Hi, and Thank you all for your Birthday wishes .xxx I have had flowers but not as lovely as yours Florenceem. Mine seem to have rather a lot of what looks like Leylandii hedge in it! It has snowed a bit here today. It ALWAYS snows on or about my Birthday.
The GF and I went to a cafe a few miles away for a coffee. It's on a cycle trail so very popular. We were sat next to a baby babyface, called Crumpet and delicious she was, I could have just eaten her!
The "boys" emptied the storage shed, put everything back in and took a car full of stuff to the tip. We also took a big amplifier and a massive flight case to a community project for young people where they do DJ skills. DSS took home 2 wall lights and 2 matching ceiling lights. To go to Mr V's work on Friday, the chair that I renovated a few weeks ago. To go in the loft several plastic storage boxes for use when we move.
We all went into Rusholme in Manchester for a curry. I have been going to the same curry house for almost 50 years. I was greeted like an old friend by one of the waiters who has worked there all that time. I was quite touched.

Hi all, can't get to sleep so I thought I'd do a quick update 😁. Went to the sm and only got a few things that weren't on the list as they were reduced and I know we will use them. I did drop something into the food bank box on my way in. It was something we were gifted but both of us said no don't fancy that 😂 but well in date so hopefully someone will like it. Put everything away as soon as I got home, the kitchen is still looking clean and tidy, can't really believe it 😂. One of the shopping bags had ripped so once I had emptied it it went straight into the bin, the other bags were returned to the car boot. I had a quick tidy round the hall and cleared a few things off the top of the gas cupboard and found a random empty box to put in the recycling. OH was home so we had a coffee and a bit of a chat.
The builder texted to say he was on his way and arrived about 10 mins later. He had a look at the job, yes he could leave half of the kitchen for me to use 😁 and he looked at the drain situation and said yes although he would have to dig up around the outside drain he could use that and wouldn't have to dig down to join it to the underground drain. Apparently the waste water from the kitchen goes into the same drain as toilet waste, just need an interceptor putting in. So he was happy with that and so am I 😂. Then I took him in to see ln so he could look at hers and we explained that her sil can fit the toilet if the builder could do the drains bit. He seemed happy with that as well 😁. So he is going to send a quote but the down side is he can't do it until July, he did say he might be able to move things around a bit and get to me a bit earlier but I suppose that's a bit cheeky as everyone is waiting for work to be done and at least it will give me time to empty the cupboards that need emptying and sort out the wood store 😂. Those jobs have just moved to the top of my list but other things will have to be done first to make room for the stuff I am emptying from those iyswim 😂. I am feeling hopeful right now that some real progress is being made even though all that has happened is a builder has visited the house 😂😂😂😂.
After tea all I did was chat with OH and do some crochet.
@Vulpix hope you managed to come up with plan b 😁. A trip to the cafe for a coffee and a cake as it was your birthday would have been my suggestion 😁. Just seen your last post, glad you had such a nice day 😁.
@CRANKY40 you're right I cant wait to see how you got on with the wardrobe 😁
@Mrs SD hope you are feeling better, hugs
@Florenceem, oh dear this is all starting to sound very familiar. I hope the Drs can at least get a diagnosis soon and come up with a way to help not only Mr F but you as well. I think you are spot on when you say the stress of everything is slowing down your recovery and I am glad you are taking a bit of a rest from your work at the SA to get yourself properly better. How lovely of your friend to bring you some nice food and beautiful flowers, you deserve them. Look after yourself first for a while, big hugs. The curtains look great 😁
@dND shame about the glass recycling. I find it strange what some councils / tips will take but others not. My local tip man said they take anything except paint and nuclear weapons 😂. My nearest paint recycling is about 20 miles away and if I ever dig up a missile heaven knows what I would do 😂.
Right I am going to see if I can get some sleep now
Hugs to everyone who would like one

- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
The sunshine only lasted about 40 minutes & now (15:00) it has got very dark ☹️ Whilst the sun was shining I did stir my stumps & put a bin bag in the newly emptied wheelie bin 😉 We have had a couple of short light showers. I have also written & addressed the 9 birthday cards for May - so not a totally wasted day 😮💨 DH was out for about an hour & came back with a bag full of shopping. For dinner we had grilled beef burgers in buns with oven chips. After dinner, DH went out for a walk & caught up on his step count for the day.

