Morning all
Yesteday had a brainstorm . In our garage resided a Belling cooker which was a wedding present from my parents (44yrs ago) which has been in there since we moved into this bungalow in the early 90s!! quietly rusting away. The problem was how to get it out? The up and over door was stuck, and the back door too small for it to go through without moving a trillion bits and pieces. Said garage door wouldn't budge from the outside. Then came the brainwave to open it from the inside by fiddling with the locking mechanism. Bingo! Managed to raise it just far enough to get a piece of wood under to hold it open whilst I manhandled offending cooker outside. Took the opportunity to clear out some other 'treasures' while it was still holding. I will need to replace the door at some point as the bottom was all rusting away, and the mechanism is well past its best. The garage is also the home to my Battlesden Car ( a horse drawn vehicle) which dates from he early 1900's as far as I know, and although I don't have an animal that fits it any more, I am reluctant to sell it as it holds so many memories for me.
Anyway offending cooker is now kerbside along with other assorted bits of metal which the local scrap boyos will take when they spot it.
Decluttered more plants to the new library planters too and 8 green waste recycling bags emptied - unusually nothing left on the floor!

Im all fired up after the paperwork marathon so today it’s the last bit - tackling all the paperwork relating to my late DH. Over the past twelve years I’ve looked at these boxes every time I’ve gone into the spare room, even hidden them in a wardrobe, but today is the day!My plan is to tackle it throughout the day in between builder coming to quote for bits and pieces needing done around the house and boiler being serviced. Then I’ll take the bags to my dad who can’t wait to get started - neither can my mum as it’ll keep him busy 🤣🤣🤣18

Happy Birthday 🥳 Vulpix!Florenceem - I am sorry to read of Mr F starting to deteriorate again and had noticed that you were mentioning him falling on occasion. I hope you don’t have a setback with your own recovery due to the additional stress. Thank you for the info regarding the pattern weights. I’ll have a look out for the big bolts in the DIY places.14

@Florenceem I loved the little fabric weights. Sorry to hear about Mr F, hoping it’s just a temporary blip and not a continual decline.
Finally sent off a parcel of presents. Even though one was a gift bag of assorted little presents for a landmark birthday, I’m just going to count it as one thing.DDs bedroom is slowly being overtaken by neutral items picked up from winter items that are being sold off cheap. I need to get some more proper storage bags from Home Bargains for the things to be stored in and then by October everything will be gone, ready for the January start again. Besides selling on V, I have been picking up things cheap like toiletry bags so I can make up some toiletry packs for those that go into hospital with nothing for various reasons (esp a lot of elderly patients with no one) as I’ve recently found out that the hospital cannot afford to supply the basics like toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush etc, particularly on one ward. The packs made up, I might donate early. So at the minute while upstairs might look cluttered…..by October it will be bare again with a small bag of items going out early this weekend.
119) gift bag of goodies sent for landmark birthday
120) even though gift bag was chewed by the cats at the top, for some reason the cats always like to help with this persons presents so they would be surprised if the cats did nothing!!!! gift bag used and out of the house
121) another present sent at the same time to save on postage costs.
122) another item sold on V (it is a challenge this year to sell 25 items, 19 sold so far)Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Happy birthday VulpixI didn't want to post yesterday as my mum sent me a package in the post and my numbers are out of control. Bar using things up, I'm pausing on decluttering as I really don't think I have much physical stuff to go. I'm concentrating on being aware of what I have and using it. That might throw up some more bits and pieces. If I get back to negative numbers or even net nil by the end of the year it might be a miraclePhysical:
1 - hair band used up (binned)
4 - paper reused then recycledNew total 862

Morning all,
WFH today and I'll be busy but in between that I am going to dig through the large bag of puzzles I was gifted and donate at least 5 of them to the CS.
I can pop in with them later on.
Need to head to my piercing lady later to change out some earrings which I can't get out due to them being flatbacks that screw on. I just cannot get a good enough grip to unscrew it.@mehefin - Well done you. That sounds like it was challenging.@Jellybaby - Understandable why it's taken so long but your ready now and will feel so much better when it's all sorted. Always great to rope the parents in.@Happy_Kitties - That is such a lovely thing to do and I had no idea about this either. Well done on the V sale.@QueenJess - I'm doing much the same in with the decluttering. Use, use use!@Dizzycap - Oh world sleep day, I may try to have a wee nap today at some point to celebrate.@Vulpix - Happy born day! Hope you have a lovely day.Debt Free - 4th June 202516
