassling them to get the treatment .In 2023 I had an op in the Medway Maritime Hospital which left me bed bound for 2 weeks and unable to stand at all, they then moved me to Sittingbourne Hospital for 6 weeks rehab to get me walking again. I know you live in Kent so there must be rehab hospitals nearer to you to help get your OH the physio he needs. It worked thank goodness, and the physio was excellent so keep standing up for the right treatment.
Cheers chums JackieO xxx15 -
@ GrannyKate - That's AWESOME
Great job! I was just about to say that your bedroom looks like one of my spare bedrooms which is now DDs bedroom that had the Tardis Mega Wardrobe of Doom in, and then I saw the last picture of your semi-mega wardrobe. Imagine that with 5 doors of double the door widths, double the depth of the wardrobe, and then 1.5 x the height and that's exactly what I've had removed
- Never again!
I've been in bed with babyface most of the morning after another change of bedding and finally managing to get her completely comfortable and supported on her back for operation airflow. All is now looking normal this morning - thank goodness xxx My mother is doing a fantastic job at keeping things going and in order in the house - bless her xxPostie delivered a parcel for her this morning, and seemed a little put out, to say the least, as no waggy tail dog greeting, I'm nowhere in sight, and just to seal the deal, mum got the wheelie bins in after an early morning collection as postie was leavingTime for a nice coffee xxxx

Been to SA to print a label.
Wrapped and labelled the sold V item - now I have another sale - that can wait until I am at SA tomorrow.
I weighed myself - lost more weight - surprising considering the amount of chocolate I eat - bmi now 22.3. I haven't been this weight for years. My friend said it was all the rushing around that I am doing.
I will be at SA at 7am tomorrow to get ready for the table top sale - we will be there until 2 pm at least. I am going to ask grandson J if he will come and do the heavy lifting - just did this and he is going to come along at 7.30 am. He is such a good lad.
GrannyKate - the bedroom looks lovely.
vulpix - I think concentrating on a difficult alteration would occupy my mind. Besides I love a challenge. At the moment - all I can think about is an OT telling me that they are discharging Mr F. Last time they discharged Mr F - he was such hard work for me - I am going to refuse to accept him home in his present condition.

Friday: another bright sunny day (contrary to the forecast which says cloudy) although only a high of 14°C, low of 7°C. DH has gone out on the motorbike. He is starting the process of getting ‘ride fit’. I am settled with my first cuppa & ready to continue the cheerleading for Wednesday’s posts:
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏 Congratulations on breaking through the quarter way mark for general decluttering 🥳 a Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way. Hopefully you have managed to declutter the cold in the last couple of days & managed to deal with the frogs on Wednesday🤞
Excellent decluttering Jelllybaby 👏 Eleven bags of ‘stuff’ to CS definitely merits a medal 🏅 which is on its way 😊Good luck sorting out the shoeboxes under the bed & the under stairs cupboard of Doom 🍀
Excellent work dealing with frogs vulpix 👏 Remember there is no such thing as “just frogs eaten” as you have not only dealt with them but have also prevented them from becoming cane toads 😊
Crazycatlady2, relieved to hear that your back is no worse 😮💨 Hopefully you will start to recover soon & hopefully both your husband & youngest are also starting to get better 🙏 Re This “In good news our old house sale completes on Friday 🎉” great news & with me being so far behind with the cheerleading I am hopeful that everything has already gone through 🙏
Yoshimi2025, sorry to hear about the “CFS crash” 😔 so very well done on working round & through it 😊
QueenJess, you might be going ‘slightly’ backwards with your numbers but you are balancing that out by such great forward planning 👏 I have no doubt that if you had left it until you needed the toy box, you would have been unable to find one 😉
Florenceem, so sorry to hear about your friend H 😢 Fingers crossed that all the soft toys & toys were snapped up by passersby & nothing had to be binned 🤞Nice to hear that MrF phoned & requested some books 😊 Hopefully that means he is feeling a bit better 🙏 It must be such a relief that that your granddaughter has no cancer & I am hoping that the ulcerative colitis is a mild form 🙏 Not sure what to say about This “Been to visit Mr F - he was sitting in an armchair - unfortunately - they left him there too long - his legs have swelled - he should only sit with his legs down for a short period.” 😢 😶 & as for This “……OT said - we are not thinking of discharging him right away - just setting up a plan.” perhaps rather than setting up a plan for sending MrF home they should be setting up a plan to get MrF well 🤨 As well as cwtches 🤗 I am sending you positive thoughts for your continued strength to resist the OTs 😊
DH is back & has made himself a bacon sandwich so lovely aroma wafting through from the kitchen 😉 which is making me feel hungry & stopping me concentrating on the cheerleading 😂 so will post & run 😉 Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 🤞