Lovely cheerleading as usual Liverpool_Anne 😊 Wow you were exceptionally busy on Monday 👏 I have noticed how much you get done when your OH is not underfoot 😂 You got such a huge amount of work done that I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ Very pleased to hear that your OH has shared the potential health issue with his DSis 🥹 This “So I sorted out the kitchen yesterday, ……. cleared and thoroughly cleaned, lots of things put away where they live including various spices ……….. lots of things binned or recycled. Various things washed and it is all gleamy. 3 rags from the rag bag used to clean into the bin, served their purpose but were so minty when I finished I wasn't going to bother washing them 😂. When OH got home it was commented on and I said I wanted it keeping that way, we shall see.” brought a smile & I have everything crossed that OH has taken on board that he needs to keep it that way 🤞🙏 Fingers crossed that the builder turned up on Wednesday 🤞
Lovely cheerleading _Dolly_Rocker_ 😊 A busy Tuesday morning 👏 Hope you & your Mum enjoyed walking the dogs around Loch Lomond ☺️ such a beautiful area 😍
Lovely post vulpix ☺️ Shame that there has been no movement on your Mum’s house, although it would be useful if your house sells quickly & you don’t have a new house to move into 🤔 Hopefully the trying on black trousers went well & you have several to choose from 🤞
Sleep tight 😴

Good morning Declutteri@ vulpix - Baby babyface 'Crumpet' sounds delicious. I really don't know where my hearts passion for babyfaces came from. All I remember is that the first time I met a Daxie, that was it. It was love at first sight and I just googoo at every Daxie
. My mother is the same with Collies. Her heart absolutely melts
She can't keep her hands off of babyface and naturally babyface laps it up - Talk about cat with the cream look
@ Liverpool_Anne - Sorry to hear that you've had another restless night. I hope you eventually managed to get some sleepGreat news about the builder and yes, for some strange reason, builders started to become fully booked for 2-3 months at the beginning of December. However, at least it gives you ample time to get everything organised before the work begins
After a somewhat disturbed settling and having to go out for another walk with babyface late last night, who was in her element with the extra walk, I finally managed to fall asleep at around 1am and woke up at 5.30, so personally, not bad in terms of the amount of sleep

Belated birthday wishes @vulpix. When you mentioned Rusholme you brought back some happy memories. I used to drive through Rusholme everyday when at uni.
Hoping to smash thru the 300 barrier of neutral items out this weekend. Def need to get some items out early, I’ve a parcel ready to go and lots of bits ready for the shoebox appeal, I’ve even completed my first shoebox which I would hand over to the organiser except I haven’t had the paperwork for the front of the boxes yet!Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Anyway on to decluttering. I tried on everything apart from some things that I only had to hold up in front of me to know that I wasn't keeping them. I now have a tidy "summer wardrobe" that I can open and see my dresses, skirts and summer tops. I can also wear anything that's in there because it all fits and looks presentable. I have a drawer (it's a small drawer) of summer weight full length trousers and cropped trousers and also a drawer with a couple of pairs of leggings/exercise stuff in. My jeans are in the bottom of the hanging bit neatly folded.
My other wardrobe has hoodies, jumpers and long sleeved t-shirts hanging up together with three summer tops that are a little bit tight but will fit properly soon. There are two shoe boxes at the base of that bit with going out strappy shoes in. I don't wear them often but it would be typical of me to get rid of them and then to need them. I haven't done the two drawers at the bottom of the winter wardrobe yet. It took me all day to do the other bits. I'll finish it off on Saturday when I don't have to go anywhere.
Items decluttered from my two single wardrobes = 54 (so I can add my one item from the other day to make keeping a running total easier). In my defence some things were years old but mostly unworn and there were some unwanted by me things that my sister offloaded the last time that she visited. There were things in there that I didn't even know that I had.
